Nowadays, the kinds of Sichuan Hot pot appear in every city in China and it has changed to Sichuan Hot pot culture in every Chinese feinschmecker’s (eater) mind. What is Sichuan Hotpot? It is consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Next I will conduct you to experience the look, the smell and the taste of Sichuan Hot pot. Firstly, the look of Sichuan Hot pot is very special. It is only a pan of soup before you drop vegetables and meats into pan, therefore many foreigners feel strange when they first time see it. All of dishes of Hot pot on the table are raw, and they include vegetables, tingly sliced meat, mushrooms, eggs, seafood. However, someone will say why some Sichuan Hot pot’ soup is red and some is cream-colored? The reason is in the following paragraph. After looked the Sichuan Hotpot, the smell of Sichuan Hot pot has reached us. Someone will say it hasn’t smell before drop vegetables and meats. It is true, but when you drop vegetables or meats into pan it will change. When you drop vegetables you will smell the faint scent of vegetables and when you drop meats you will smell the fragrance of meat cooking. If you put vegetables and meats together, nothing can describe the smell of it only that you want to play knife and fork. I have heard our stomach’s making noise and the feeling of appetite fill our body. The exciting time is coming; we begin to taste Sichuan Hotpot. Now I can answer why one kind is red and the other one is cream-colored. The red one taste very numb and spicy and the cream-colored one…...

Pot Legalization

...the tree. The monkey looks down from the tree and says, “Holy geez, little buddy how much did you drink??” We laugh when we hear jokes like this, but the fact of the matter is, current marijuana laws in the United States make possessing and being under the influence of pot no laughing matter. It is my resolution that the United State of America should legalize both the medical and recreational use of marijuana. This will benefit our country and its people by ending prohibition and the extremely high cost of pursuing it; it will open up a revenue stream with the potential to move or country toward financial solvency; it would allow the growth and use of hemp for widespread use, thereby benefitting our economy and the environment; and lastly, it can be more widely studied for use as an alternative to highly addictive opiate based pharmaceuticals in relieving pain and other symptoms of certain chronic diseases. I chose this subject because it hits close to home for me. When my younger brother was 15, he was caught in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Which is not really a big deal, except that he lives in my old hometown of Cincinnati, which has very strict and punitive drug laws. That little bit of pot got him expelled from school and thrown into juvenile detention, where he was introduced to and became addicted to crack cocaine. He got caught with that while in juvie, so they extended his sentence. When he was finally released at the age of 18, he was a professional......

Pol Pot

...Evaluate the impact of the Khmer Rouge on Cambodian society from 1975-1979 Cambodia became one huge labor camp under the Khmer Rouge. After deposing Lon Nol on 1975, the Khmer Rouge, led by Pol Pot began one of the most brutal regimes in human history. This not only changed the Cambodian society but also ultimately destroyed it. This was due to the extreme vision of communism, which Pol Pot wanted to implement for a perfect and a peaceful society. Prince Norodom Sihanouk always tried to maintain Cambodia’s neutrality. But with Laos and Vietnam as its borders, he knew this was impossible. After the assassination of Diem in South Vietnam, Sihanouk condemned America’s policies; in turn he allowed Viet Cong bases in Cambodia. America in regard to this started ‘Operation Menu’ from 1969, to destroy the Viet Cong bases. When Sihanouk went to visit China on 1970, the CIA deposed him because he allowed North Vietnamese and Viet Cong to have sanctuaries in Cambodia. Sihanouk was replaced by pro-American and anti-Communist Lon Nol. This marked an end of a peaceful era in Cambodia. As soon as Lon Nol gained the power, he ordered the communist to leave Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge and the Viet Cong in retaliation to this launched an attack against the Lon Nol government. After a five year civil war between Lon Nol’s Royal Cambodian army, Viet Cong, North Vietnamese and the Khmer Rouge and over 600 000 Cambodians died, Lon Nol left Cambodia on 1st April 1975. Seventeen days later......

Legalize Pot

...Legalizing Pot In class we had a highly engaging debate about the legalizing recreational marijuana. I was on the side where I believed that we should legalize it. On this side it was hard to say something positive other than the job opportunities and money it would bring because everything ties back to the medical purpose that some users use marijuana for. Twenty-three states have legalized marijuana in some way. I believe that if alcohol and cigarettes are legal than so should marijuana. Alcohol overdose caused nearly twenty five thousand deaths in 2013 and contributed to about sixteen thousand deaths. Cigarettes caused for five hundred thousand deaths in two thousand thirteen with medical bills near one hundred forty billion. Thing two are the most harmful legal drugs, with no benefit to the people while marijuana does have its benefits. You might say that marijuana smoke can affect your lungs and that is true it can. One thing that sets marijuana apart from other drugs is that there are numerous ways of taking it. Marijuana edibles are the most common way of in taking marijuana without smoking it. 749,825 Americans have been arrested for marijuana law violations in 2013. All those people that were arrested for having possession of marijuana their respective states spent money on a judge, officers, and other law informant necessities. Marijuana is linked to helping some cancer patients who suffer from the nausea caused by chemotherapy and helping the appetite......

