Business Bank
Our primary goal obviously is to maximize shareholder’s wealth or in this case, to maximize our bank’s stock price. In addition, we also aim to compete with other business banks from all three cities (New York, Denver, Seattle) in terms of efficiency and profitability. We are looking at no less than the best business bank all around and we will give our best to achieve it.
Quarter 0 As a business bank, our strategy is commercial-oriented which means we focus more on accepting deposits from and issuing loans to businesses/organizations rather than individuals. However, after looking at the balance sheet, we notice that Securities and Commercial loans are significantly higher than all other loans. We feel that is a bit risky and we would like to diversify our assets portfolio, which is to increase on other loans. Since Consumer loans and Home Equity loans yield the most return from the “Average Asset Yield” chart, we decided to lower Consumer loans rate from 11.01% to 9.01% and Home Equity loans rate from 8.65% to 8.01% to make more loans to the consumers’ market segment. In order to finance an increased demand on loans, we will need more deposits which should be achieved by increasing the Checking Deposits rate from 1.05% to 1.5%, Savings Deposits rate from 2.96% to 3.5%, 1 Year TDs rate from 5.16% to 5.45% and 6 Month CDs rate from 5.2% to 5.5%. Those are all the changes we would like to make for the first quarter as we do not want to take too many variables into our consideration at the beginning. We expect to see an increase on both deposits and loans, thus somehow increases our stock price.
Quarter 1
It turns out that our Consumer loans, Home Equity loans, Savings Deposit and TDs all increased as expected due to lower loan and higher deposit rates, respectively. Despite Checking Deposits and CDs…...

The present paper aims to highlight Indian initiatives by various banks adopting green banking in India. Further, an attempt has been made to enlist certain strategies of adopting green banking. Defining green banking is relatively easy. It means promoting environmental-friendly practices and reducing your carbon footprint from your banking activities. This comes in many forms. Using online banking instead of branch banking. Paying bills online instead of mailing them. Opening up CDs and money market accounts at online banks, instead of large multi-branch banks. Or finding the local bank in your area that is taking the biggest steps to support local green initiatives. Any combination of the above personal banking practices can help the environment. So this leads to the question, which banks are green. In general, online banks and smaller community banks have better track record than larger banks. For instance, take a look at the banks that British Petroleum has been reported to seek lines of credit from this past summer after the oil spill. Green Bank Report (http://s.tt/12gNy) 13. If there’s not an “app” for your banking needs then there’s a strong possibility that your bank has a mobile version of their site making mobile banking easier than ever. Also positive is the fact that industry fundamentals remain solid, with an all-time low gross NPL ratio of 1.8%, strong loan loss coverage at almost 105%, stable interest spreads and a stable loan/deposit ratio at 85%. What’s Our View Banks have become more selective in their approval of residential property loans but demand is likely to hold up due to: (i) expectations of higher property prices post GST; and (ii) prevailing negative real rates that will encourage investors to seek an inflation hedge. Whether this will prompt further property measures remains to be seen. Overall loan approval rates continue to soften while application trends have yet to see a meaningful...
