Everyone immediately rush to the hospital to be their for comfort and support Noah and when he was released, they still were their for him and you will see this in a lot of the episode from season 1 and 2 how close knit these friends are. When you see the episode of Noah getting beaten up clearly because of his sexuality, it goes to show that society is ignorant and stuck on its hatred for what they see as un-godly things. In the past few years society has become better with the whole gay issue for example, gay marriage being accepted in some states so there is progress but that doesn’t mean people are not going to react and take matters into their own hands which can sometimes resort to violence. Society needs to educate themselves about gay culture so they can get a better understanding of how gay society is before they’re quick to judge. Although the show stop airing after the 2nd season, it’s still syndicated on other networks. Noah’s Arc is the first all gay black cast....

How to Become Rich

...How to become rich As I remember there is a pop song “I want to be a billionaire so freaking bad, buy all of the things I never had”, this melody still stick in my head all the time. How to become rich? I ask myself this question every day. Become rich has different meanings for different people. The term rich can also be applied to the accumulation of other things besides wealth. Things like good health, close relationships with family and friends, a rewarding career, and enjoyable hobbies can make people feel rich as well. Of Course everybody dreams to being rich, who wouldn’t, but being rich in wealth without being rich in life would in my opinion to be pointless. Being in good health allows a person to enjoy life with or without having money. Not having to go to the doctor constantly for things such as heart trouble, diabetes, depression, or arthritis is a blessing. When we can be mobile without pain to do even the simplest of things, this allows us to live an enjoyable life. I could be a person without the convenience of monetary value and have a wonderful family and friends to share my life with that would make me rich in life. No one can put a price on having a family that is there for you through good times and bad. When the time comes that you need a shoulder to lean on or someone to just listen to you vent, nothing beats family and friends. True friends will always pick you up when you fall or stumble, share secrets with you, and they will be the first to give......

When Storytelling Becomes Dialogue

...When storytelling becomes dialogue Starbucks has decided to try to capture some of the stories about people who has met their future wives and husbands at starbucks or people who had gotten married at starbucks, and then they will celebrate them as a part of a valentine’s day push. Starbucks believes that sharing some stories about people who has met their future wives and husbands at starbucks or people who had gotten married at starbucks, would reinforce the idea that starbucks is a great destination for a date or a chance meeting. Before moving forward with the idea, starbucks sponsored a telephone survey that included a lot of singles, and where most of the adults believed that a couple that met in a coffee-house has a better chance of succeeding in love than a couple that met in a bar. The reason is that bars tend to be noisy and expensive, where a coffee-house is more safe and affordable. With the match made over coffee contest, starbucks hoped to highlight the emotional dimension of the brand. The third place is the place between work and home where people congregate to find a sense of community, a place where you can be yourself and hang out – alone or with friends and family. starbucks is more than just coffee, it’s a certain experience and a good atmosphere. By tapping these stories, starbucks invites their customers to become a part of the brand, which is more appealing than anything they could do through traditional advertising. These new......

How a Bill Becomes Law

...For a bill to become a law it takes more than one step and more than one person deciding, it's not as easy as it seems. First, the legislation is introduced, and then you have the committee action, afterwards floor action, conference committee, the president, and then the bill becomes a law. Some bills will never make it through any of these processes but for those who really want their bill to pass, if they fight for it they just might get lucky. This paper will show you that it takes more than one person and is a long process. Throughout this paper I will explain how a bill becomes a law so that you will have a better understanding of the process. The whole process starts when a Representative has an idea for a new law, that person becomes the sponsor and introduces the bill by giving it to the clerk of the House or placing it in a box, called the Hopper. The bill is then assigned a legislative number by the clerk with H.R. for bills introduced in the house and S. for the Senate. The Government printing office then prints the bill to give copies to each representative. The Bill is then assigned a committee by the Speaker of the House, so the bill can be studied. There are twenty-two standing committees, each with jurisdiction over bills in certain areas. The standing committee studies the bill and hears testimony from people interested in the bill. The committee may then release the bill with a recommendation to pass it, or revise the bill and release it, or lay it......

How to Become a Successful Person

...How to Become a Successful Person Knowing how to become a successful person is essential for every person. It gives him an easy way for a good living. The characteristics of a successful person is different for every person, it depends on how they view it. My view about a successful person is someone who has the right balance in happiness between family and career and is happy in who he/she is and what he/she does. The first thing to become a successful person is to have skills. A successful person needs to become the specialist in their job area, no matter how difficult the situation is. Next is to have self-confident, never look down in yourself, because when you do it, that's when you will fail. Passion is also an important need, because success can be obtained by many people, but maintaining the drive to reach the goals requires a passion to achieve it. Beside all of that, there is one thing that is hard to be earned. Why do so many of us fail to act? We know what we must do, yet we lack the will to do it. In another word, we lack of the courage. Success cannot exist without courage, many people who cannot be success are those who have the highest training and ethics, but lack of the courage. So what we need to overcome failure is having the will to act. A successful person is not afraid to take risk and make difficult decisions, and the important thing is they are ready to accept the responsibility of it. The next step to be a successful person is focus, creative,......

