I would recommend PC. It is because by outweighing the overall value received from PCs than Macs, It should be clear to any well-informed consumer that PC gives you a “better bang for your bucks”. Firstly when looking at hardware compatibility, PCs ultimately triumph against Macs. Microsoft gives its users a large variety of hardware choices to choose from i.e. processors, hard drives, Ram etc. On the other hand Mac only gives its customers a selective few. Even when looking at software compatibility, Macs runs on software that is specifically designed for its OS and since relative speaking it has only been in the market for a short time it lacks a wide variety of software than PCs and a lot of software developers are more skilled with using PCs because they are more familiar with the interface. This is a leading factor why software like “Microsoft Office” has more tools and functionality ingrained in the Windows version than in the Mac version. It should also be brought into attention that some software cost more in Macs than in PCs because programmers may have to develop new codes for the Mac version, which would consume more resources. When looking at all these petGro should go with PC because having computers that are compatible with majority of software out there, would make business to flow smoothly with less time and hassle spent in dealing with software incompatibility problems. By choosing PCs this problem would be eradicated. petgro would also not be bound by hardware capabilities, they could build supercomputers if they wish to support any complex ERM system, DMS system etc. They could also take advantage of being able customize computers with different hardware capabilities i.e processer speed, ROM size, RAM , to specifically tailor to each department needs. PC would be valuable because it creates a whole new host of possibilities in their…...

...Mac vs. PC The battle between the two powerhouses never seems to end. In the world of computers, the choice of systems can be a complicated one. There are two competitors out there: PCs and Macs. Everyone has their own opinion as to which is better, and there are many die-hard fans in each camp. The truth is, PCs are far more popular, and for good reasons. Yet the Mac system is actually the more durable and useful of the two. Many factors contribute to the consumer’s thought process before purchasing a computer. Things like cost, usability, software availability, and endless others add to the conflict of which is better. First, we can consider the amount of software applications available for use on both systems. The majority of computer users own PCs, regardless of what their reason may be. Therefore, software companies find that it is far more profitable to develop software that is for use on a PC instead of a Mac. There is such a variety of software written for PCs that is unavailable for Macs that it could be a paper within itself. However, Macintosh beats Windows in one area. Apple preloads every computer with advanced media production programs. The cost of similar programs for the PC would amount to at least $1000. Windows has gained a little ground in the past years by including Movie Maker as a basic application. This still doesn’t match up with the Mac’s iLife, iPhoto, iMovie, Garage Band and other handy programs. The Mac, without much debate...

...Mac 0S vs. Windows A Macintosh is popular model of computer made by Apple Computer. Introduced in 1984, the Macintosh features a graphical user interface (GUI) that utilizes windows, icons, and a mouse to make it relatively easy for novices to use the computer productively. Rather than learning a complex set of commands, you need only point to a selection on a menu and click a mouse button. The differences between Mac and Windows determine how you use your computer. Mac OS and Windows are both well-known operating systems, but are very different in the way they look and the way they operate. Windows computers are preferred by many because of how easy they can be to customize. Because of the way their hardware is designed, users can replace graphics cards, RAM chips, CD drives, motherboards and other internal hardware at their discretion. Most Mac models, on the other hand, are difficult to upgrade apart from RAM and a few other basic components. Most changes require a visit to an Apple store. The Windows system is designed with its main-menu "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen, though this can be altered by users. This is from where the programs list and many folders and settings can be accessed, which makes use of Windows Explorer, its file browsing system. Macs utilize the Finder, which is much like Windows Explorer, except that this is the basis for almost all the files on its system. Instead of an "All Programs" list or "My Documents" folder,......

