...Case Study Analysis for ABC, Inc. COMM/215 UOP January 9, 2012 Korijna Valenti Introduction During my reach into the hiring issues at ABC Inc., it was found necessary to research and read more in today’s hiring process with the current job market. The following is an introduction of one specific company that recently requested a case study of a current internal hiring process that took place or did not take place. In this situation, a new campus recruiter was expecting to bring on 15 new hires to complete for orientation to work in the Operations department. When the operations supervisor contacted the new recruiter and checked on the status of the recruiting process, they were assured that all requirements would be in place. The recruiter went to finalize the necessary paper work that would typically be in place for new hire orientation, only to discover that there was not a defined process or checklist. Background Because Carl (the recruiter) was new to ABC Inc., he was under the impression there should be a plan of action defined for how to complete a new hire. With this, Carl should have first noticed a lack of organization in which there should be a process flow to take him from requisition, to recruitment and the matching up a candidate with the job opening. When he pulled out the new trainee’s files, it was discovered that some of the files did not have completed applications or transcripts and none of the trainees had been sent for a......

...omm University of Phoenix Material Case Study Analysis Paper Prepare a 1,400 to 1,750-word case study analysis paper based on the University of Phoenix Material, “Case Study for Student Analysis,” located in Week Two of the COMM/215 [pic] page. Below is a detailed description explaining how to prepare a case study analysis paper. _____________________________________________________________________________ Typically written in narrative form, a case sets forth, in a factual manner, the events and organizational circumstances surrounding a particular managerial situation. Placing the reader at the scene of the action, the real events presented provide an opportunity to help evaluate alternative courses of action. Case analysis is used in academics to help you demonstrate your ability to evaluate situations critically, to apply concepts you have learned in a class, to solve problems, and to communicate your findings and conclusions. The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to case studies and the analysis process, and to a proper format for writing the case study analysis report. Try not to worry about trying to find the "right answer" to a case. Usually, there is no single right answer. Most cases are intentionally ambiguous and can be viewed from many different perspectives. Several feasible solutions are usually available to any give case. The best solution is the one you can best support with thoughtful analysis, logical arguments, and substantiating......

...Case Study for Student Analysis Student COMM/215 July 21, 2010 Instructor Case Study for Student Analysis In the case study, Carl is a new recruiter for ABC Inc. Upon being assigned to his position, he beat expectations by successfully hiring several new people despite his lack of time on the job. Because of this, he probably feels a lot of pressure to succeed and continue to perform better than his previous efforts at all times. He has made a number of mistakes in the case study and is at a loss as to what he should do next. Specifically, we’ll look at the mistakes Carl made, what he should have done in the first place, and the options he has available to him now to correct the mistakes he’s made. First of all, Carl started off wrong by assuring Monica that everything would be taken care of in time and leaving it at that. There is quite a bit involved with making sure each hire has their applications and resumes filled out and submitted correctly. Additionally, drug screening is something that has to be done at an approved facility for your company or corporation since there are potential legal issues if the urinalysis tests are done at your place of business. Even hospitals send their employee’s urinalysis bottles to other medical facilities to have them checked rather than doing the drug screening at their own facility though there are companies that are offering on-site drug testing (OHS Health and Safety Services, Inc., 2010). Physicals are also a......

But Cold Stone Creamery has found a way to make it even more so—with Facebook. Today, Cold Stone continues to innovate outside the kitchen, recently releasing what may be the first eGift feature on Facebook, and running contests that get thousands engaged even more deeply with the brand. The payoff goes well beyond greater customer engagement; Cold Stone’s promotions add to the bottom line by moving people from their computers to physical stores. In July 2010, Cold Stone made eGifting more tangible. Now you can send Facebook friends a code for an actual ice cream creation eGift, ranging from $5 to $7, right from the Cold Stone Facebook fan page for delivery via Facebook or email. ...Revised Case Study Analyst Paper James Demencius COMM/215 June 23rd, 2014 Mrs. Oleah Morris Leave No Man Behind Even though The United States should not make deals with Terrorists, All Service Members from Wars and Conflicts deserve to and should be brought back to the United States. Services Members should never be left and forgotten in foreign countries; because they preserve our freedom so we should do whatever is possible in preserve theirs when they are captured. All Service Members captured or detained during times of War and Conflicts should be repatriated back to the United States as soon as the War or Conflict has been completed or when an exchange can be completed by both Governments. During past wars the United States has participated in Prisoner exchanges. Thirty Americans were among the 100 prisoners exchange between North Korea and the United Nations in 1953 (BBC Home, 2005). In 1973 the United States and Vietnam conducted a prisoner exchange of 142 men. (Sterba, 1973). If these practices were used in the past then why are they not acceptable in today’s society? There are a lot of things that we can say that we do not agree with what our President has done and not done, but this is one thing that he did correctly; freeing our Prisoner of War from rebel forces. I agree Congress was not aware of what was going to happen and they did not have a say so in the exchange but this has happen before with other Presidents as well. Whether or not if there......

The county stated that they have been working with the family for almost two years and no results. There have been a few cases in America that children have been taken from their families because of being obese. Doctors state that placing the child in foster care is better for the child than having the gastro bypass surgery. Children who are obese have a lower self- esteem; go through puberty earlier than those who are not obese, depression issues, and diabetes. They have a higher chance of being obese as an adult. There are some to believe the food industry use the ideas in this paper are used as smokescreens. They believe that these are excuses to protect themselves from lawsuits. Some local governments are trying to stop restaurants from being open near schools and parks. They want more police protection near parks in order for children to feel safer while playing at the park. They also want to add taxes to junk food to help limit the amount children would buy. Minorities are who suffer from childhood obesity more than the majority. There have been many studies conducted showing these facts. ...COMM/215 CASE STUDY FOR STUDENT ANALYSIS There were two issues with Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter that ABC hired to help with hiring new trainees. One is lack of training, and the other is a lack of communication within the company. These are a couple of critical steps to having an excellent on-boarding process with a new employee. It is critical to not only the success of the new employee but for the company as well. The way a company trains and communicates the needs of the company to its new employee indicates the value they put in the individual that the company hired. If a company does not have an established training program and clear and open lines of communication with the trainees it puts less value in the trainee, and furthermore less value in the company. Background Carl Robins was hired for ABC, Inc to recruit new hires for the company. Successful in his efforts, Robins hired 15 new trainees for Monica in the operations department. However Robins was unsuccessful in getting the new employees the orientation schedule according to plan, due to lack of communication and lack of training for Carl’s position. Key Problems Several things happened that led to Carl’s performance leading up to his failure in not getting the new hires to the necessary training to start for the company. Before Carl went out and started recruiting these individuals he did not have a plan in place for when he met his goal of recruiting 15 new people for the company.......
