...The five components of physical fitness are: Cardiovascular endurance, muscle endurance, muscle strength, flexibility and body composition. Engaging in a physical fitness program can benefit each of the five health related components of physical fitness because the program provides people with all different activities to satisfy each component. The exercises offered in the program for the cardiovascular endurance helps the body to become more efficient, better cope with physical challenges, and better resists chronic diseases. These exercises are good for the heart by maintaining or increasing the heart’s own blood and oxygen supply, increasing the heart muscle’s function, so it pumps more blood per beat, strengthening the heart’s contraction, increasing the heart’s cavity size, increasing blood volume so the heart pushes more blood into the circulatory system during each contraction, and reducing blood pressure. Also, the exercises given to satisfy the muscle endurance and muscle strength aspect of physical fitness are beneficial because they can improve performance of physical activities, they can prevent injuries, improve body Composition, increase fat-free mass, which raises metabolism, enhance self-image and quality of life, improve muscle and bone health with aging (strength training can prevent muscle and nerve degeneration brought about by aging), and strength training helps prevent and manage both CVD and diabetes. Next, flexibility exercises, which may arguably be......

...Chapter 2 Total health and fitness lifestyle benefits What Is Total Health and Fitness? The term total health (wellness) and fitness may be defined in a variety of ways. The most commonly used definition incorporates 5 areas- the mental, emotional, spiritual, social and physical. Although each area is important to your total health and well being, in this text we will only emphasize the physical characteristics of total health. However, since no single area can stand fully separated from the rest, we will discover how small parts of each area are inevitably intertwined with each other. When defining physical fitness, two terms are commonly used: health related fitness, and athletic performance related fitness (also referred to as motor, or skill fitness). The components of these two types are as follows: Health related fitness • Cardiovascular endurance • Muscular strength • Muscular endurance • Muscle and joint flexibility • Body composition (lean mass vs. fat mass) Athletic Performance Related Fitness (motor or skill fitness) • Cardiovascular endurance • Muscular strength • Muscular endurance • Muscle and joint flexibility • Body composition • Coordination • Speed • Agility • Power • Balance • Reaction time • Neurological efficiency Although the five components of health fitness are included in athletic fitness, the additional......

...A and P Health and Fitness Paper My fitness goal is for me to run a mile in under six minutes in the four week range I had. I chose this goal because this would benefit me for my health and sports wise. the motivation that made me pick this particular goal is that i needed to get my encurance/cardio up in general. i usually go to the gym and do weights but never cardio or the tredmill. This goal would even benefit me in baseball for numerous reasons. I wouldnt get tired easy with any exercises i do in anything. i would even think this goal could get me stronger in the legs too. To attain this goal i set myself some steps to achieve this goal. I put myself on a god leg workout plan. Working out my legs would get me more faster than i am now. Another routine i did was run with some of the track team. The track team had some helpful routines and tips for running the mile. Spme of the runners timed me on the miles i ran each week. I would get faster because i also ran sprints that got my cardio up. After i usually ran the tredmil at home in the evening. I kept track of my routines on a log that was given to me prior to the goal i set. To me this goal wasnt very difficult for me as i worked through the steps because i set myself at a good pace for everything. The relevant information i searched for my goal was alright. It mainly told me what to eat or some workout routines. I seartched on how to get faster mile times on google. It gave me some websites but mainly......

...Olajumoke Oke-Bell Fitness Walking Tuesday/Thursday 8:00am – 9:05 Three important factors that needs to be considered in order to incorporate exercise into our daily lives. a) First, lack of exercise is harmful to our health. Sadly, many Americans today are leading a sedentary lifestyle because of modern conveniences. This cause many overall health issues. The most serious crisis is the condition of being overweight or obese. According to the report by Lunau, Kate, “Don’t just sit there: It’s tied to obesity, diabetes, even cancer… and daily exercise won’t make up for it. In 2004, 66% of US adults were obese, 16% of American children were overweight, with another 34% at risk of becoming overweight. These statistics, as startling as they are, are expected to rise even more. In fact, US researchers predicted that 75% of Americans will be overweight by the year 2015. What’s more, a sedentary lifestyle, also linked to the development of many illnesses, such as cardiovascular (or heart) disease, strokes, certain forms of cancer, and high blood pressure. These serious health issues can be prevented by adding exercise to our daily lifestyle. b) Next, is the biggest misconception that exercise has to be a chore? People who shy away from exercising say it’s either too difficult or too time consuming. WRONG! Too often, people assume the only ways to exercise are to go to the gym or to go for a run, but in reality the best way to keep you and your family fit is to make exercise......