Hot Tubs

...The Fully Realized Hot Tub Human -Marilyn Owen Poet and speaker, David Whyte, likes to sprinkle his talks about poetry, creativity, and philosophy with wry references to the “fully realized hot tub humans in California”. (1) I understand the stereotype he gently mocks; those who believe enlightenment will come easily through the pursuit of pseudo-spiritual states of ‘bliss out’. The remark never fails to make me smile and wince, because I am one of those humans. Sort of. Here’s the case for my thesis. You be the judge. My love affair with hot tubs started, appropriately, with sex. Not just any sex, but passionate, sensual, first-of-its-kind cosmic sex in a backyard Jacuzzi. You don’t have to be a brain scientist to imagine the neurological frenzy that ensued of mapping the erotic pleasuring of the body with heated water and air jets. Scientifically speaking, repetition of the experience created a finely tuned sequence of synaptic firings that ensured a conditioned response. In other words, just dipping my toe into hot water began to make me feel happy. And this was good. Then came the first visit to Esalen, where I went to look for myself during my early 30’s. I was transfixed by the nirvana of those mineral baths, perched above the cliffs, full of contentedly naked people. Being considerably “plus-size”, it took a lot of courage to bare all in order to join the Esalenites in their sacred spring. But this act of bravery proffered the most important gift of......

Process of Creating a Pot

...Process Of Creating A Pot A pot is a curved container, which has a smaller opening on top and has a bigger surface which holds it, when you’re cooking or can support it to hold water. Pots have been in use by most people in some parts of Africa and Asia, like in Morocco and India. In some, many parts of the world’s people still use them for different reasons, such as potting flowers, etc. My love for different cultures inspired me to think of something that could satisfy my passion and love for culture, so I settled on a project to make pots. The first step on this project was to indentify the materials I would need, so I outlined a collection of materials I could use. Clay was the main component, so I gathered a sufficient amount of clay and bought watercolors for painting. Of course, I had to get a paint brush for my art work and a needle. After ensuring all materials were ready, I prepared some water and mixed it with clay to give a fine dough. When the dough was ready, I started by making the first pot into a bigger, round shape curved at the base and smaller on the top. I successfully managed to make a pot that could be used for cooking. I used a needle to decorate it, as I applied the colors with the brush while it was still wet. After successfully making the pot, I heat it under the sun for three days, and it was ready to use. My first pot was used to keep water, and it could amazingly keep the water cold for long time, which was such an achievement! My first...

...You are an IT Network Specialist and are required to develop the design of the company’s telephone system for its new building which will begin construction in a few months. In order to get a background which will help when developing the new system, your supervisor asked you to research the current Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) currently used by the company. You must research the system components and report back to your supervisor, the Telecommunications Manager, within a week. 1. Describe a local land line phone system based on the following Landline Telephone Components: I would place a call using my phone which is connected to the jack by a fixed line, the data would be sent to my service providers Central office via Local Loop, once the data has reached the CO and depending where my call was going it would be transferred to the local exchange for local calls and long distance, and for long distance calls it would be transferred at the POP to the Long distance System. *NOTE* I was unsure about the question so I defined the components and described a local line phone system. a.) Local Loop: is a loop of copper wire that allows current to flow from the telephone to the central office and back. It is the dual-wire physical interface that connects a telephone to the CO (central office). b.) Central Office: also referred to as the local exchange, which provides services to a group of subscribers in a local area. c.) Local Exchanges: Local exchanges are local......

Hot Wire

...  Hot Rod Marketing Terry Walsh knew the time was right to move from being a small, “garage-based” company to a much larger enterprise. After spending years as a research chemist, Terry had launched out on his own. His goal was to develop a top-of-the-line fuel injector cleaner for both domestic and foreign automobiles. For 2 years, he worked with various formulas until the right one emerged. The product was named Hot Fire Fuel Injector Cleaner, and the company’s name was Hot Fire. Terry was positive Hot Fire would perform well against any competitive product.  The market for fuel-injector cleaners is diverse. Numerous backyard mechanics sell limited amounts of their concoctions to local merchants and over the internet. Several formulas are even available on eBay. There is no guarantee of quality for these products, some of which may actually harm engine performance. At the other extreme, major companies such as STP, Gumout, and Dupont offer various grades of cleaners, from low-end products selling for around $3 per unit up to high-end versions priced as high as $30. The primary price determinant is the degree to which the product reduces congestion in a fuel injector. The higher-priced entries are more powerful and remove more “gunk.” Terry’s Hot Fire Fuel Injector Cleaner was at the high end. The price would be $17 wholesale, per can. He hoped that dealers would charge no more than $25 as a retail price. Hot Fire sold in single containers as well as in multipacks of 6......

Melting Pot

...The melting pot is a mixture of people from different culture and ethnicity together by assimilation and acculturation to one culture which is the main one. According Israel Zangwill play to The melting pot started in the used around 1908 when the play opened in Washington, the United States absorbed the largest influx of immigrant in its story coming from Europe , such as : Irish , Germans followed by Italians and east Europeans . The United had 18 million immigrants between 1890 and 1920. The Immigrants of today are not coming from Europeans countries anymore, but from developing world countries like Asia and South America. The melting pot is due to the mixture of different race and ethnicity. The melting pot is normally caused by the desire of people of other ethnicity and race for a better life, most ethnicity and race in America want to leave the America dream. The first migration in the United was due to high unemployment, growing labor unrest, political corruption, religious persecution, and political turmoil. I really don’t think America is a melt pot society because , a lot of recent immigrants have come from different part of the world such as : south , Asia , Africa . All these people have a different culture , and most of them would not leave their culture to assimilate to the American culture , but they will assimilate to the law they will allow them to benefit from the opportunities that America is offering. Immigrant children most likely......
