I can’t tell you how to get your ex completely erased out of your life but I do know of ways to keep him or her away from you living your life. Often, the hardest part about getting over a romantic partner is letting go of the person as an attachment figure which is a person who you rely on for support. Having others who we can trust to be there for us is one of our most basic needs as human beings. So a way you can detach from your partner is to train yourself not to rely on your ex by spending more time with other supportive people in your life instead. For example, research shows that parents, siblings, friends, and children can all make excellent attachment figures. So, visit your family. Have lunch with an old friend. Remind yourself that your ex is not the only person in your life who you can feel close to, and you’ll find yourself needing him or her less and less. It can also be helpful to get back into the dating world. This doesn’t necessarily mean jumping into a new relationship right away. It’s never good to rush love, and getting romantically......

How to Get Feedback

...knew and I was grateful for talking to him about this. My partner gave me really good feedback that I really took in and listened too. I realized how important listening was from the readings as it is the central skill in the establishment and maintenance of interpersonal relationships, which in turn establishes teamwork. But most of all, listening to him and the details he describe about how I could improve myself really promoted problem solving abilities just like the readings mentioned. For example, he mentioned that I needed to better understand the different work styles of my group mates so I can better delegate the work when I’m leading the group due to the fact that some people like to finish their work early and some like to procrastinate. Another feedback was that I needed to spend the same amount of time working on a project as my teammates even if I am already very knowledgeable in that particular subject and it doesn’t interest me. One thing that I did well was that I showed genuine interest, didn’t interrupt him during this feedback, and also asked questions to further clarify how I could improve. I showed genuine interest because I really wanted to learn and improve myself which is also why I didn't interrupt like I do sometimes because I knew what he had to say was important. I could have done a better job of listening for what was not said. Just like the readings mentioned, I was expecting to hear something and didn’t. I should have asked him why......

How to Get Fierd

...There are many different reasons why someone could get fired, but they all share a common process. Personally, I have never been fired, and I have no intention to do so in the near future. Through my experiences working, I have encountered several employees who were far from deserving of a job. The majority of these unworthy workers have had a common goal, which was to get fired. You too can get fired and keep the Welfare System working in your favor! These employees have taught me that there is a strategic process to getting fired, which can sometimes have very few steps. The first step in getting fired is to arrive to work late. There are to be no exceptions to this rule. You are expected to be late even on your orientation day. As a general rule, the later you are, the more pleased your employer will be with you, and the greater chance you have of having your employed status revoked. If possible, try to think of a witty excuse for your tardiness, such as “I was at my probation officer’s office,” or “You didn’t tell me I was supposed to come in today. Thankfully, I looked at the schedule. If I hadn’t, you just would have had to go on without me.” After arriving late to work, the second step is to stay off task as much as possible. Completely disregard any orders from your manager or supervisor. If there is a phone accessible, it is highly recommended that you use it for as many unnecessary, personal phone calls as possible. If a customer tries to divert your......

How to Get a Man's Attention

...thinking, how can a girl like me feel that? Its simple, I will give you the guideline on how to win your Prince, correct me if I am wrong gentlemen, so listen up Cinderella! Today I’ll be talking about the three factors that every woman should keep in mind when trying to win a guy, which is the external factor, the internal factor, and last but not least, her attitude. According to Crystal Mazzuca, its very easy to get any mans attention by the way you dress, especially since guys are visual. Therefore, dress to impress. Revealing clothes will get you attention, but will it get you the right kind of attention? A girl loves to feel that are all eyes are on her when she enters a room. That being said does not mean enter a room half naked. Stay composed. Be true to who you are. If you are uncomfortable showing all your skin that does not mean nobody will look at you. Flatter your body, subtly. Flaunt your features, just not all at once. There is no need to show every single shape on your body at the same time. Leave them wondering what else is behind that beautiful smile. If you are in a skintight dress showing every single inch of your body, what is left, your closed shoes? As if they are going to wonder, “Oh, I wonder what her toes look like.” Every morning as we get ready, we think of that someone we want to impress. Which leads me on to my next point. Stay delicate. A guy likes for a girl to be confident in her own skin. Show him you take pride in how you look,...

How Tp Get Motivated

...How to get motivated? Motivation is the reason behind a person’s actions or reactions. It is the driving force that makes people stroll along the path to success with ease, defying any obstacle that comes in their way. Simultaneously, it can also be the sole reason due to which a person develops an inability to succeed. More importantly, today we are going to identify why the latter occurs and how can it be rectified. Why does a person get stuck in a rut? Why does a person think that they can never achieve what they set out to do? Every now and then you, me and all of us set these goals of losing a couple of inches of fat, spending more time with our loved ones, getting the promotion that we’ve always been dreaming of. What is it that stops us from accomplishing these goals and how can we overcome this fortress of demotivation? Let’s have a look at some of the approaches that we’ve identified that could help: 1) ‘The Carrot and The Stick’ Approach: Usually, when people set out to strive for a goal they forget about the finer things in life and forget to relish what they have achieved already. On the other hand, when people become totally lethargic about having to do something and they simply can’t figure out a way to get themselves to start work then the best way to go about it is to follow ‘The Carrot and Stick’ approach to motivate themselves. In layman terms, the carrot is the reward and the stick is the punishment. This approach illustrates that a system......