...A fitness centre is a place where people come to work out. It provides several types of exercise equipment for the purpose of physical exercise. Fitness centers are usually patronized by both sexes. But there are also exclusive centers for either sex. Many fitness centers choose to have a ladies-only workout area. Fitness centers offer a collective and often entertaining and informal form of working out as opposed to a typical gym. For instance they may offer classes in Yoga, Pilates, Tai chi, Dance exercises, etc. Fitness centers usually have a main workout area, which houses equipment like free weights like dumbbells and barbells and exercise machines. This area may have mirrors so that patrons can check and maintain correct posture during their workout. For cardiovascular exercises, there will be a Cardio area. This will have many types of cardiovascular training-related equipment like rowing machines, stationary exercise bikes, elliptical trainers and treadmills. These areas may also include a number of audio- visual displays (either integrated into the equipment, or placed on walls around the area itself) in order to keep exercisers entertained. Newer fitness centers often offer group exercise classes. These are run throughout the week by qualified fitness instructors. There may be classes based on aerobics, cycling (spin cycle), boxing, high intensity, yoga, Pilates and muscle training. Those with swimming pools often offer aqua aerobics classes. Many......

A fitness gym is the best place to live a healthy lifestyle. Not only do they have machines that provide you to use every inch of your body, but they have supporters there as well. Personal trainers are trained not only to help you perfect a workout, but also to guide you in the right direction to living a healthy lifestyle. I enjoyed the support those personal trainers gave to me when I was on my own journey to losing weight. In 2012, I was at my heaviest at 200 lbs. While undertaking home exercises such as T25 and Insanity, I found that I hardly had any support from others. My family members were always there for me, but they could never find it in their hearts to tell me the truth; I was too big for my age. Constantly being put down by myself, I joined 24 Hour Fitness’ beginners program. With the help from others and the personal trainers that work there, I am now at my lightest. I lost 66 lbs. in 3 months and I have maintained my weight since then. I could not do it without the help of those members at 24 Hour Fitness. These machines need to be placed further apart from each other. Some of the members at 24 Hour Fitness have complained about the machines being too close. While a member is in their “zone”, it...

Private Fitness Inc - Essay - Amitam86

...everything myself.” Rosemary Worth was talking about the consequences of a theft that had recently occurred at the business she owned, Private Fitness Inc. Private Fitness was a small health club located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, an upscale community located in the Los Angeles area. The club offered personal fitness training and fitness classes of various types, including aerobics, spinning, body sculpting, air boxing, kickboxing, hip hop, step and pump, dynamic stretch, pilates and yoga. Personal training clients paid $50 per hour for their instructor and use of the club during prime time. During slower times (between 9 am and 4 pm) the price was $35 per hour. The price per student for each hour-long fitness class was $12. Some quantity discounts were offered to clients who prepaid. Unlike the large health clubs, Private Fitness did not offer membership for open access to fitness equipment and classes. Prior to starting Private Fitness, Rosemary had been working as an aerobics instructor and fitness model. She had won many local fitness competitions and was a former finalist in the Ms. Fitness USA competition. She wanted to go into business for herself to increase her standard of living by capitalizing on her reputation and knowledge in the growing fitness field and to have more time to spend with her two young children. Private Fitness had been operating for six months. To open the club, Rosemary had to use almost all of her personal savings, plus she had to......

MEGA Training – | Greg O’Gallagher   2 How To Use MEGA Training For Superhero Strength & Muscle Gains Building muscle has been grossly over-complicated in the fitness industry for the last two decades. My approach is one of simplicity. As Bruce Lee said, strip away the unessential. It’s only when you hone your training down to the essentials, do you actually experience incredible results. This is where MEGA Training comes in, or Minimum Effort Growth Acceleration Training. MEGA Training is a training style I have coined that focuses your efforts on the key exercises and lifting protocols that will produce the most powerful gains. The ability to cover all your bases over fewer workouts and fewer exercises will allow for a much faster rate of strength and muscle gains. This is because you will experience better recovery, both neural and muscular, and you will be able to train......

...“Just do it!” This is what I am constantly being told from my personal trainer when I work out at the YMCA to stay motivated to keep in shape. Fitness and health is the form of a person’s wellbeing by staying healthy and in shape. Eating healthy foods while working out and staying well hydrated is the healthiest way to becoming fit. Fitness and health can be well-defined three different ways such as mentally, physically and socially. First, fitness and health can be defined mentally by being psychologically prepared and being aware that making a change is possible. Having a positive outlook on life can be the difference between success and failure when it comes to change and improvement in one’s lifestyle. Thinking about all the positive things is what really helps while working out and staying healthy. Many people like to think about how great they will feel after they exercise and use it as motivation to keep working. Others also treat themselves to a healthy treat after. It is good idea to set some type of fitness or health goal, whether it is being mentally prepared or be willing to change the negative life style to a positive one. Second, fitness and health can be defined by being physically in shape. Working out is the main factor that will get one’s body to be physically fit. Eating healthy foods help the body with proper amount of nutrients to stay healthy. It is important to consume a decent amount of protein prior to exercising. Protein gives the body......
