Discipline is a very small part of classroom management. Procedures are not found in a discipline plan; nor should a procedure be a threat, a rule, or an order. A procedure is simply a method or process for getting things done in the classroom. Procedures and routines are different from a discipline plan. Do not confuse procedures with discipline. There are two major differences. DISCIPLINE concerns how students BEHAVE. PROCEDURES concern how things ARE DONE. DISCIPLINE HAS consequences and rewards. PROCEDURES HAVE NO consequences or rewards. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT deals with how things are done. DISCIPLINE deals with how people behave. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT has to do with procedures, routines, and structure. DISCIPLINE is about impulse management and self-control. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT is the teacher's responsibility. DISCIPLINE is the student's responsibility. The Role of Women in Shakespearean Plays

...The role of women in Shakespearean plays In order to proceed in exploring the women’s role in Shakespearean plays, one should consider first the social context to which they belong, i.e. the Elizabethan society, as well as the theme and the plot in which they appear. Despite the power of Elisabeth I, women during this time had very little authority, autonomy, or recognition. Women gained their status based on the position of either their father or their husband. Even more restricting than economic rights were the social and political rights of women. They were expected to be silent observers, submissive to their husbands. Women who attempted to assert their views were seen as a threat to social order. This is significant in that the maintenance of social order was an extremely important aspect of Elizabethan society. Shakespeare is highly sensitive to his target audience in every step of the writing process. He actively plays upon the beliefs and fears of the Elizabethans. With characters such as Goneril and Cleopatra, Shakespeare demonstrates the devastating effects of female rebellion against social order. Shakespeare invokes sympathy in the audience by creating characters of extreme feminine virtue such as Cordelia, Miranda. However, Shakespeare often creates ambiguous emotions in the audience by introducing an element of intelligence and boldness in the case of Isabella and Desdemona. Despite the relative insignificance of women in Elisabethan social order, Shakespeare...

Radio Plays a Central Role in the Discussions in This Chapter. How Does It Affect Each of the Three Styles Under Consideration? What Role Does Television Play?

...Radio plays a central role in the discussions in this chapter. How does it affect each of the three styles under consideration? What role does television play? Before there was television or radio, people around the country had to resort to listening to music by live performances. This was quite a damper in music’s influence in society at that time. In the 1950’s there were three common styles in music and they are mainstream popular music, rhythm and blues, and country and western. Radio played a major role in creating a global and nation wide audience from local and regional audiences. The most popular style of music featuring Bing Crosby, The Andrews Sisters and Frank Sinatra appeared regularly in radio programming. As a result, country and western as well as rhythm and blues were not often played in the radio and did not develop much amongst society. During the mid 1950’s the television were at its golden age. People were no longer listening to the radio and now tuned in more to the television. Low-income listener could now listen to country and western and rhythm and blues because they were played more often on the radio at hopes to attract low-income listeners or those who could not afford a television. Elvis appeared on the Ed Sullivan show on television and thus results in the rapid spread of the popular genre of rock and roll amidst a national audience. All in all , the appearance of radio and television played a critical role in spreading these musical genres......
