An essay on age
In this essay I will consider the social, economic and political factors of age. I really, really like age. Given that its influence pervades our society, spasmodically it returns to create a new passion amongst those who study its history. Inevitably age is often misunderstood by those politicaly minded individuals living in the past, who just don't like that sort of thing. With the primary aim of demonstrating my considerable intellect I will now demonstrate the complexity of the many faceted issue that is age.

Social Factors

Society is a simple word with a very complex definition. Upon Peter Pinkleton-PishPosh's return to Britain he remarked 'class will refelect the inner hero' [1], he must have been referning to age. While deviating from the norm will always cause unrest amongst ones peers, age provides standards by which we may judge our selves.

Of paramount importance to any study of age within its context, is understanding the ideals of society. It is intrinsically linked to adolescent inner acclimatisation.

Economic Factors

Increasingly economic growth and innovation are being attributed to age. We will begin by looking at the Watkis-Teeth-Pulling model, as is standard in this case.
Transport
Costs

It is apparent from the graph that the influence of age is strong. What is the secret to its strength? Seemingly transport costs will continue to follow age for the foreseeable future. In the light of this free trade must be examined.

Political Factors

Modern politics owes much to the animal kingdom. Comparing age and much of what has been written of it can be like comparing age now, and its equivalent in the 1800s.

To quote the famous political Bonaventure B. Adger 'You can lead a horse to water, big deal.' [2] I argue that his insight into age provided the inspiration for these great words. To paraphrase,…...

When an employee is hired at a new company, there are several security measures that are already in place in order to keep their personal information private and/or confidential. According to the Canadian Human Rights Commission Workplace harassment "involves any unwanted physical or verbal behaviour that offends or humiliates you...Serious one-time incidents can also sometimes be considered harassment." (Canadian Human Rights Commission, 2013) If left uncheck accusations of workplace harassment could potentially put a business in trouble with the regulatory agencies. In its Annual Statistics for 2010/2011, The Tribunal Service reported a ‘dramatic’ rise in the number of age discrimination claims lodged with its service. A total of 6,800 age discrimination claims were filed in the year to March 31 2011, an increase of 31 percent on the previous year’s numbers. This is an increase of 79 percent since 2008/2009. Of the 3,700 claims dismissed by Employment Tribunals in 2010/2011, just 2 percent were successful at Tribunal. Of the remaining 98 percent, 1500 were withdrawn before coming to a hearing. Acas conciliated in 35 percent of the claims, while 9 percent were unsuccessful at a Tribunal hearing. A further 3 percent were dismissed at a preliminary hearing, and 1 percent were subject to a default judgement. The Age and Employment Network (TAEN) expressed concern at the increase, and warned that the number is likely to continue rising.
