Credo reference is an in-depth library database website with limitless options for furthering research. The website features many search options like; an encyclopedia search, a dictionary search, a quotation search, a quotation search, a crossword solver, and it even has a link for measurement conversions. The website also features an image search. Overall the website is very easy to use and can be used for any type of school related subject or leisure related subject. This is a website that I see myself using in the future and I highly recommend it.
On the right hand side of the page, the website features many search options each offering multiple resources. When you click on encyclopedia search engine, you are brought to a page that gives you several different categories to search through. There is a “general” category that list a few encyclopedias that cover broad topics, and there are specific subjects like; art, business, food and beverage, geography, history, law, literature, medicine, music, philosophy, psychology, religion, science, social sciences, and technology. And underneath each subject there are lists of different encyclopedias that are based on those subjects. Since this is a business writing class, I clicked on the “Capstone Encyclopedia of Business” and I was taken to a page that had a list of specific headings in alphabetical order. The headings consisted of specific topics such as; affirmative action, baby boomers, depreciation, and much more. When I clicked on the affirmative action topic, I was taken to a page that described affirmative action in great detail. All in all, the encyclopedia section has a limitless amount of information that can help with any type of research.
Next, I clicked on the Dictionary search engine. Like the encyclopedia search engine, the dictionary search engine had many different categories. There category for English and bilingual dictionaries and several subject specific dictionaries such as; art, business, food and beverage, geography, history, language, law, literature, medicine, music, philosophy, religion, science, social sciences, and technology. Under the business subject I clicked on the “Dictionary of Business.” I was brought to a page with a massive list of business terminology in alphabetical order. For an example I clicked on “apportion” and I was given a dictionary definition. “To share out something, e.g. costs funds or blame.” The dictionary search engine can be extremely helpful for research projects and various assignments on any topic.
The biography search engine was a little different than the previous two. There was list of different books that contained biographies of different types of people. I clicked on “100 CEOs” and I was taken to a list of biographies that it contained. I clicked on a link that took me to Bill Gate’s biography and the page was set up just like a Wikipedia page. Wikipedia might actually be a more useful option for biographies.
The following search engine is the quotations search engine. There are eight different resources and each of them thousands of quotes of quotes from famous people throughout various time periods. I clicked on the “Bloomsbury Biographical Dictionary of Quotations” and I was taken to a page had a list of famous people who mostly lived in the 188’s in alphabetical order. I clicked on Jefferson, Thomas (1743 – 1826) and there was a quote that read “The whole commerce between master and slave is a perpetual exercise of the most unremitting despotism on the one part, and degrading submissions on the other.” This is a very powerful quote and it could be extremely useful if someone were to do a research paper on slavery.
The next search engine was a unique search engine and it was something that I have never seen before. It was a crossword solver, this may not be an important tool but it can be extremely useful to someone who likes to solve crossword puzzles. The search engine allows you to enter in the letters that you have solved, and for the empty spaces you put in a (?) and click search. After that, a large list of possible words are displayed. For example, I typed b?n?r? into the search bar and clicked “search,” the database then came up with seven possible answers; banere, bangri, baniri, bantry, bendre, benfro, and binary. Also when you click on any of the results you are given a dictionary definition of the word. This probably isn’t the most important resource for a research paper, but it is helpful for someone who likes crossword puzzles.
The last search engine on the right hand side of the page is the extremely useful measurement converter. It converts area, distance, energy, fuel consumption, power, speed, temperature, volume, and weight. This is an extremely useful tool because the majority of the world uses the metric system and converting certain numbers into American units.
The database also has an image search similar to Google where you type in a subject and multiple images related to that subject come up. What makes the image search on the Credo reference website a little different is that when you search your subject, the images that come up are taken directly from the dictionaries and encyclopedias within the database. For example, I typed in business and several images from business related encyclopedias and dictionaries came up.
All in all, Credo reference is an in-depth library database website with limitless options for furthering research. The website features many search options like; an encyclopedia search, a dictionary search, a quotation search, a quotation search, a crossword solver, and it even has a link for measurement conversions. The website also features an image search that takes images from within the database rather than the entire internet. Overall the website is very easy to use and can be used for any type of school related subject or leisure related subject. This is a website that I see myself using in the future and I highly recommend it.…...

