Organizational ethics can be defined as codes of principles and values that govern decisions and actions within a company. Organization’s culture sets standards for determining the difference between good and bad decision making and behavior. The most basic term in organizational ethics comes down to knowing the difference between right and wrong and choosing to do what is right.
Often having a personal preference in choice is not always the right choice and not an easy choice to make when it comes to organizational ethics. Ethical obligation discusses how difficult it can be at times to practice personal ethics Working for a company at times can be quite difficult but it also offers many intrinsic rewards. At working environment everyone should be treated respectfully of human dignity and treated with respect even when problems occur.
Organizational ethics is the behavior that a business adheres to in its daily dealings with the world. The ethics of a particular business can be diverse. They apply not only to how the business interacts with the world at large, but also to their one-on-one dealings with a single customer. To some people, businesses are interested in making money. Making money is not wrong in itself. It is the manner in which some businesses conduct themselves that brings up the question of ethical behavior.
Good organizational ethics should be a part of every organization. A company could generate multi-millions in sales, but this does not make the company an ethical company. A good company should eliminate exploitation, from the sweat shop children who are making sneakers to the coffee serving staff that is being ripped off in wages. Business ethics can be applied to everything from the trees cut down to make the paper that a business sells to the ramifications of importing coffee from certain countries.

If a working environment is not motivating for a person, he would have no issues with calling in sick or being absent. The word ‘Ethics’ comes from the greek word ‘ethikos’ which relates to the customary way to behave in society. Ethics is a branch of philosophy dates back to before 367 b.c. Famously in the history of ethics and philosophy were ‘’The Three Wise Greek Men’’ Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Socrates was a teacher of philosophy and Plato was Socrates student for approximately ten years, and when Socrates died, Aristophanes became Plato's student. There is a plethora of diverse backgrounds that make up a melting pot of talent. There are people within the company that come from the far stretches of the planet representing many different educational backgrounds, as well as ethnicities. The communication in my organization is very open and employees are shown how truly valued their insight and opinions are. When issues do arise there is a clear open door policy that makes all employees feel comfortable that their words and feelings are important and will be valued. We have a solid foundation of ethics that center on respect, loyalty and trust. There is an attitude that trickles down from management to employees that shows everyone is valued no matter what role they play and that all will be treated equally.
