Not the-president- is-planning-to-bomb-Japan-and-only-Will-Smith-can-save-the-world type secrets. Just normal, everyday little secrets. Like for example, here are a few random secrets of mine, off the top of my head: 1. My Kate Spade bag is a fake. 2. I love sweet sherry, the least cool drink in the universe. 3. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is. 4. I weigh 9 stone 3. Not 8 stone 3, like my boyfriend Connor thinks. Catch Us If You Can

...HAPPY EVENT I have studied the novel “Catch Us If You Can” by Catherine MacPhail. This novel is about the love between two generations, a grandchild and a grandparent. The grandchild’s name was Rory. His grandfather was Granda. Rory’s father abandoned him when he was young and his mother had passed away. Rory and Granda had never been separated ever since Rory was a baby. In this novel, the happy event is when the family reunited. In the ending, everything worked out well for Rory and Granda. Rory’s grandfather did not die after all, although he became very ill and was unconscious at the bus stop. The readers were also uncertain if Granda would survive, as Rory waited for him to recover. Then, Rory’s father came to see Rory and Granda. Granda liked his new daughter in-law, Karen and granddaughters, Rhonda and Ava. He let them climbed all over him and kissed him. They also played with his hearing aid until it whistled. But Granda still treated his son, Jeff , badly. However, Rhonda and Ava would bring Granda round eventually. Rory’s father did his best to explain that he was young and stupid when he abandoned Rory and Rory’s mother. He wanted to make it up to Rory and took care of him. He wanted a chance to prove that he could be a good father to Rory and a good son to Granda. Rory and Granda decided to stay in Liverpool. The social services managed to get Rory and Granda a small flat very close to Rory...

What You Can Relate to

...Writing/21292 What can you relate to that Neil has experienced? I know how it feels to lose everything. I know how it feels to come from nothing struggling and fighting to get my dreams and have them taken away. I know how it feels to go through so many trials and tribulations and still be able to look at things the way he does in this matter. I have also because of everything I have gone through been able to come to the same conclusions he has. I firmly believe that everyone needs to take a step back all the time and take a look at things because he was right when he said that we all have that inner child in us. We all have that three year old in us. Most people don’t recognize that. Honestly I feel more people should take a look at that inner child and see what it sees. Life would be more rewarding. What impressed you? The fact that he was willing to share what he has gone through. Sharing his emotions. The fact that he was able to step back and come up with the steps and things he needed to do in order to make the changes in his life that was needed to be made. The fact that he was able to discuss the inner child concept. Not many people in this world really sit back and see that part of who they are or even the fact that part even exists in people let alone in themselves. The fact that he talks about how people basically go through trial and error to get to where they are today in life. Life is like a puzzle. If you keep working at it. Someday you will get to where......

Catch Me If You Can

...Catch Me if You Can: An Entertaining Roller Coaster Ride Imagine having the ability to become an airline co-pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer all before turning the age of twenty-one. Well believe it or not; this became a reality for Frank Abagnale Jr. as he infiltrated the system in the 1960’s. The Steven Spielberg directed movie “Catch Me if You Can” brings out this true story, in which a sixteen year old runaway Frank Abagnale Jr. (played by Leonardo Dicaprio) began his “brilliant three year run as a master of deception” (Hollywood.com). In this three year stint, he also forges over a million dollars of fake checks across the country, creates several aliases for himself, and manages to become the youngest person on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Carl Hanratty, an FBI Bank Fraud Agent (played by Tom Hanks) engages with Abagnale Jr. in what Starpulse.com calls a “a highly enjoyable cat-and–mouse escapade.” After Frank Abagnale Jr. was eventually caught, Carl Hanratty realized that Abagnale’s check-savviness could be a benefit to his department in the FBI. He later went on to have a successful career as an FBI Agent in Check Fraud, instead of facing a timely prison sentence. The movie flows well due to a plethora of acting skills, well-written dialogue, and an entertaining back and forth battle that Abagnale Jr. encounters with Hanratty and also within himself. “Catch Me’s acting shines,” Hollywood.com raves. The movie contains a respectable and veteran class of Hollywood......

...and irrigate their crops. The film saved Shindo's company when it was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival in 1961.[12] Shindo made his first ever trip abroad to attend the Moscow film festival, and he was able to sell the film in sixty-one countries.[1] After making two more films of social relevance (Ningen in 1962 and Mother in 1963), Shindo shifted his focus as a filmmaker to the individuality of a person, specifically a person's sexual nature. He explained: "Political things such as class consciousness or class struggle or other aspects of social existence really come down to the problem of man alone....I have discovered the powerful, very fundamental force in man which sustains his survival and which can be called sexual energy...My idea of sex is nothing but the expression of the vitality of man, his urge for survival."[3] From these new ideas came Onibaba in 1964 Onibaba stars Nobuko Otowa and Jitsuko Yoshimura as 14th-century Japanese peasants in a reed-filled marshland who survive by killing and robbing defeated samurai. The film won numerous awards and the Grand Prix at the Panama Film Festival,[3] and Best Supporting Actress (Jitsuko Yoshimura) and Best Cinematography (Kiyomi Kuroda) at the Blue Ribbon Awards in 1964. Shindo continued his exploration of human sexuality with Akuto in 1965 and Lost Sex in 1966. In Lost Sex, a middle aged man who has become temporarily impotent after the Hiroshima bombing in 1945, once again loses......