...PC VS. MAC In the world of computers, choosing a system can be somewhat complicated. There are two competitors on the market, Personal Computers (PC) and Mac Computers. Consumers have their own opinion on which is better; many die-hard fans in each camp. Before purchasing one of these systems, there are several options to consider and research to be done. In doing this, you will be able to come to the conclusion that PC’s are far more popular than Mac, yet the Mac system is actually more durable and useful. The majority of computer users own PC's, both for work and recreational use. Since PC’s are used more frequently, software companies find that it is far more profitable to develop software that is for use on a PC instead of a Mac. Computer technology changes so rapidly, forcing computer users to either purchase a new computer to stay up to date, or to upgrade to better software and hardware. There is such a variety of software written for PC's that is unavailable for Macs. A Mac however, has an advantage in one area. Mac computers have some highly specialized software for media production and have been ahead of PC's for quite some time. It is said that Macintoshes are more expensive than PC’s but this is not necessarily true. It is more suitable to say that Macs are more competitive in some price range configurations than in others. At the low end, the PC is less expensive than the Mac if you can do without Macs multimedia and connectivity capabilities, but......

...Mac vs. PC Bill Gates: “There may be a few….similarities.” Steve Jobs: “Similarities? Similarities? Try theft.” (from “Pirates of Silicon Valley”) Everyone knows of the popular household names Apple and Microsoft. Apple was started by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. They created the first Apple computer in Jobs’ parents garage in the 1970’s. They knew that they had created something great so they called their company Apple. Bill Gates on the other hand created Microsoft. He never made a computer; what he did was create software and put it on other computers. Allegedly, Bill Gates stole Apple’s Macintosh prototype software from Steve Jobs. Gates only received the prototypes because Jobs thought he could trust Gates, but he was sorely mistaken. These two popular household names are similar, but they have differences such as ability to customize, operating system, price, and virus protection. Apple and Microsoft are alike in they were created at the same time and both had great ideas. Some similarities they share are products such as portable media players and smart phones, tablet devices, and retail stores. They both have portable media players. Apple has the iPod and Microsoft has the Zune. They both do the same thing, but have completely different functions within the device. Zune is all tiled and more cut and dry verses the iPod ,which is sleek, creative, and allows more wiggle room than the Zune. Apple wins over people with the iPhone; it functions just like their......

...Running head: UNIX vs. MS vs. MAC 1 CIS-155 Final - UNIX vs. MS vs. MAC UNIX vs. MS vs. MAC 2 Abstract This paper will explore the history of UNIX, Microsoft (MS), and Macintosh (MAC) operating systems. Not only will I discuss the history of these systems, but I will also dive into the pros and cons of each. The benefits of each over its rivals will also be discussed. Keywords: open source, UNIX, Windows, UNIX vs. MS vs. MAC 3 The topic of what operating system is best has been a long and heated one. But, in the long run, UNIX will beat its rivals in most categories hands down. As the reader will see throughout this paper, undisputed evidence will be presented that will detail exactly how UNIX based operating systems are superior. Operating systems (OS‘s) are a means for users to communicate with the computer. Each OS provides a set of commands for directing the operation of the computer. Without these operating systems to help as interfaces, each user would have to learn the command syntax, which can be very difficult. These operating systems can be menu-driven, which provides a set of menus and lets users choose desired functions from then, or they can be icon-driven, known as a graphical user interface (GUI). GUIs are very common these days and with them, users can choose an icon, usually with a mouse, to......

...P.C vs. MAC With such a lot of desktop machines inside the business nowadays, making an approach what to shop for looks to be harder and harder. However the actuality that the Macintosh is that the best over its rivalry the workstation is unmistakably exemplified in a few routes at interims the pc planet. After you separate it, 2 significant creators fill in a classification of their own: Microsoft's Windows with Pc's and Apple with their Mac's. Each singular could have a dissimilar view on why one should own a Macintosh over a workstation which point of view changes. Perspective varies when looking at it as a personal interest. The world’s two main competitors in the computer market, the Microsoft P.C. and the Macintosh (Mac), both bear indisputable kindred attributes as well as striking differences. As a first, both utilize the rudimental substrata of the computer, including the skeletons of the keyboard, the outline of the mouse, and the design of the screen/monitor. However, these two competitors are of different leagues. It is vital for a buyer to take into consideration that a Microsoft P.C. is designed for affordability, efficiency, and compatibility. Macs, on the other hand, are designed for the technological doters, kenned by terms such as “geeks”. Quite the consummate antithesis of P.Cs, it is no wonder that Apple Mac engenderment’s are far below that of the Microsoft P.C. Numerous traits make both the P.C. and the Mac, leading computer companies in the world. ...

