The Most Important Paper There is one thing that all people have in common: the need to empty their bowels. This process is a very personal matter for many people; most prefer to use the lavatory in the comfort of their own homes, but this is not always possible. People expect a sanitary, comfortable environment in which to use the restroom. They want to have interesting magazines at their disposal, a plunger nearby, anti-bacterial soap, and a fragrant aerosol spray. People could survive without these things; however, what they cannot live without is toilet paper. When latrine users walk into a restroom, sit on the loo, do their business, and realize there is no toilet paper, panic begins. Their worst nightmare has just become a reality. If they are lucky, someone will be in the next stall and lend them some toilet paper. If no one is around, they will have to compensate by using Kleenex or a paper towel, if it can be located. If none of these can be found, they will just have to drip dry or zip up their pants and find the nearest bathroom where they can finish the job. This is an outrage! This problem occurs everywhere across the globe, and it needs to be eliminated. Lack of toilet paper should be considered a criminal offense as it can cause infection and disease. In addition, it can affect a person’s social life because the smell is unbearable and no one will want to be around them. Furthermore, it may lead to severe anger problems when people take out their ‘lack of toilet paper’ frustrations on other people or themselves. The absence of toilet paper is a health hazard and is dangerous to the world’s population. The most important reason why this horrendous crime must be put to an end is that it causes disease and infection. This is especially pertinent to defecators. If they do not wipe their rectums after expelling feces, it will lead to a…...

The Most Important Person in My Life

...ENG101/29 Professor R Gaines ENG101/29 March 10,2013 The most important person in my life. . From the time we are born we are being influenced by those around us, be it a relative, friend, or teacher. We are influenced by their character, traits and form opinions that will last a lifetime. Although influential people have come and gone in my life, my boyfriend, Daniel, has remained the most important and influential person for the past fifteen years. It was in November 2000 when I first met Daniel at the “Stratford Athletic Club.” I attended the club almost every day. One evening a tall gentleman with an athletic body approached me and with a soft-spoken voice proceeded to ask,” How is your workout going?” I turned towards him, looked at his amicable face, and with a barely detectable smile said, “Fine, thank you.” This was the beginning of a most satisfying, educational and enduring relationship. Right after I met him I noticed his amazing organization skills. He is able to stay focused no matter how distracting the situation might be. He simply minimizes the distraction. For example, if he is focusing his attention on writing an important paper, he will ignore the phone when it’s ringing, and will not answer the doorbell. I always had a problem with focusing. Since I started to spend time with Daniel I learn to remained focused on my goals and not to be affected by any adverse elements. Years ago while driving in the center lane...

The Most Important Person to Me

...The most important person to me I would like to write about my precious mother, Nawal. There are thousands of ways to define the word "mother". Some people would describe a mother as the one that takes care of the home. Others may complain that their mother is the one that is constantly nagging. Nevertheless, my view on a mother is above and beyond the typical description. My mother has pure white skin that match her pure personality. She is short and has a small nose and brown hair like honey, alongside with her soft light brown eyes. I love the way she choose which clothes to wear every morning for work while feeding my younger brother. Her style is classy and she prefers using black and white. I remember always wanting to look like mommy and walking around in her high heels. To this day, I still love using her things. Her smile and laughter are the most beautiful things in her. People always told her she has a baby face. When I think of my mother, the first thing that comes to mind is her striking appearance. She always take care of my younger sister and two brothers. Even if she is busy with her own life, she will still be eager to hear me squeal over my drama-filled teenage gossip. And whenever something becomes too much for me, she is there calming me down with just a simple sentence. Even if I refused her request or if we got in a fight, she still manages to run a household beautifully. She is the kindest person I have ever met; she has a heart of a......

