Processing the Process Essay
Here is some detailed information about writing your process (“How to”) essay. 1. The “big idea” behind the paper: Practically everyone knows how to do something very well. In fact, many people know how to do something so well that they could actually teach someone else to do it. That is the main purpose behind the process essay. You are to select something (a process) that you know how to do very well and then write a regular essay which “teaches” the reader how to do that same thing. 2. Here are some important specifics and details. Follow all of them very closely. The formal name of the mode is process analysis. Process = a step-by-step movement from a beginning point to an ending point. Analysis = a careful examination; a close, detailed look at something 3. How do I select a topic? a. b. c. d. Something you know how to do very well Maybe something you do as a hobby Something you do as part of your job Perhaps something you learned how to do in school (but do not use any textbook to copy from or to get steps from). All ideas should come from only one source: your own experience.

4. What kind of topic should I select? a. First of all, select something that is very practical, down-to-earth, and easily visualized by your reader. b. Accordingly, you should not select a topic that is general, wishy-washy, and much too philosophical, such as “how to change your attitude about life.” Leave that stuff to Dr. Phil and Oprah. c. To be on the safe side, limit your choices to one of two…...

...to make mac and cheese is with a Kraft box, and if you think otherwise, stop reading here, and stay away from my kitchen, you vermin. So, you’ve bought your box and you’re standing cluelessly in your kitchen, dumbfounded by the variety of cooking utensils. Consequently, it is time for the second step. Dig deep in your cupboards to procure a medium-sized pot and a strainer. Grab a large spoon as well, but you can substitute for a plastic spoon as well. Wooden spoons are the best because they do not conduct heat. Choose with care. In case you do not happen to have a wooden spoon or plastic spoon handy, a regular metal table spoon will be able to complete the task. Just be cautious when using it as it may heat up during the process. Make it a point to use a pot you are familiar with to bolster your success. If you are one who blindly follows instructions printed on the box, it is time for a glorious reform. That is silly mindlessness, and it will result in mediocrity on a good day. Additionally, YOU will be forced to shovel your own failure down your throat as you soak your fork in your worthless tears. How sad. The best thing you can do is follow the nationally-certified Matt Formula which goes as follows. Fill your pan up about halfway to three quarters with water. This is not the most important step, so don’t treat it as such. Next, you should turn the burner on high, and bring the water to a nice boil. In spite of your temptation to pour......

...Justin De Asis Prof. Compagnucci ENG 101-109 09/11/2014 Maintaining A Vehicle The process of maintaining an automotive vehicle is a laborious operation. Nonetheless, the effort and time you put into the vehicle will be gratifying in the end. There is nothing more rewarding than having a vehicle that is well preserved. My car isn’t the most prestigious car out there but it is doing better than most cars the same age. The aroma of engine oil and grease on your hands is just a little taste of the challenges you will encounter. The way I preserve my car and the time I put into it is a great feeling of accomplishment. You too can share this feeling of triumph by following these simple steps. I will explain how to tidy your interior, check your oil, and keep your fluids and brakes from depleting. First, you want to start by cleaning the interior and lining of your car. To do this you must use a vacuum, preferably a two horsepower shopvac. This will keep the carpet clean and free of any dirt and other unpleasant things you find at the bottom of your shoe. After you’re done vacuuming, you want to spritz your car with your favorite scent. There is nothing better than walking into your car and getting smacked in the face by an angelic scent. Keep in mind that failure to follow this will result in undesirable odors and possibly attract unwanted pests. Next, you want to start your oil check. The oil cap is located in the hood of the car. To access this you must pull the lever......

Process Analysis at Starwood

...1. In order to make the stewards more flexible, Starwood can create a more fluid schedule for each steward. The schedule begins by assigning the stewards to kitchens according to forecasted standards. They may be assigned based on kitchen proximity, tasks to be done, stewards expertise, etc. If schedules need to be adjusted due to unexpected daily demands, stewards will check the schedule throughout their shift. This change in process is indicated by an addition of a single step at the beginning of the process. The steward may check a schedule which will assign the steward to a kitchen and duties. The schedule can be referenced by mobile media like a cell phone, headset, employee work station, etc. As the steward completes his tasks at a particular kitchen, he references the schedule again to see if another kitchen needs tasks completed. 2. The Power of Innovation team seeks to capture best practices for all of the Starwood hotel brands in North America. They examine processes and improve productivity. This translates into higher revenues (lower expenses) for the company. The team utilizes teams of personnel with specific expertise in housekeeping, stewarding, kitchen preparation, laundry, etc. to follow staffers when they do their jobs and collect benchmark data. This data is analyzed in order to streamline operations and improve processes. The POI team observed traffic patterns, specifically between banquet areas and privacy hedges. Starwood can benefit from......