...Martin flores English 1301 Jennifer Cedillos October 30, 2014 Abortion The word abortion by definition means the induced expulsion of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive. Abortion is an extremely controversial issue because while some people are against it, some believe it is a womans choice. Many people think that abortion an inhumane process, due to fact that it takes away the opportunity to live to a human being. Why is abortion bad, and why it shouldn’t be legalized? There are many arguments as to why it shouldn’t be legalized. Some are for and some are against abortion, which in many cases it makes us question the decision to be the correct one. To get a better idea on the topic, we need to pay more attention and look closely on all the point of views. Which are that abortion should be considered murder and with time a lot of women can use it as a form of birth control. Why should abortion be considered a crime? If abortion is legalized then murder should legal too. Abortion is immoral because it is intentional killing of a human being. It is a well known fact that life begins at the moment of conception. When an abortion is performed the life of an innocent child is taken. Abortion in many cases is used as a method to solve a problem. It is not correct because it is violating the rights of a human being who doesn’t have the option of choosing to live or not. Why deny the unborn child its right to live and experience the world.......

Short Essay How to Get an a

...Know your material. Skim the subject matter before the class goes over it, follow the teacher as he/she shows it to you (take notes to save yourself the trouble of rereading 1000 pages), and reference it when it is time to write. Be prepared. Have an outline already set out long before you have to start writing. Your teachers will most likely have a format for you to follow, but if not, follow this basic one: an introduction paragraph, 3 or more supporting body paragraphs, and 1 concluding paragraph. Write out your ideas. Get out a piece of paper and write down everything that you can think of that pertains to the subject. Don't worry about neatness yet; this is still the brainstorming stage. Choose a few good ideas. Make sure you can back them up. Even though you might have a brilliant idea, if you can't back it up, it's useless. Group your ideas into different categories. For a simple example: If your subject is "Names of Animals", and you write Cat, Lizard, Dog, Alligator, Raccoon, then you could group the mammals in one group and the reptiles in the other, or you could put domesticated animals in one group and wild ones in the other. These will be your paragraphs. Turn your ideas into a sentence. To do this, try to pick out a few major words or themes from your ideas and use them while drafting your paper. Let your essay sit for a while, then read it again. You will need to have fresh eyes when reviewing your essay. If you are short on time, have someone else read it.......

How Not to Get a Job in Public Relations

...who had graduated from a local university two months before with a degree in mass communications. As we were looking to fill a summer part-time internship, I invited her — let's call her "Jane" — to interview. She performed satisfactorily in the interview, demonstrating confidence in her abilities and familiarity with the agency. But she didn't really impress me, and while her resume had several internships and showed some relevant experience, I was not in a rush to hire her. So I thanked "Jane" for her time and asked whether she would agree to take our agency writing test. She said she would and I e-mailed it to her. As always, I did not give a firm deadline to return the test, believing how long it takes an applicant to return the test is a fair gauge of how much she wants the job. Our writing test has a part where the applicant is asked to write a one-page press release based on about 25 bullet points from which to select content, a PR savvy part where a problem is posed and the applicant proposes a solution, and an editing test where we assess the applicant's grasp of Associated Press style, basic grammar and spelling, and attention to detail. The interview was on a Wednesday and I received "Jane's" completed test the following Monday — five days later. I looked through it and found it to be a generally lackluster performance, with poor writing, poor organization, uninspired ideas and a profound inability to edit. I knew I was not going to hire this person...

...glish literature How to Write an A* GCSE English Literature Poetry Response Copyright © 2008 www.englishteaching.co.uk + www.english-teaching.co.uk How to Write an A* GCSE English Literature Poetry Response 2 The Poetry Component of the GCSE Literature Paper The poetry task is the second question on the GCSE English Literature exam paper. It is perhaps the more demanding of the tasks on the paper, because unlike the question on the prose, in this section you are being asked to compare four poems simultaneously throughout your answer. In the exam you should spend one hour on this section of the paper. Given the greater demand of the task, your response to the poetry is worth more marks than the response to the prose. In order to perform at the highest level on this paper, it is important that you develop a nuanced and sophisticated comparative written style. However, this is achievable if you adopt a systematic approach to ordering and writing your responses. It does, however, demand considerable practice prior to the final examination. What is the Examiner looking for in a response to the Poetry? The exam is designed to test your ability to do the following things:    Can you respond to the poems critically, in detail, and sensitively using textual evidence? Can Can you explore language, structure and form contribute to the meaning of texts? Can Can you compare the ways that ideas, themes and relationships are presented in the poems by...