My Most Important Day

...My Most Important Day I had always been curious about all the things in the world. In fact, my parents used to always mention how inquisitive I was. My world got difficult when I turned five. My parents thought it would be a good idea to hire an intense tutor to prepare me for school. At first, I liked my tutor, things were going well, but soon I became so overwhelmed by the pressure of studying that I began to rebel. As it turned out, all that preparation was a big waste of time. When trying to enroll several months later, new enrollment rules further inhibited me because I was too young. The school would not accept me until age seven and as a result I spent one more year with my tutor preparing for school. When I finally entered school, I was so bored because I already knew most of the material. As the years passed, my dislike for school slowly dwindled. I always wondered why we study all that stuff in school. I knew that if I could understand the purpose, I would be more motivated to study, which finally happened one day. It was a sunny Sunday; my father had a plan to remodel his garage into a workshop. At that time, I was fourteen years old and in the seventh grade, and of course I was eager to help him. The day before, we had cleaned his jungle-like garage. We were going to start to equip the garage with table saw, jig saw, drill, and other machines, but we had a problem. There was no electricity for the light or to run all the machines which we wanted to install.......

The Three Most Important Virtues

...The Three Most Important Virtues The most important virtues might be different from people to people because we are raised in different culture and family and are influenced a lot from the whole society. Some people might think show mercy is a good virtue, while some peope might feel that it’s ordinary and it cannot be called a “virtue”. The three most important virtues that I appreciate are honest, empathy and thinking in other people’s view. This article might only reflect my plain point of view, which is influenced mostly by Chinese culture. Honest, might be everyone’s number one valued virtue, is the hardest virtue that people can actually obey or accept it sometimes. There is an old saying goes in China, “Good advice is harsh to the ear”. This saying tell us that in ancient China, the king loves to hear good news, which is reflecting his good administration, and feels angry and ashamed when he hear brave officers report bad new or provide useful advice. This story is just like the Chinese version ofThe Emperor's New Clothes. Not everyone is brave enough to speak the truth. People choose to say the sweet words that makes other people glad, or at lease not angry. Mostly people prefer other people to speak frankly and sincerely. Take one thing happened when I was an undergraduate student for example. One of my roommate owed the other roommate few money, not a big amount of one, but she forgot to pay back. In the next period of time, there was a weird tension between...

Winning Is Not the Most Important Thing in Life

...“Winning is not the most important thing in life – it’s everything.” Do you agree? LOA: Winning should merely remain a constantly-refined target that keeps changing after being achieved, not to be overly obsessed over at the expense of forgoing other important aspects, such as morals. Topic sentence 1: Indeed, winning seems to be the equation to maximizing satisfaction in life because of its merits. Pt 1: Only winners are remembered, not losers. E.g: Most people only remember victorious sportsmen and teams. People only remember Usain Bolt for winning his Olympic Gold Medal the 2012 Summer Olympics, but not many can recall that Yohan Blake, a fellow Jamaican, won the silver medal. Pt 2: The accolades and prizes won give people instant gratification and more importantly, recognition for their hardwork. E.g: Cristiano Ronaldo finally won his first Ballon d’Or after years of effort in 2013 and he was seen in tears while clutching on to his prize – a testament to how gratifying he felt for receiving it. Topic sentence 2: Winning is Hobson’s Choice when high stakes are involved. e.g: Singapore and other nations which lack in natural resources have to compete on the global scale via innovation and efficiency to sustain their countries’ progress. Any platform lost might be detrimental to the development of the country, in terms of financial costs and reputation tarnished. E.g On a micro level, students and companies fight over tooth and nail to achieve their desired......

The Five Most Important Indicators of Deception

...From: Jingjing He To: Dr. Mark Linville Date:9/March/2015 Subject: The five most important indicators of deception Recently, our professor taught us that how to know who is lying, who committed crime. I want to determine the five most important indicators of deception. The first one is verb tense. If you commits crime, you may know this thing is already occurred. For example, if you already killed someone, you may know the person is already died. you may use past tense to describe this person when talking with others. However, if you are not murder, you may think he is still alive, you will use present tense to describe that person. The second one is The Pronoun "I". Usually, we all are comfortable to use "I" to tell a truth, if the interviewee talk another thing using pronoun "I", but the pronoun "I" missing from another sentences, the interviewee may lying. The third one is Possessive Pronouns. A suspect will change the pronoun, or drop the pronoun completely, when opting not to show possession or admit association with a particular object or person The fourth one is Nouns. If the interviewee use different word after using one word consistently, the interviewee may recall that some big things may occurred, their life has been changed, so they change to different word. The Fifth one is missing statements. When you suspect documents, if you find some documents are missing, the interviewee may want to hide documents to indicate they are lying or did crime......