...Mac vs. PC When we are discussing the difference between a Mac and a PC it is important to understand exactly what we are comparing. Mac is short for “Macintosh” is only designed, developed and, marketed by Apple, Inc. PC which stands for “Personal Computer” these will be any IBM-Based running computer. That brings us to our first major difference where Mac can only be sold by Apple, PC can be sold anywhere, because of this PC usually are much cheaper then Mac’s. Another big difference would be the applications available on each system. PC would have your common MS Office, Internet Explorer, Media Player, Media Center, Windows Defender, SkyDrive, VLC media player, Chrome browser. Mac on the other hand has a complete different set of popular apps such as iLife, iWork, Xcode, iTunes, Time Machine, Safari, Mac App Store, FaceTime, Game Center, Photo Booth, Chrome browser, Quick Time. Where Mac can open almost all PC files and can coexist on local networks with PCs Such as doc, .exe, .xls, and others. Software exists for other file types. Mac can also run Windows for 100% compatibility. PC cannot open Mac-based files but if proper software is downloaded there is a possibility you can read or even write Mac-based files. If you are looking more for a gaming system a PC would be the better. The library of games available for the PC is exhaustive, and hardware specifically tweaked for gaming performance is much more readily available for Windows. The array of graphics cards and...

...Mac vs. PC/windows The technology market has severely impacted the world in the last decade. Apple and Microsoft are two companies whose competition to dominate sales has been mostly developed with computer sales. Apple’s computer is named “Mac” and Microsoft’s product can be recognized as windows PC. Microsoft has millions of customers because of the amazing job that the company has developed on marketing. However, Apple’s computer is undoubtedly better in three aspects: Productivity, security and design. The lighter you are, the faster you can run. This is an advise usually used for athletes, but can be applied for computers too. Mac has an immediate processing, because it does not have useless applications by default, and so, the software works faster. Furthermore, the apple keyboard facilities, as the multi-touch, give to the user a higher list of options to control the computer. On the other hand, windows PC wants to provide a big amount of options to the customer, for instance, more than 40 game by default. The computer usually gets slower for having apps that never are used by customers. However, the processing speed of computers can be affected for other reasons; malwares are one of these. A malware is malicious software used to corrupt computers. Apple has many restrictions for computer developers and its programing language is much more exclusive, because the software and hardware are both created by the same company. This strategy lets Apple to be much more......

Windows vs Mac Os

...You can either use Mac OS on a Macintosh, or you can also install Windows OS on it. Mac OS and Windows are the two most popular operating systems for computers known to beings. The rivalry among the two is much older than you can imagine. It all began when Apple released Macintosh in 1984, and Bill Gates released Windows in the following year. This is when the computer generation was born and door to technology opened. Since then, we are bombarded with information comparing one operating system to another. Frankly, these two operating systems have much more in common than they do in difference. Each has its own set of pros and cons, but they share many of the core features that define a computer operating system in a modern era. If I were to pick one operating system between the two, I would be better served out by having the similarities pointed out first rather than the differences. Let’s take a moment to move past this vs. that way of thinking and look into what is similar between the two operating systems. Like, both operating systems have a robust set of integrated drivers that enable a wide range of external accessories to work flawlessly out of the box. Installing software or applications on any of them isn’t a problem now, because now usually they are made for both operating systems. The elements of the user interface are mostly common too, only the placement of them differs. E.g. the title bar buttons are on the left in a Mac, while they are on the......

