Communication Theory
Cover Letter

Receiving my grade for the artifact assignment I was very disheartened to learn the grade that I earned. I deserved that grade because I did not take my time nor did I follow the directions thoroughly enough to earn a decent grade on the assignment. In the first copy of the assignment I did not put headings to the sections of the paper which was instructed by the professor. I was missing a detailed description of the theory that I chose to relate to the artifact. I didn’t have any citations which contributed to the failing grade that I received. I went back and really worked on grasping the main idea of the assignment. Any idea that was not mine in the paper I went back and cited correctly. I provided headings for the proper sections of the paper, which would make it easier for the professor to follow the flow of the paper. I put a detailed description of the theory I was analyzing in the paper and correctly cited all of the ideas that were not mine in that section. After re doing this assignment and making all the important changes I feel as though I should receive a high C or a low B depending on how well the paper is. I reconstructed the whole reference page with hope that is in the complete APA format. I really payed attention to detail this time and really put the effort in to fixing my…...

Get Up!

...TIME TO GET UP!!! The Lord showed me a tidal wave of people flooding into the body of Christ from all over the world. The people I see are teens, up to age 25 or so. Behind them in the tidal wave are hundreds and thousands of people. Parents, grandparents, children, other friends flooding in behind the teens. These kids will flood into the body of Christ, and a new hope will surge through the veins of their Fathers, Mothers, others, in part fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi 4:6: And He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse. SOME OF YOU READING THIS ARE BEING CALLED BY GOD I also saw a wall holding back this enormous flood of souls. They are being held back, waiting. There are people out there, reading this right now, who God is calling. He is calling them to break down the wall. People who have always thought, not me I'm too shy. Not me I don't have the right personality. Moses was like that. HE IS GIVING YOU IDEAS--EVEN RIGHT NOW The Lord is giving these people ideas, God inspired ideas that will reach masses of people. The ideas may seem small, but they are not small. There are people who will live their lives through, and take their last breath, having never uttered the idea that God put on their heart. They will stand before their God and be made aware of what He had entrusted them and they hid it because they were afraid. Now is the time to......

I feel I'm ready for college because I like challenges I like to work things out and see how to make something better. Than it already is. I want to go to college because I need to work on my people's skills. Even though I can make friends easy I need to improve in not talking back and listen to what is being said and not replying with my mouth but with my mind. College is a place I feel that can help me in this area. Even though just going out into the workforce may seem like a good idea I don't think it is because some jobs require a college degree and I do not want to spend the rest of my life flipping burgers at burger king. Getting this college degree has so many doors to open and the only way I can see this ever happening is getting that college degree. If I can go to college I have so much to offer I will do my up most best to work the hardest I can and make sure I don't fall even a day behind. I think I am ready for college because I have been through a lot I didn't just have an easy life so to. Speak but I had to make some grown man decisions. The Rights!

...Trafficking is broken down into many different aspects, each one more repulsive than the next. Each type of human trafficking exploits men, women, and children. Human trafficking has the following types: sexual exploitation, child soldiers, organ harvesting, and forced labor. More than half of the victims used in trafficking are used for sexual exploitation, prostitution or as sex slaves. Children are forced to fight and given weapons to use in war torn areas. Victims of organ harvesting are forced to give up their hearts or livers which are eventually sold on the black market. Forced labor victims are traditional slaves that are held captive and put to work as indentured servants, in sweatshops, or on farms. Traffickers have many methods to get their victims to perform their bidding. Many of them are forced into trafficking and do not have a way out. Some are kidnapped or taken by force from their homes. A number of them are tricked by......

Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but Get Rid of Guns

...ENGRD 310 12 March, 2014 Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but Get Rid of Guns by Molly Ivins In the “Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but Get Rid of Guns”, Molly’s Ivins main point is an absolute abolition of civilian gun ownership, and gun control in the Second Amendment. She begins her essay with a fact that she is not anti-gun, she is pro-knife. Also another fact is that as a civil libertarian she supports the Second Amendment. During the all essay she urged us to consider the pros of knifes, giving the benefits of the knife she stating that, “A general substitution of knifes for gun would promote physical fitness.” She is absolutely convinced that the guns are more dangerous than knifes, because the guns can ricochet, and it is a fact that people are less likely to be killed by cleaning their knife as they would be cleaning their gun. In this way the author shows the probability of accidental killing, and indicates the accuracy why the guns should be taken under strict control. She believes that the Second Amendment has a reliability and means exactly what is says, “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”, and she refer that a 14 years old youths, and crazy religions that should not owned a guns, because they are not a part of the Amendment. She insists that guns should be just in militia hands, and citizens also are not part of this Amendment. Then Molly Ivins......

