The Call of the Wild School is like a jungle, there is no telling where someone will end up. Being at a new place for the first time can be scary and dangerous. One wrong look and someone’s life could be over. Here are a few tips to surviving your first year at Tennessee Tech University. Know where things are located, go to class, and eat healthy and stay active. First, there are quite a few buildings on campus. Knowing what those buildings are called and where they are located would be important information for the first day of classes. You do not want to be the guy that waits till the day of classes running around like a chicken with its head cut off asking everyone where the building is and getting lost; you will end up being late or even missing your first class. If you end up doing that, do not panic by any means. Your RA is so nice enough to leave a campus map on your bed from move in day. Take advantage of that map! It was a life saver to me. It will show you where every building is. Plus you need to know that room numbers go from smallest on the first floor to biggest on the upper. Every hall has its number right before you exit the stairs. That is my word of advice for incoming student’s, please take this advice to the heart. Second tip for the day, go to class! I know, I know you hear it from everybody. But, listen to me when I say it. I do not care if your class has 267 students, go to class. I do not care if your professor tells you, “I will not be taking attendance, and I will have every recording online and all the notes that go with it.” This is a lie! Do not let them fool you. Most of these “wonderful” teachers give extra credit for those who attend the class. For example, my calculus class is like that and I did not go to class on Fridays at all, well she decided to give the people in there extra credit… Also one time I did not go to class and it just so happened that the notes and recording did not work that day so I had no clue how to do the homework assigned to us. I know it is hard, trust me I did it. I did not want to wake up for class at 8 am, nobody does except those nerds that go to bed at 6 pm. It is hard to go to a class right after lunch trust me, I have them. My belly is full and my body is tired, those are the times I hate classes the most. But once again, the teachers do not care that your belly is full or you body is tired, they only care about teaching and if you are not there you do not learn and they fail you; sad face. So, I say it now and I will say it forever, go to class! Last tip from Victoria the wise one, stay healthy. There is this monster that takes over your body and it looks like you might have ate that monster. Yes, the freshman fifth teen is real and it is very common. You may have not even noticed till then end when it is all said and done. The food on campus is good, it is, but it is also very unhealthy and a place where this monster is hiding out. I advise new comers to eat at the cafeteria more than other places. The cafeteria had a wide range of food. They have everything, from spaghetti one day to tortellini the next. The great thing about the cafeteria is that you can have vegetables and fruit with your food. This could make or break someone. Yes, if you eat pizza from the cafeteria everyday you would be eating the monster, but if you eat the vegetables and have good healthy meals there is a great chance you will avoid the monster. Hey, if you want to eat whatever then go ahead. We have this thing called the fit, it is a workout place and they just about every toy you could imagine. You will probably need a workout buddy to stay active because you could both push each other to get better. These workout buddies help the monster to either go away or stay away. Either way the monster lurks anywhere at any time. Keep my advice and you will not have a problem with this nasty guy. In conclusion, there are lots of tips to surviving this place. I only named a few, but the few I chose are very helpful and should be taken quite seriously. There is no need for you to go freaking out about your first year after reading my helpful information. I hope you have a better outlook and more logical one at that about your first year at college. Enjoy the time while it lasts because the year will be over soon and it will be your turn to tell the newbie’s your tips to surviving the first year at college.…...

...Reflection Paper #2 Introduction On this reflection paper, the topics I choose were the “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” and the “Rapture”. I choose these topics because they both bring topics of debate with them. There are many different views on these two topics and I will try to shed some light on them. Through Biblical research and theological definitions, we will try to discover the purpose and meanings of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Rapture. The first topic of discussion is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This topic stirs up much debate in the denominational realms of the church. There are many different views and standpoints on this topic. John 1:33 states that when John the Baptist, after witnessing the descent of the Holy Spirit as a dove at the baptism of Jesus, recorded these words: “He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost”. Later Jesus promised His disciples, “Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence” (Acts 1:5). On the day of Pentecost, the disciples had a number of experiences involving the Holy Spirit, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The disciples spoke in tongues to address the gospel of Christ to many different nations in attendance of Pentecost. This event was the start of the church and its spread of the gospel of Christ to all nations. Many Christians today have......

...Project Management - BUS 518 Assignment #2 "GPS-to-GO Takes on Garmin" 1. Analyze the personality and temperament of Joseph Thomas. From what I gather, Joseph Thomas is a weak leader. He could not manage his people well. He have great ideas and insights but could not see them through. Although he could see errors early on, he did not bring the attention of the people he can see fault in. He have ideas that would have ensured the redesigning would not be needed in the first place, but he chose to stay quiet. Joseph Thomas hesitates too much on taking a definitive action. He has lots of plans and ideas, and he has insights of what is going wrong, but he did not act as he should. He always think or complain about lack of resources as well, even without confirming with the boss, he was already sure that the idea of redesigning would be shoot down because of the lack in resources. He also believe that he did not have good men under him. The truth is, any leader does not have enough resources, but what differentiates a good leader from a weak one is that the good leader figure out how to get the job done properly with what they have. Lastly, Joseph Thomas does not take responsibility. He blamed everyone except himself. 2. Separate the four (4) steps in the project life cycle and comment about how Joseph Thomas moved through them. ...types of organizational structures are functional and divisional structures. 1. Definitions o Functional organizational structure consists of an executive officer and his staff, along with functional managers and their respective departments, such as: sales, accounting, manufacturing, service, delivery and others. In a divisional organizational structure, various departments are grouped in order to produce a given product or service. There are three types of divisional structures: product structures, geographic structures and customer structures. 2. Strengths o Functional structure works best for organizations that only produce a few products. One of its main advantages is that employees within functional departments are highly specialized and thus are very skilled and knowledgeable. Another advantage is that with functional structure, it's easy to accomplish functional goals specific to certain departments, such as: reach $2 million in sales, increase production speed by 5 percent, or allocate resources more effectively. The main strength of the divisional structure is that it is very adaptable to fast changes and to differences between products, geographic locations or customers. Also, it involves collaboration between various functions, which leads to innovation. 3. Weaknesses o There are two main weaknesses in the functional organizational structure: it responds very slowly to change, and it may take too long for decisions to be made because of the hierarchy of......

