Identify the factors given in the article and determine under which management skills they fall.

There are three basic skills in which all the management skills are categorized. The three are namely; Conceptual skills, Human skills and Technical skills.
All the other skills mentioned fall within these three categories of skills. The skills described in the article will be respectively described below.
1. Communication
Communication falls under the category of Human skills. And it’s a very basic and important sub-category and also a strong pillar in the realm of managers.

2. Listening skills
Listening skills also falls under the sub-category of Communication.

3. A commitment to the truth
Asking questions and clarifying for the truth and showing immense interest in hearing the reality of the news that you get to listen to, from outside sources as well as from those working under your management, sound Interpersonal skills are required. (This also falls under the main category of Human Skills)

4. Empathy
Empathizing here means to understand that other people may have different points of view. So, Empathy requires excellent listening skills and falls in the sub-category of Interpersonal Skills.

5. Persuasion
Persuasion involves negotiating and most probably partnering with people for achieving mutual goals and benefits. Persuasion falls somewhere between having excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.

6. Leadership
Leadership, a critical management skill, is the ability to motivate a group of people towards a common goal. It revolves around influencing the employees working for you and building relationships based on trust and respect. Good Interpersonal communication and Effectiveness skills are the base of a good leader.

...because I was not experienced in doing so. Honestly I was scared of having to take Communications. Now I am starting to enjoy writing still not the best at it, but I am getting a lot better compared to what I was. The essay This I Believe I really enjoyed it was my favorite one. Overall I have made a major improvement in my writing capabilities. I have tried the different techniques of brainstorming. I have tried free writing and I didn’t like this technique, because it had no order to it. I like thing having an order. Then I tried the web, I only used it once but I did not care for it much either. But the one that seemed to work the best for me was listing. I liked it because you could list them and group your ideas. Then when I started on my essay things go a lot smoother. One of the most helpful things my Instructor told me was that my biggest challenge as a writer is to keep the errors under control. Then she told me I will get better with practice. My instructor was always good and clear about what I need to do. In each draft my essay got better not as many run together sentences. I have good format for my essays, but I need to pay more attention to my final thoughts when I am done. I also need to proof read before I send them. Life is full of ups and downs and everything is easier if one keeps a sense of humor, or at least surrounds oneself with those who have one. Intelligence, education, and common sense are important builders of character. I have met plenty of people with high IQ’s and no common sense. My personal belief is that common sense, social intelligence, and “street smarts” are pretty much all in the same. Being able to solve the most difficult math problem won’t make you a good partner or friend, if they cannot hold a conversation, relate to others, and have zero social skills. Relating to others is an ability that requires the use of common sense, which dictates what to do or not to do in everyday situations. Kindness is another character trait, like integrity, that a good person should have. A person who possesses kindness will usually keep your heart safe and your best interests in mind. Their willingness to help others also translates into someone who knows how to put another’s needs ahead of their own.