Bill Becomes Law

...Constitution Jennifer Bradley American Public University Systems POLS210 Prof. E September 26, 2013 How a Bill Becomes a Law at National Level When deciding whether a bill should become law or not, there are several steps the government must take. An idea for a new law can start from anywhere such as; an ordinary citizen, president, state legislatures, members of Congress, governor, executive branch, and congressional staff. “Constitutional Provisions whose primary purposes are to create obstacles, govern the process that a bill goes through before it becomes law.”(American Government, n.d). A bill must pass the Congress and then the President must sign the bill prior to it being able to even become law. The bill must be able to be passed at the same congressional session of the proposal, which is a year. If for some reason the process is not completed, the bill with then be dropped and can only come back if it enters the entire process again. Furthermore, the bill is first introduced by congress, which can either be done by House of Representatives, Senate, or even both. It is important to remember tough, that each bill must start in the house. “A bill is assigned (S. 1, for instance, for the first Senate bill introduced; or H.R. 50 for the fiftieth bill introduced in the house.)” (National School Boards Association, n.d). The first step is committee consideration. The bill will be passed along to the right committee which is based on what......

Bill Become a Law

...it the bill becomes a law. If both Senate and the House of Representatives pass the bill by a two-thirds majority the president’s veto is overruled and the bill becomes a law. Bills may be sponsored by more than one member of the Congress. This is a way for members of the Congress to demonstrate their support for a bill. Many people criticize Congress for its inefficiency and the length of time that it takes for laws to be passed and ratified. Although the process is long and difficult, the founders intentionally set it up that way. Some critics believe that the system is simply too slow for a fast-paced country like the United States. Should be the process of how a bill becomes a law modified? The established steps are fine, it is true that is long and involves a lot of people, but it has to, a process in which only a few people were responsible for making laws certainly would be more efficient but it wouldn’t be very democratic. It has to ensure that the bills are beneficial for all the inhabitants of the United States. Going through all the persons in the Congress make a good idea better. The laws are very essential part of the world today. They make communities better by helping citizens live together peacefully, protect us and guide our daily life. This system was developed in a simple, effective way so as to involve several branches of government to ensure that lawmaking is beneficial for the people of the United States. Become a Critic

...Become a Critic Law Abiding Citizen was a very action packed mind binding thriller, it kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first scene to the very last scene. The advertising and previews of this movie did not prepare viewers for the action and mind binding events that took place. This movie had the viewer’s loving the victim that becomes the villain. The end of the first scene grabbed viewer’s attention. The action begins very unexpectedly and keeps viewers not wanting to miss a second. Because it begins with what the viewer see as a very possible real life situation. It keeps them feeling that this could happen to them, and if it did, we are left to wonder. Would we do what he did? In the beginning the movie viewers saw who the main character is, and who his family is. This tells viewers why his pain runs so deep. As the movie progresses we are not sure how he is doing but, we are rooting for him to get every bit of revenge. At this point, the movie goes into a little less realistic tone, but you do not care because you are with him one-hundred percent. Along with the action and suspense, this film offers a little twist that makes you say to yourself “that is how he did it”. This is where the viewer’s understand some of the reasons for events that took place, that were not made clear at the time. While I loved the movie because of the plot, the script, wonderful acting, and of course the psychological part of it was the best. I did not like the ending; it left......

...Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a cricket field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard-long pitchwith a wicket, a set of three wooden stumps sited at each end. One team, designated the batting team, attempts to score as many runs as possible, whilst their opponents field. Each phase of play is called an innings. After either ten batsmen have been dismissed or a set number of overs have been completed, the innings ends and the two teams then swap roles. The winning team is the one that scores the most runs, including any extras gained, during their period batting. At the start of each game, two batsmen and eleven fielders enter the field of play. The play begins when a designating member of the fielding team, known as the bowler, delivers the ball from one end of the pitch to the other, towards a set of wooden stumps, in front of which stands one of the batsmen, known as the striker. The striker's role is to prevent the ball from hitting the stumps through use of his bat, and simultaneously strike it sufficiently well to score runs. The other batsman, known as the non-striker, waits at the opposite end of the pitch by the bowler. The bowler's intention is to both prevent the scoring of runs and to dismiss the batsman, at which point the dismissed batsman has to leave the field and another teammate replaces him at the crease. The most common forms of dismissal are bowled, when the bowler hits the stumps directly with the......

Become a Critic

...Become a Critic Unfamiliar with the movie “I Am Sam,” I recently thought I would see it. “I Am Sam” tells the story of the financial struggle of a father who is determined to raise his daughter by himself. The hardest part in this situation is that the father is mentally handicapped and lives with just his daughter. However, he still manages to raise her. Directed by Jessie Nelson, this film encourages society to think differently when choosing who deserves to possess and care for a child. The law can try to state that mentally handicapped individuals are incapable to raise a child, but this movie, “I Am Sam,” disproves that. At his daughter’s seventh birthday party, Sam loses ownership over his daughter because of an incident that happened just as a social worker happened to arrive. A sympathizing lawyer finds Sam and fights to help Sam keep his daughter so that his daughter is not lost to him for the rest of his life. Friends of Sam, who knew him before the birth of his daughter, testify on his behalf. While doing so, they have to prevail over their own handicap issues. Because this trial is long and tedious, Sam’s daughter is taken to a foster family to care for her in the meantime. Not only has Sam lost his daughter, for now, but he is also receiving harsh criticism from the foster parents. They despised him and would not let him near his daughter. They threatened him even more by saying they were planning on adopting her, so his visiting should cease. Sam seems to......