...Wiley & Sons, Milton, Qld. Which style does my faculty or school use? Some Schools require a different style from the one outlined here. Use the citation style required by your Faculty or School. Why reference your sources? It is important to reference the sources you use for essays and reports, so that the reader can follow your arguments and check your sources. It is essential to correctly acknowledge the author when quoting or using other people’s ideas in your work. How do I use Harvard? 1. In-text citations are made like this Paraphrasing and in-text citations Example: The point made by an analytic philosopher (O'Connor 1969, p. 32) is that values cannot be justified in this way. However Kneller (1963b, p. 102) insists that the theorist will inevitably be involved in value claims. Note: Page, chapter or section numbers may be included in the in-text citation if the cited work is long and information helps the reader locate the relevant information. When the authors name is mentioned in-text (e.g. Kneller in the example above) add year and page numbers only to the in-text reference. Entries that have the same author and year are noted by adding a, b, c etc. to the year, both in-text e.g. Kneller (1963b, p. 102) and in the Reference List (See entries in Reference List below). rev. ...requires that Scripture be interpreted in a way that is consistent with its context. This means that a passage must be interpreted in a way that is consistent with the audience to which it is written, those it is written about, whom it is written by, and so on. It is critical to know the author, intended audience, and historical background of each passage one interprets. The historical and cultural setting will often reveal the correct meaning of a passage. It is also important to remember that Scripture interprets Scripture. That is, often a passage will cover a topic or subject that is also addressed elsewhere in the Bible. It is important to interpret all of these passages consistently with one another. • The Bible makes many references to the fact that God's people should be in watchful expectation of the coming of Christ. If the Rapture was not going to occur until after the Great Tribulation, then we would not need to be watching for the Rapture now, but we would be looking for the Tribulation to start. But, if it is clear that Christ will take all or part of the church, before the Tribulation, then our personal preparation for the Bridegroom's appearance is a pressing matter that should not be delayed. Since the Rapture will have taken all true Christians, one might ask how there are believers during The Tribulation. There could well be hundreds of thousands of immediate conversions right after the Rapture by those who had heard the Gospel, and though they......

Credo on Humanity

...Credo on Humanity Psalm 8 tells us that God created mankind and crowned him with glory and honor. Genesis 1 and 2 tells us that God created Adam and Eve in his own image, breathing life into them. While not fully understood, we know that being created in God’s image makes us responsible for our actions, have the ability to conscious living, have relationships and make covenants, and have the capability of worshiping our creator. Humans are relational beings. God knew that man should not be alone (Genesis 2:18) and needed to be in relationship with another human being. Adam was surrounded with God’s creation and even in a personal relationship with his creator, but God had planted a need for him to be in relation with other human beings. God therefore created Eve, a partner that complements Adam. Man and woman are equal in status and in responsibility for actions and choices before God (Galatians 3:28), but have different strengths and weaknesses. Mankind was also created to work and rest. Adam was charged to care for the garden and its inhabitants (Genesis 2:15ff). God commanded the Israelites to rest (Genesis 20:8ff) and provided an example to us by resting on the seventh day of creation (Genesis 2:2). Part of the curse of the fall was difficulty in our work, becoming toilsome and burdensome, but it is still considered to be valuable and worthy of merit. Mankind’s relationship with God was broken when Adam and Eve partook of the tree of the knowledge of......

Credo

...Thinking and Writing Instructor: Dr. Coniglio Anmol Singh 17 November 2013 Credo: This I Believe I believe in Time that time is my ally. With time everything seems to be in just the right position as I want it to be. I think to myself, sometimes that time can be good or bad both but I choose to believe that with time whatever has happened with me it all goes away and then I get to start fresh, whether it’s a relationship, friendship, family matter or anything. Time is not only my ally but it is also a cure for my life and the way things go around in my life. Time heals the pain, the regrets and whatever I’ve done to hurt anyone. Time gives me to think about what matters the most in my life at this point. It gives me the strength and I am the type of person who believes that everything at the end just turns out to be fine and just the way I want it to make it happen. As I believe, time doesn’t wait for anyone; I respect time for each and every second that counts. Any moment that I can make it to be a perfect moment will always be done in due time. For me time is just a crucial part of my life because the way people take things so easily it’s just a waste and they don’t seem to realize it and when they do then they regret it, and I don’t like to regret things in my life....

