Nonemployment Conflict Management Policy decisions whether made in public or private setting require a careful analysis of including the possible outcome from implementation to stakeholders. No better example to the impact of policy decisions and the stakes it holds that in the United States political forum. Legislative decisions that impact the public are known to split the two aisles of the political spectrum; democrats and republicans. It has been argued that although the public may appear to be the major stakeholder behind the scenes the actual stakeholders are the big corporations. These corporations are known to lobby through vigorous negotiations on major policies by using their relationships, experiences and valuable insights of how “things” work in Washington. In the case of the Wamayo River Basin, the decision to preserve the salmon population conflicts with the economic development interests for hydropower, timber industry and agricultural development proponents. Indeed, the decision formulated is like walking a tight rope as it will create conflict given its impact on multiple stakeholders. Wamayo Dam, the company contracted to build additional dams along the basin has to identify the non-organizational conflicts that may exist given the multitude of stakeholders. For Wamayo, developing an astute conflict management will ensure that any decisions or actions by the company are mutually acceptable and satisfactory to all parties involved.

...A positive conflict style take you to your goal People involved in conflict often fall prey to biases that grossly distort what both parties are saying and meaning to say. Most of the time these conflicts turn into negative outcomes like physical abuse or really bad insults. Conflict according to Wilmot and Hocker defined it as an expressed struggle between at least two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from others in achieving their goals. There are four strategies that emerge from confront or avoid and cooperate or compete decisions. These strategies are: negotiation, non-confrontation, direct fighting, and indirect fighting. Negotiation is when you want to manage the conflict in a considerate manner. You care about the other person’s wants and needs. This behavior is direct and cooperative. Negotiate is when one of the two persons accepts responsibility of his/her actions, discuss every pros and cons, ask for an apology when needed, and wants terminate the conflict and be OK with the other person. The other person agrees to work on the disagreement, excuses the other person, paraphrase whatever the other person said, and has a positive mind reading, then when everything is resolved positive physical interactions and positive remarks are necessary. The linguistic situation of Sierra Leone poses an interesting challenge to a hybrid tribunal such as the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL). Sierra Leone is one of the smaller countries in West Africa; its population is now estimated to be around 6 million. Over 20 languages are in use of which Mende, Themne, Limba, and Kono are the most important indigenous ones, but they exist besides the official ex-colonial language English and its Creole descendant, called Krio. Krio is used as a native language with ethnic reference mainly in the capital Freetown and in the Western Area. It is also used as a lingua franca throughout the country where Mende and Themne also serve as linguae francae, but these are mainly concentrated in the south and in the north respectively.