Statistical Analysis Process

...Statistical Analysis Process: Generally, all of the business courses that you take are focused on answering a single question - “What can managers do to improve the performance of their organizations?” It is not sufficient to theorize that a particular business strategy will lead to improved performance. You must test the theory. The statistical analysis process is a standardized methodology for testing theories. Generally, you identify a strategy that you believe may work, you ask experts what they think about the strategy, you analyze the data collected from the experts, you interpret the results from the analysis, and you draw conclusions about how well the strategy works based on the interpretations. All remaining assignments require that you follow this process. 1. State the research question. This is general question related to our area of concern. For example: “What can managers do to improve the performance of their organizations?” That’s probably stated a little too generally. More specific examples include: “Will implementation of a market orientation strategy improve my organization’s performance?” and “Will implementation of JIT and TQM improvement programs combine to improve my organization’s performance?” 2. State the hypotheses. Hypotheses are formulated from the research question. They must be stated in a form that is statistically testable. For example, “Market orientation is positively associated with operational......

Business Process Analysis: System Analysis

...Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Number Date Business Process at Work: System Analysis Home delivery has become one of the major activities to boost business. It is regularly practiced by online stores or e-commerce websites. Although it involves more than one process, home delivery services continue to act as a core factor in luring customers into doing business and buying goods without moving from one place to another. From the moment a customer purchases a product or service, up to the moment he or she receives the purchased product, there are many components and connections involved in the process (O’Loughlin 156, 209). The process that connects the online shop, the home delivery services and the customer from a business process that is discussed in this paper. Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis

...Certificate In Human Resource Practice Assessed Coursework Cover Sheet Student Name : Nora Yusof Unit Title: Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis Unit Code: 3CJA Coursework Component: Written Date of Submission: 27/02/2016 JOB ANALYSIS Job is a process to identify and determine in detail the particular job duties and requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given job. Job Analysis provides the information such as knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) required to perform a job, duties and responsibilities involved, education qualifications and experience required and physical and personal competencies required to perform to a job in a desired manner. An important concept in a job analysis is that it is an evaluation of the job, not the person doing the job. The final product from a job analysis includes a thorough understanding of the essential functions of the job, a list of all duties and responsibilities, a percentage of time spent for each group of tasks, the job’s relative importance in comparison with other jobs, the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) needed to perform the job, and the conditions under which the work is completed. Purpose of Job Analysis The purpose of Job Analysis is to establish and document the 'job relatedness' of employment procedures such as recruitment and selection, deciding compensation and benefits packages, assignment of duties, performance appraisal and analyzing training and......

...from just two wind turbines would power the tower’s entire first floor including exhibits and shops. To put in terms the amount of energy that actually is, it could generate an average American home for a year (Ramon). Wind energy is a great substitute for fossil fuels for it does not cause pollution and the fact that its use would be endless due to renewability, however, it is a very unpredictable source due to the availability of wind (Maehulm “Wind energy”). In addition to wind energy, France has taken steps to introduce solar energy and its advantages and possibilities with their new law requiring solar panels atop of buildings. Likewise to having the requirement for solar panels on top of buildings, France is also starting the process of paving six hundred miles worth of solar panels. This generated energy would save on energy costs and is also very renewable and clean. One short segment of this solar pavement could power an entire home or public lighting for a city of 5000 inhabitants making it a powerful source (Markham). A major downfall for when it comes to reliability would be similar to wind power and that is how reliable, or abundant its source is. It could only be collected during the day, or days that the sky is not obstructed by clouds (Rinkesh “Pros and Cons of solar energy”). In addition, a source for energy that is already being widely used today is that of hydropower. These types of energy sources would come from such as hydroelectric dams. It......

Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis

...CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice Module: 3CJA Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis By: Emma Matthews Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis (3CJA) Activity One The purpose of a job analysis should be to determine what the ‘job holder’ is expected to do and how the job should best be performed. It will also help decide what skills and qualities are required of the person who is to perform the job. By undertaking this process, the analysis will have a better understanding of things such as staffing levels, productivity, any adjustments that need to be made, and performance appraisals. Job analysis plays a major role in organisations and it is important to remember that it is an analysis of the job and not the person. Job analysis is also important when it comes to the selection process as this will be based on the job description which should be written from the job analysis provided. There are several methods in which a job analysis can be carried out. These could be; interviews, questionnaires and observation and all methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Interviewing the incumbent(s) The interview method of gathering information needs to be carefully structured and conducted in an open and transparent manner. Process Analysis

...Process Analysis I believe this article will tell me how to write a proper, process analysis essay while also providing examples and other tools needed to start off the essay on the right foot. Process analysis is an operation that is composed of processes designed to add value by transforming inputs into useful outputs. The author compares the term process analysis to cause and effect and narration the author says that all of these three ideas break down into three different categories. Narration talks mainly about what happens, while cause and effect talk about why it's happening, and process analysis talks about how it is happening. The examples the author gives for process analysis are things like giving directions, or how to make ice cream. The author provides us with two different types of process analysis. One of them is directional, which provides instructions on how to do something. The purpose of directional process analysis is to provide the reader instructions to follow in order to achieve a particular task. Then, there is the informational type of process analysis which explains how something works, how something is made, or how something happens. The author says that you would normally use an informational type process analysis if you wanted to explain how the human heart functions. While reading the text, I thought it was very informative on how to write a proper process analysis paper. The author provided many useful examples for both......