...work. The last source that I feel like will contribute to my paper is the child specialist article. My whole paper revolves around child welfare specialist and child abuse and neglect. So I feel like this article is very helpful because it lets you know exactly what the role of child welfare specialist is. Because of the ever growing numbers of children with learning disabilities, a new idea, one of a “child specialist” is presented. According to Sapir (1984) the role of the “child specialist” is clear and the ethics and philosophy supporting this method are deliberated. The importance of this new role originates from the many socio-economic forces in our society which are counter-productive to children’s best welfares. 4 Reference Johnson, C.F. (2004). Credo by Christian Buckner

...CREDO by E. Christian Buckner I believe that of all human functions the gift of speech is the most miraculous. I believe that, if speech were to stop, all civilized living would suddenly vanish. I believe that the ability to articulate is essential to inner harmony, to emotional maturity, and to mental balance. If all people could be completely articulate at all times, human relations might improve to the point where there would be no more wars and no more jails, more stable homes and more happy people. I believe that speech is essential to the growth of the human personality and that it provides a way for self-discovery and self-renewal. For many, it is a way of self-expression without brush or pen. I believe that the act of speech is a total process, that when it reaches optimum effectiveness, the whole man communicates. What one is, is always part of what one says. I believe that there is no substitute for content in the speaking process. Material or intellectual worth provides the essence of eloquence. Speech skills have their importance, but they no more make speech than clothes make the man. The center of gravity in all speech communications is thought and idea. I believe that every student should develop a concern for truthful and responsible speech, exhibiting sense – not non-sense, sincerity – not cleverness, forthrightness – not superficiality, and should never be a party to plagiarized or dishonest work. I believe that speech has no absolutes, that a......

Credo

...------------------------------------------------- MY CURRENT ETHICAL CREDO Danielle August 10, 2015 What is Right or Wrong? Asking the question what is right from wrong not only makes you think about the question itself, but when you are answering the question your answer is molded by your influenced surroundings, the culture you are brought up in, and the mental state you have at that time. There are many opinions of what is right from wrong and I do not believe that there is a correct answer. We all have different viewpoints about a particular subject and some of us value a particular belief more than others. My beliefs come from my upbringing and my life experiences. I determine what is right from wrong through my perception of Natural Law, Deontology, Virtue and Care Ethics. God is always perfectly rational, he would never be out of line with Natural Law. I feel that this theory builds my entire belief system. I believe God puts challenges in front of us to see how we will handle and react in a certain situation. I do feel Natural Law uses reason to tell us the specific human laws and they are consistently aligned within each other. In present time, putting our human laws into practice by updating them due to the circumstances, times, and understanding; I feel is perfectly rational within our Natural Law. As a Catholic Christian I try to find my footing within my own religion and find myself doubting some of the practices within the church. Although my opinion......

Personal Credo

...Major Module 2: Assignment: Instructions and Grading Rubric DIRECTIONS: Personal Credo: Psychology is a science that pervades nearly every moment of every day of our lives. To provide just one small example, consider the complex psychological and physiological processes involved in forming thoughts, communicating with others, and remembering both happy and sad memories. The very manner in which you engage (or do not engage) with others in the world around you has been derived from a series of influences on you, both genetic and environmental, that have shaped you into the person you are today. Thus, we are the amalgamation of collective influences on us, from our families and friends to our coworkers and larger society. It is my firm conviction that to appreciate who we are and what we stand for, it is important to periodically self-reflect and consider our life experiences, those things important to us, and our current direction in life. To assist you in doing this, I will ask that each of you complete a “personal credo.” This term may be somewhat alien to you, so I will explain what materials are to be included in this brief summary of who you are. Submit your assignment via the Dropbox no later than Sunday 11:59 PM EST/EDT. (This Dropbox basket is linked to Turnitin.) The word “credo” relates to a personal set of values or beliefs. For this class, conceptualize your personal credo as a brief autobiographical statement that details not only important......