...education opportunities. The poem “Them for English B” argues that black people suffer from terrible education environment. The poem “Theme for English B”, from a character of a black student, states that a white professor did not respect a black student. The black student lives in Harlem where mostly black people live. Most of black students cannot access better education. The black student is only one black student in the class. He feels that the professor discriminates against him because the professor is not patient to talk with him. “The instructor said, Go home and write a page tonight. And let that page come out of you” (ln.1). Commonly, when a professor usually assigns a paper, he or she will give some guide to student no just command a student to write a paper. The white professor does not give him any guideline and has negative attitude to speak to the black student so the black student feels unfair and uncomfortable. It is because he never has equal treatment as other students who may get some guide or help from professor. Moreover, the Student also asks himself “so will my page be colored that I write?”(ln.22)In fact, he criticizes the professor should not judge a student by skin color and he satires the professor will lose studying resources from African Americans. Academic writing should not limit under race. Moreover, American resources and chances also should not be limited to be used by white. The black student is confident because he thinks......

...First Response Paper From: Peng Wang 09/02/2013 When we want to discuss why do exchange rates have an effect on the trade balance, we need to figure out what is the trade balance and exchange rate first. According to my knowledge, the trade balance refers to the value of all the goods and services we sell to other countries (exports) minus the value of all the goods and services we buy from foreigners (imports). There are three results of the trade balance : trade surplus, trade deficit and trade even. The exchange rate refers that between two currencies what is the rate at which one currency will be exchanged for another. In m opinion, the currency is just like any other commodity; its price will go up and down depends on supply and demand. The supply is decided by the government's printing press. The supply is not always constant , governments can always print more money, or buy more bonds in return for returning more dollars into the economy, then demand is the most important factor which is mainly depends on the customers in that country. In all markets, currency is affected by its supply and demand. The supply and demand for a given currency also results in changes to its value. The more foreign countries want to hold a certain currency, the more it is worth, and the less they want it, the less it is worth. There are many factors that affect demand for a currency, such as interest......

...Kehbila Lima Issues in Accounting Research Prof. Allen J. Rubenfield Paper 2 The Jane, CPA Dilemma Independence is perhaps one of the most important attributes of the public accountant. Before pursuing a course of action to resolve ethical dilemmas, a CPA may want to consult with legal counsel, applicable professional bodies, and appropriate firm or employer personnel. The AICPA[1] provides an ethics hotline to assist members in this and other ethics issues. Going through the case, one can see that there are a few breaches of some accounting rules and there is a dilemma about what exactly Jane’s responsibilities are and what she should do in this situation. What are Jane’s responsibilities? What are the issues in the case? There is the question of ethics and responsibilities both as a member of the board of directors and also as a CPA. Should Jane disclose to the board about the financial position of her client? Or should she maintain client confidentiality and allow the bank to lend money to her client knowing her client is on the brink of bankruptcy? In my opinion, there was a breach of the ethics and responsibilities on the part of Jane as a CPA. In the following paragraphs, I will analyze the case and suggest what Jane should do or should have done. To begin with, as a CPA, Jane is supposed to abide......

... What is marriage? The dictionary says that marriage is the formal union of a man and a woman, which is recognized by law.1 So now that we know what the definition of marriage means, what is the biblical teaching on marriage? In the book of Genesis, God made woman out of man because He saw that man was lonely and that was not good. God did this because He wanted man to not be alone, so God made a helper for man. He created her to come alongside man and be united as one. L.I. Granberg and J.R. Root said, “God instituted marriage so that men and women might complete one another and share in His creative work through the procreation of children.”2 When does the man and woman become married according to the Bible? The Bible does not really say when a couple is married, but there are some viewpoints. These viewpoints are intercourse and having a wedding ceremony. The Bible does say that a couple is married once the couple has sexual intercourse. God considers any man and woman having sex to be married.3 By this, they are considered one. People who believe this viewpoint use 1 Corinthians 6:16, which says, “Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, ‘The two will become one flesh.’” You may say, “what about people who are unmarried and are having sex? When this happens it is called fornication. Fornication is a form of sexual immorality and God does not approve of this. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3, states,......

...Reflection Paper 2 Eduardo E. Mendez HLTH 551 Liberty University   Part I “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6, NIV) Summary From the very first time man sinned in Eden, the question of deception, truth, and lies has been a difficult one. Our enemy, satan, is the father of lies. Jesus Himself said to the Jews, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44, NIV) Jesus is the truth; satan is the deceiver. The question remains, who is our real father? We want our answer to be Jesus, and once we receive Him as Lord and Savior our salvation is sealed, and our names are written in the Book of Life, yet who’s character do we reflect? It seems a lie can often be excused if it is said with good intentions. However, lying is never excused or encouraged in the Bible, on the contrary, many are the warnings against it including the ninth commandment which exhorts us to never “give false testimony”. (Exodus 20:16, NIV). Although not an easy task in this fallen world, it should be a Christian’s desire to be more like Jesus, and “speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ”. (Ephesians 4:15, NIV). Part......
