...Learning Team A Accounting Firm Memo To: Accountants From: Date: 1/28/2013 Re: New SAS 115 Rules New SAS 115 Rules The purpose of this memo is to inform you of the new auditing rules described by SAS 115. The Accounting Standards Board issued Statement on Accounting Standards (SAS) 115. This regulation is an amendment to and replaces SAS 112. The new regulation kept the same name as the previous regulation. The name of the regulation is Communicating Internal Control Related Matters Identified in an Audit. Per the American Institute of CPAs website, “SAS 115 requires the auditor to make communications, in writing, to management and those charged with governance regarding significant deficiencies and material weaknesses in internal controls that you note in your audits.” What changed? SAS 115 amends and replaces SAS 112. Noteworthy changes in SAS 115 include new definitions of material weaknesses and significant deficiency. The new definitions as described in SAS 115 are listed below. Material Weaknesses: “A deficiency, or combination of deficiencies, in internal control such that there is a reasonable possibility that a material misstatement of the entity’s financial statements will not be prevented, or detected and corrected on a timely basis.” In SAS No.112 material weakness’ definition stated “more than a remote likelihood” that a material misstatement of the entity’s financial statements will not be prevented, or detected and corrected on a timely......

...Week 3 Assignment 1.1 \\Eng 115 The author of the essay “Facing Poverty with a Rich Girl’s Habits” is Suki Kim. In the essay, Kim wants to explain her struggles. The essay discusses the struggles she had as a child being in the 7th grade and moving from South Korea to Queens, NY. She went from being rich to being poor basically overnight. Her world as she knew it was changed in an instant. Her father went from being a billionaire to having nothing. Her main purpose is to describe what she faced while trying to adapt to different beliefs and cultures. Kim talks about her life going to a new school where everyone spoke English. She noticed that even Korean American kids avoided her. She had not realized there was much diversity within an immigrant group. There was definitely a separation between the groups. Being a teenager, she was “already rooted in Korean ways and language”. Her soul was not quite American although on paper that is what she was considered. She would rather use her Hello Kitty backpack instead of one that had pictures of the Menudo boys who were popular in the 80’s. She was upset that her parents would not allow her to pierce her ears. Most girls her age had their pierced. It sounds like she struggled to fit in and still keep her Korean culture Her lifestyle changed tremendously. She went from having a chauffer to taking public transportation. She had to get used to being called an Asian when she had only heard that term in school in...

...Hyun Supplee BUSN 115 05/06/2014 Week One Homework I believe the command economy would be the best choice in dealing with a crisis. In a Command economy raw materials and goods are controlled by a central form of authority or a government body. The government body controls the raw materials dictating different prices they feel to be just. The thought in a command economy is that it is better to have the nation’s government control the market instead of the people who would be only interested in personnel gain. If a crisis were to occur the command economy would be the fastest to respond to the threat. Since the government has controlling power over the goods any resource needed to fix the problem could be easily moved. With other economies it might take a while to get the necessary resources from the many different people controlling them. In a command economy the government also has the added power of offering incentives to workers that help with relief. For example a worker in a command economy could be offered better housing or pay incentives to help others. In terms of handling a crisis I believe that a socialist system would be the best prepared to handle the situation. In a socialist system the community works together and creates products that everyone needs. Everyone working in the community is working to better benefit the health of the society and the people living there. The trash man and lawyer both get paid the same amount of money because the view is......
