A health care organization is a collection of people working together to achieve a common purpose related to health issues. This collaborative effort permits the completion of tasks that could not be accomplished by any individual for the most effective organization and customer outcome. Today’s health care organization can take a variety of forms; from small out-patient clinics, networks of health care specialists, too large for-profit research hospitals, or private physician offices. Roles and Scope In every health care organization, each level of management has specific roles, expectations, and duties that encourage and promote a high quality, diverse work environment as demonstrated through successful operations and outcomes. In any health care organization, everyone, but especially the manager must respond to and adapt to change in organizational direction required by the need of the patient population it serves. Managers must be accountable for, not only decision-making, but productivity, cost containment, safety, and confidentiality. Major Functions of Management Health care managers can have a variety of titles, but managers share common traits: organizing, planning, controlling, and leading. Managers organize by arranging task, people, and other resources to accomplish work. Managers have to plan by setting performance objectives and deciding how to achieve organization goals. The third method of management is controlling. Managers control by measuring work performance and compare results to objectives. Leading is the final function of management. Leading includes building commitments, build enthusiasm, and encourage activities for the staff. Internal and External Relationship Roles Health care managers must have internal and external relationships to run an effective…...

According to Gray and Larson (2008) “project scope is a definition of the end result or mission of the project which primarily purpose is to define the deliverable to the end user and to focus project plans.” Scope refers to all the work and processes involved in the creation of the project. And provides a view of what is expected to be delivered with the project. The experience of many project managers and researchers has demonstrated that a poor defined project scope represents an obstacle for the project success and it represent approximately 50% of the planning problems. Scope of Employment

...Employers Duty of Care 1. Explain whether Jake’s actions are “in or out of his scope of employment.” To determine if Jake’s actions are in or out of his scope of employment, first we must examine what “scope of employment” involves. “Scope of employment” is an employee actively performing a employment task at a particular time for the benefit of the employer that does not involve the employee’s personal business (Halbert & Ingulli,2010). An employee’s scope of employment typically becomes important when someone wants to hold an employer liable for the actions of an employee or accident on the job. 2. When Herman gave the free oil changes to entice buyers to the car lot, Jake was also given the task of performing the oil changes. ...User Group – Scope Team Review The book states that project scope management includes the processes to ensure that the project addresses all the work required to complete the project successfully (Schwalbe, 2014). End user/customer of the scope team would be project members working on the app. The end user/customer of the overall project would be the employees that will be using the health application and website. This review is from the perspective of the end user of the scope team. Feedback * The team stated that they collected 7 requirements. I imagine that these are high-level requirements that will have further derived requirements. * Using surveys to gain perspective on user needs is good for requirements gathering. * They could also utilize other forms of market research to aid in the requirements gathering. * A 6 month deadline is good, quick turnaround – but is it possible to present a good application in that time period? * 70% employee participation is high—what will the company do to drive that participation? * This question was also asked in-class * The team’s response: says that marketing the application isn’t “their job” so what is their job? Strictly app/website development, like in a contracting sense? And if that’s the case they how do they have the authority to determine the differing change control boards? * The user/task analysis doesn’t necessarily need IT support staff present. The user may feel intimidated...

Scope Control

...Q.1.C. How should scope, time and cost be planned monitored and controlled on projects and how does this relate to integration? Provide a series of at least 20 actions to plan and control scope, time and cost using the strengths of both the PMBOK model and the PRINCE2 model. Solution: Introduction The scope, cost and time management are three separate bodies of knowledge areas in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) [1]. These knowledge areas are described in detail in PMBOK study guide, but this report gives a brief explanation about what purpose they serve and how they are used. Scope Management In general PMBOK defines different ways of how the scope of a project can be managed and controlled. The scope management is divided in the following five processes [1]. * Scope Planning. * Scope Definition. * Creating WBS. * Scope verification. * Scope control. The above mentioned processes will interact with each other and also with the other bodies of knowledge. These processes document clearly help to define the projects limits, risks, hypothesis, constraints, organization, milestone and etc. The WBS (Work Break-down Structure) is used to subdivide the projects workload and this is done for better or management and control purposes. In general the scope of a project is decided or planned at the scope planning or definition stage. In WBS structure creation all the major deliverables are divided into smaller and manageable components.......

Role of the Provider and Scope of Practice

...HLT-307 12/05/2015 Michelle Davis Role of the Provider and Scope of Practice Many only know of doctors and nurses who provide care, but in reality there are many health care professionals behind them that work together to provide them with the proper care they need. There are so many health care professionals that work together and form a work flow to maintain the proper and correct care given to each and every patient that they rely on each other. If one of the professionals were to fall out of sync with the rest of the team then it causes the patient care to fall. In particularly many do not know of cardiovascular technicians and respiratory technicians they are as equally important as nurses and doctors. In this paper I will explain the roles and scope of practice of both cardiovascular and respiratory technicians have in health care, the skills and education needed, and about patient-centeredness. Respiratory and cardiovascular technicians go hand and hand with each other because our body relies on our heart to pump and breathing is the most important thing we all need, therefore a respiratory and cardiovascular technician work closely together to provide for the patients. The role of a respiratory technician is “Respiratory therapists care for patients with both acute and chronic breathing problems across the entire age spectrum.” (Becker & Nguyen, 2014). The job of an RT is to manage and care for those who have respiratory issues. For a......