Rights

...Social Movements Reginald Blount HIS/135 july 26, 2014 University of Phoenix Social Movements Women did not always have the rights that they have today. On March 8, 1975 in New York more than 50 women’s groups marched on Fifth Avenue to celebrate International Women’s Day. Women had demands that included 24 hour a day child care, equal job opportunities that included equal pay, access to contraceptives and abortions, civil rights, and equal pay for equal work. Originally the march was for equality, development, and peace however there were many other reasons for the march (Klemesrud, 1975). A woman’s role was restricted and they were to take care of their husband, children and the home. They were allowed to work if their husband was at war however they must return to their prior responsibilities after they returned home. The Women Liberation Movement was an opportunity for women to make a change and become independent and were able to become career minded (Kramer, 1976). Women were deprived and often kept isolated in their homes. Organizations that formed help bring the women out of the home and marching for their rights. Women wanted equality more than anything in the early 1960s. The organizations taught women social skills and political skills. Bring women together and sharing their personal concerns, personal feelings, and personal experiences with other women in the groups (Freeman, 1971). Jobs that were available to women were very few and paid poorly. The......

Is It a Right?

...European countries. This example is one of many in history that has raised the issue of whether or not great nations are justified in exerting influence over the affairs of lesser states. The issue of whether or not great nations are justified in exerting influence over the affairs of lesser states is extremely complex. Some people believe that powerful nations are not only justified but obligated to play an important role in the affairs of states that do not measure up in status or power. The main reason being that these states do not have the capabilities to handle their domestic and foreign policies without external influence of some kind. Others believe that every nation has the sovereign right to formulate domestic and foreign policies without external influence. Both groups of people are right to an extent. I do not think that the power of a nation justifies their interference in the affairs of other countries unless they influence the country for the better. Basically, great nations should never attempt to influence the affairs of lesser states if they are only looking out for their own self-interests. In the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union was not truly threatened by the reform movement. The USSR was just not prepared to take risks with a country bordering on the West. Their main concerns were their sphere of influence as well as Czechoslovakia being one of their satellite states that provided them with a buffer zone against an attack from NATO.......

Rights

...One of the greatest challenges facing the criminal justice system is the need to balance the rights of accused criminals against society’s interest in imposing punishments on those convicted of crimes. This tension is illustrated by the debate over whether defendants have the right to be represented by an attorney. Most Americans are familiar with the Miranda warning, which advises suspects of their rights that are guaranteed by the Fifth and Sixth Amendments: Criminal suspects have the right to refuse to answer questions from police; they have the right to an attorney; and if they cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for them at no charge. However, the right to a court-appointed attorney is relatively new. The federal government started providing court-appointed attorneys for felony defendants in the nineteenth century, and some states began appointing lawyers for indigent felony defendants in the early twentieth century. But in 1963, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that an attorney must be provided to all criminal defendants in state and federal cases. The case that changed American jurisprudence was Gideon v. Wainwright. Clarence Earl Gideon was a homeless ex-convict with an eighth-grade education. He was arrested in 1961 in Panama City for breaking and entering into a pool hall, a felony under Florida law. At his trial, he asked the court to appoint him a lawyer, but the judge in his case ruled that state law only allowed court-appointed attorneys for......

Rights

...4/22/2012 POS 111 Unit 4, Question 3 Visit the websites below and then write an essay explaining the distinction between civil rights and human rights. Should the United States be bound by international law concerning human rights? The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes Civil Rights as the nonpolitical rights of a citizen especially the rights of personal liberty guaranteed to the United States citizens by the 13th and 14th amendments to the constitution and by acts of Congress. Our country has been dealing with the issue of civil rights since its existence. The first Civil Rights Act was passed in 1875 which allowed equal rights for African Americans but it was struck down in 1883 because the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution can’t tell private businesses or any individual who to discriminate against. So the struggle for civil rights had to be fought harder. The promises that were made to protect civil rights in the Thirteenth Amendment were first kept then broken. Many states found their way around the flimsy wording of the Fourteenth Amendment. The case of Strauder v. West Virginia, the Supreme Court overturned a law keeping African Americans from jury duty but they refused to extend the amendment so that it contained a more narrow interpretation. One of the biggest segregation problems of our time led to a new era for civil rights which was the integration of the public school system. The NAACP, which is the National Association for the Advancement......