Most Important Day

...Rebecca Martin English 8:15 12/5/14 Getting It Together The most important day in my life so far would have to be my high school graduation. I was always fairly decent in school, hardly ever missing a day unless I came down with something contagious. However, my high school years looked like they would be the opposite. I started feeling really sluggish, and got terrible headaches all the time. After numerous tests and doctor visits, I found out I had a disease that made my body flush out all of the vitamins that I needed to be healthy, along with other issues. Struggling to wake up and get out of bed every day for school was just too difficult some days, so instead of going to school, I would stay home. My grades started slipping. Truancy letters were being sent to my house, warning me that my parents could be fined because I was not attending school regularly, which is common for schools to do now for truant students. One of the counselors at my school called me in one afternoon and told me that because my grades were dropping, I would not be able to attend my senior dances or compete on my color guard team anymore unless I made up some work and school time that I had missed in detention. Whether I wanted to or not, I had to start dragging myself to school and detention right after, which felt like torture. About two weeks into going back, I got called back into the counselor’s office, and it was even worse news for me. She closed the door, sat down. She looked like...

At an early age he had achieved fame as the greatest wrestler in all the land. That was not luck. At the most one could say that his chi or personal god was good. But the Ibo people have a proverb that when a man say yes his chi says yes also. Okonkwo said yes very strongly; so his chi agreed. And not only his chi but his clan too, because it judged a man by the work of his hands.” Overview of missionaries entering Thesis statement describing the elements of each culture, their clash, and how the English destroyed the spirit of an entire culture by imposing theirs. This collapsing culture and broken spirit of the clans led to the suicide of Okondwo. Body Paragraph 1 – Okondwo’s Culture Perception of Masculinity (Gender Roles) “Perhaps down in his heart Okonkwo was not a cruel man. But his whole life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and of weakness.” “To show affection was a sign of weakness; the only thing worth demonstrating was strength.” “No matter how prosperous a man was, if he was unable to rule his women and his children (and especially his women) he was not really a man.” Traditions & Societal Status Taking titles and marrying multiple wives is the ultimate goal. “Having spoken......

Most Important Competencies for Future Managers

...Most important competencies for future managers (2020-2023) - Business School Netherlands Written by Business School Nederland Thursday, 16 January 2014 14:38 Business School Netherlands’ (BSN) Advisory Board MBA is an operational committee advising BSN on the current and future role of managers, its function being to maintain an up-to- date connection between the MBA programmes offered by BSN, and worldwide developments, particularly within organisations and non-profit organisations. Changing its approach of the previous years, the Advisory Board has adopted a significantly longer term focus, based on questions like What changes can we expect in the coming 7 – 10 years?, Which managerial competenties will become increasingly important? The reason behind this broader outlook is the large number of sources indicating that managers and organisations will face radical changes over the next decade.  The report ‘Agent of change, the future of technology disruption in business’ counts as one of these influential sources; an investigation led by the Economist Intelligence Unit (2012). Based on interviews with nearly 600 international executives (profit and non-profit) the report portrays the following outlook for the future: - By 2020 corporate industries will look drastically different. It is expected that many industries and companies will merge; in particular media, entertainment, financial services and telecommunications; - Information and ‘big data’......

Most Important Qualities of Character

...The six pillars of character are important traits which everyone should exhibit. For this week’s assignment I have chosen the most important pillars which would be a necessity for any member of the ABC Department of governmental services. As a federal watch dog agency the department is tasked and responsible for ensuring the highest efficiency within other governmental agencies. In addition the department serves as a liaison between citizens and complaints against governmental agencies. The responsibilities entailed in a job of this nature are endless; as are the risks of compromise of professional conduct. This is due to the magnitude of various agency projects under scrutiny. I strongly believe all six pillars of character play an important role in both the application and hiring process of all potential recruits. Once hired and under department training the three most important qualities are Trustworthiness, Responsibility and Respect. It is important to place the most emphasis on these three pillars because if an error occurs on the job under any of these three pillars the effect it could have on the agency could be detrimental. The social contract theory implies laws for the common good which one must obey whether one wants to or not (Brown 1996). In browns work and interpretations of Hume under social contract; it becomes clear that despite what one feels in the natural choice there are times when people must abide by the moral expectation of society. For the ABC......