Can You Trust the Trustworthy?

...Ryan Balcarce Mrs. Green English Comp. 1 25 September 2015 Can You Trust the Trustworthy? Topic: Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective." Describe a time when your perspective changed. How did your perspective change and why did it change? “On my honor, I will never betray my country, my integrity, my character, or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the laws my nation and the agency I serve.” The people that take this oath are considered the finest, and noblest people that decided to, selflessly and humbly, dedicate their life to the greater good. According to the oath police officers are supposed to embody honor, faithfulness, integrity, character, courage, accountability, community, and wield the public’s trust. The question is: how many police officers are actually like this? How many can purge themselves of all selfish, irrational beliefs and treat everyone equally? I used to believe that most police officers were exactly what the oath said they were with the minority being the wicked ones, but recently I am starting to believe that reality is the opposite. I’m starting to believe that the wicked police officers are the majority and the just are scarce. “FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) - A shooting in Ferguson has tensions riding high between residents and......

If You Can Dream It, You Do It

...IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT...!! In childhood, we all have had many crazy dreams. But how many of us would really go behind those dreams and pursue them?? Time changes everything. And very few follow their dreams. It’s not that they forget their dreams, but the fear in them, pulls them back from pursuing their dreams. The courage they had in their childhood to do anything and everything is lost, the innocence is lost forever. They forget to think how much happiness it would bring into their life rather they are more concerned with what others would think if they follow their dreams. Even I have a dream, dream to be different. To stand out from the crowd, and to do things which no one ever had thought about. I always wanted to try those things which no one ever dared to do, because that helps me to know more and better of myself. I never followed anyone, because I never wanted to do the exact things what others did in their life. I wanted to be different, different from what others do and think. For me doing things differently, always means discovering myself, knowing more about myself, because what I always believe is, “if we want to do something different, we have to do that one thing which we feel we can’t do. Sometimes we may fail, but then we can proudly say, I’M DIFFERENT.” And for me the most daring thing is to be myself and to do exactly what I want to do at that point in time and not to be worried with what other people think or are doing. Yes I know......

Frank Sr. believes his son’s lies until Detective Hanratty visits him one day asking the whereabouts of Frank Jr. Frank Sr. lies to the detective and claims to know nothing of Frank’s current location, protecting his son despite being hurt by the truth. At one point Frank Jr. comes back home to his father to convince him yet again that the family can be put back together. Frank Sr. tells his son that this can never happen as well as his son “stopping all this nonsense”. Frank Jr. begs his father to tell him to stop but the only words his father has are “you can’t”. Frank is eventually tracked down in France and extradited to the U.S. under the assumption he will work for the FBI under Hanratty’s supervision. Frank agrees and becomes one of the leading investigators for the FBI fraud division using his extensive knowledge to decipher new ways to stop criminals just like him. All of the personas Frank portrayed in the movie were in fact true. Some were given up for different reasons, not just for the fact that he was being chased by the FBI. His longest impersonation (11 months) was that of a doctor in Georgia who was created solely to impress a landlord who he thought......

All You Can Eat

...All You Can Eat Recently I had some family in town and they wanted to eat somewhere that they did not have in their home town. Being as we live in Wyoming, this was about everything. We eventually decided we were going to go eat at Red Lobster. This was not my first choice as I don’t like paying an arm and a leg for dinner, but once we walked in the door I was glad that is where we decided to go. This was one of the best meals I have had from a restaurant in a long time for the service was amazing, the atmosphere was comfortable, and it was their All You Can Eat Shrimp promotion. We started our experience at the front door like all guests. We were immediately greeted by their host Amy who had a big smile on her face and a warm welcome. And even though there was a little bit of a wait, she kept us informed on how long we were going to be waiting and that helped out a lot. Then once we were seated our server Cassandra came by and told us what the specials were and took our drink orders. The whole evening she was right there, making sure that we had everything that we needed and made our meal move along very smoothly. To say the least, she was one of the best servers that I have seen, and the service was just the start of it! The atmosphere of the restaurant was about perfect. It wasn’t too hot or too cold at our table. The music was loud enough that I could not hear the conversation at the next table but quiet enough that I could still hear the one that was......