...other operating systems. Linux uses a tree like structure for memory management, and also using a numeric algorithm to make the best use of its valuable memory. The memory it manages is maintained in structures which enable protection of them by converting the list into the tree like structure. The tree is also balanced and not too much in depth. This helps for the information to be reached much more easily because it is closer for the processor to grab and use. It also cuts the time it takes for the processor to reach the data that would otherwise take longer to reach. The Virtual Address Descriptors marks the nodes within the tree as reserved, committed, or free. MAX OS works in a similar fashion to UNIX. Each task created within the MAC operating system has its own memory map. Within the operating system, the memory map mentioned before takes a form in to what it looks like an ordered doubly linked list. The objects within the linked list contain lists of pages as well as references to other objects. There really is not a need to be able to ever access the memory map directly unless you are skilled and absolutely need to modify something within the system. The mapping can be referenced to a specific object. To put this into perspective, the object has its specific place within the map. (Apple 2014) As we move on to Windows, let’s begin that by far it is considered by many to be one of the easiest operating system for any person trying to learn the basics of any......

...be upgraded just as well as a Windows PC, there are just limits to how far you can upgrade unless a couple thousand dollars is spent on a system such as the Mac Pro (Dachis, 2013). The Windows side of the hardware area is just a little friendlier and variable, much simpler to get around with. The Mac computers are simple as well, yet a bit picky when it comes to standard features and the use of hardware specifically available only from Apple. Looking at all these features and hardware is definitely part of the process when choosing between the two, but what about the cost? Everyone wants to get the best deal or more bang for their buck, and they also don’t want to waste money where they shouldn’t. But what depicts the price between the two? Mac computers made by Apple may appear much more expensive when comparing them to the endless amounts of different Windows systems that are out there. Generally speaking, Apple computers are more expensive than some Windows because of the mere fact that the hardware is higher-end and that they don’t produce lesser quality computers. Windows has cheaper parts in some of their systems so that they can lower the price, suiting the needs of the customers who may be on a budget. Although these two are hardly comparable (Pumphrey, 2011) when you’re discussing the price of each. Windows and Macs are shipped with their own specific programs and software unique to each other so that it comes down to the buyer’s choice. Either way, the markets for......

...18 October 2011 PC vs. Mac: The Real Truth As computers have developed through the last few decades there has been a war between the companies arguing whose computer is best. As more companies developed the birth of Macintosh arose. What made the difference was the makeup of their operating systems at the time. As time went by the difference became more descriptive and detailed. Today the fighting between computer companies never ends, but I am here to prove once and for all that the specifications, availability, and the price variation make PC superior to Mac. One important aspect that makes PC more sophisticated than Mac is the specifications. The fastest desktop PC has a six core processor running at 3.46 GHz without overclocking. Also with their new turbo boost mode that was recently developed it tops out at 3.73 GHz. Mac’s on the other hand have to use two six core processors running at 2.93 Ghz to try and keep up with speeds of desktop PC’s. Pc’s are faster at desktop but also laptop as well. The speed of PC was just proved greater than it opponent Mac which makes PC a greater choice. The availability of a computer is also important when fighting Mac. Another key component when arguing about PC verse Mac is the availability of the product. Today most people will build their own Desktop PC and sometime even laptops. People do this because of the available customization they can achieve and, also it is cheaper this way. They can customize their PC with lights,......

...Mac vs PC “A Mac is as good as it looks,” and “More fun. Less Baggage.” Are two very simply put sentences but also say volumes about the products they represent at the same time. These days advertisements are quick and to the point to keep up with our fast moving and low attention-spanned society. In usually around ten to thirty words an advertiser will try to catch it’s readers attention and get their point across while at the same time reaching the intended demographic their product is intended for. These two products, and MacBook and a Dell Inspiron Mini 9, are similar in that they are both laptops, but vastly different in the way they are portrayed. The purpose of both these ads are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Mac has a reputation for making the best computers around. Many people know that Macs are significantly more pricy then their Dell counterpoints, therefor they don’t list the price of the product. They just tell you why it’s better computer. “Strong, beautiful materials, comes with the latest technology, powerful processors, advanced graphics, fast memory,” and so on. On the other hand, the purpose of the Dell ad is to show customers that their computers are greatly cheaper, but they are still fast, work well, and have comparable components. The purpose of their ad is to show you the outstandingly low price and a list of the specifications to let you know even though it’s cheap, it’s still good. Flowers 2 Audience and demographics are huge parts of......
