What is one invention that has changed your life? Well, mine is a cell phone. It lets you talk, access the internet, play games and much more. A cell phone comes in handy in times like emergencies. Most defiantly so you can call the ambulance, police or even the fire department. Just in case of things happen like fires, robberies or even wrecks, you will have something handy to get a hold of the emergency help. The cell phone will change your life in ways that can be either good or bad. On a cell phone there is a thing called texting. Texting is a different way of communicating instead of calling someone. You can type a message on your phones keyboard, put in an address (as in a phone number) to who you would like to send a message to and press send and that person will receive the message on their phone. Of course either person can choose to just call at any time, but more than likely the text messages will go back in forth. Texting is popular now a day considering it is a teen’s favorite way to talk to each other. Some teens bully others through texting and is currently one of the most common ways of bullying today. Forward, are types of messages that you can send to someone to see what he or she may think of you, to see if they have something to ask you or even to tell you about an important, even that might be coming up. Some cell phones, but not all, have internet. Like my phone is an Android and you can hook up to someone’s WiFI if it’s not locked and you can check your Facebook, e-mail, or even look up videos on You-Tube. For me I go and check my Facebook like almost 24/7 because I am a Facebookaholic. You can upload pictures to your friends and family if you wanted to. Having Internet on your phone comes in handy so you can look up a word that you don’t know or find out what the weather is going to be like. Checking your e-mail is easy also because…...

Teacher Who Changed My Life

...A teacher alone has the ability to change a student’s life. Agree or disagree. The school is not a video game which gives immediate gratification, and we can not claim that students fall in love in each subject taught. After all, what a teacher teaches daily are simple tools like speaking a language, solve a math problem or write an essay that are unlikely by themselves to radically change the lives of students. We all, in our school career, remembered a hurtful words of teachers, with comments on our grades records for example or on the opposite hand a teacher who once believed in us, who knew how to restore our confidence. So a teacher has the ability to change a student lives with sometimes a happy end but it can also influenced the student in disastrous consequences. “When the fascination takes over”, some nice student’s life stories can lead. I remember not a long time ago, it was actually last year in 12th grade in France, we had a fascinating history teacher. This went far beyond the quality of its courses. Her manner of speaking, her presence in class, she had a very classy and luxury appearance. All the boys were in love with her, and girls were inspired by her way to get dressed. That year, we all worked very hard history, got very high grades in the History Baccalaureat (final high school exam in France) and many of my classmates enrolled in history major in college, without her telling them......

A Flight That Changed My Life

...view life and perceive it. My story might not outstanding to other people, but for me, it was a spectacular changed. For years in my life, I would never forget the first time I had my first flight. My family and I immigrated to a new country that I never thought of. Because of that flight, my life had changed from one culture to a different culture in just 24 hours on the airplane It was winter in 2006 when my family and I decided to move out of the country. One week before the departure date, my mum told me that her, my brother, and I needed to immigrate to the United State of America for better lives. I was a teenager at the age of 14 years old at that time. I didn’t really know how my life would be in the U.S, but I was surprised to have a chance to travel outside the country for the first time. The time was liked a flash, I couldn’t had a enough time to say farewell to my friends and my special person, who is my great grandmother. The boarding time for my first flight had come, and I was so exited to watch my motherland from above. That was to have a better life for my family, but my tears just dropped for no reasons, may be I was scared or missed my old house. Well, no more tears to wasted; I boarded the plane with my family and took off. On August 2006 at nighttime, my plane had landed at International Airport of Houston. From the moment I stepped out of the plane, a whole new destiny of mine were waiting ahead of me, and I knew my life would completely changed.......

Event That Changed My Life

...The day that changed my life It was a phone call from the hospital in S.C to my mom back in MI that changed my life forever. I was 18 years old newly married, traveling around the states with my husband for his job I was in Greenville, S.C. when one of my usual migraines started. Migraines have been a part of my life since the age of 12 so this was not out of the ordinary, until day 3 and no change. We knew something had to be wrong and that’s when the journey to where I am today started. I went to the emergency room to get a Toradol shot as I had before, I explained the situation and the length of the migraine and that when the nurse felt something was more serious than a migraine. I was rushed to the back for an MRI and that when it was seen I had a quarter sized tumor in the center of my brain. They were sending me over to a neurosurgeon to talk about immediate brain surgery the tumor needed to be removed before any further damage was done. I was only a kid all alone with just my husband in a state that we didn’t know a single person and I was being prepped for an overnight stay in the hospital while having to break the news to my mom over the phone. I was admitted at 11 pm and was scheduled to have the surgery at 5 am, after a sleepless night and the hours slowly passing 5 am came and was gone and I had yet to see a nurse or a doctor. A few more hours passed and finally at 3 pm I saw the neurosurgeon who advised that he was releasing me and that he would not be......

What Changed My Life

...Everyone has had an event that has changed his or her life. Mine was the birth of my little brother, Matthew. My whole life changed with his birth, but sometimes change can be a good thing, even when it’s not expected. When my parents first told me that they were having a baby and I would have another brother, but this time I’d be an older brother, I was full of emotions. I was happy and sad at the same time. My whole life was going to change and I wasn’t sure if I was ready. Back then, I did not know what a positive impact this event would have on my life. When Matthew was born (I picked out his name, by the way) I could not stop smiling. There, in the bed, was this little “creature” my parents called their son. Not until I picked him up did I feel the weight of his life on my shoulders, and the weight of the effect I would have on him. I immediately felt I had more responsibility, and I was ready to do anything for my little brother. My whole family took care of him, even the cat, and life was somewhat peaceful during those first few weeks. When my mom went out for the first time in months, I fed him a bottle, and although he spit up most of it and only drank a few drops, it was just as satisfying for me as for Matthew. I was there when he rolled over for the first time, and I was there when he took his first steps. I saw his first tooth come in, and I will soon see his first tooth fall out. I helped feed him his first solid food, which he spit up as well, and I......

The Teacher Who Changed My Life

...My Spanish teacher changed my life. I started taking Spanish 1A and 1B just because I needed electives for 7th and 8th grade and didn’t think I could suffer through anything else. I took Spanish 2 because I wanted another year with my favorite teacher. See, I’ve never really minded teachers. I always got along with them just fine. At the same time, I never really felt like I could relate to any of them either. They were friendly and they taught just fine. They just never really tried to level with their students. I feel like because of that, my grades weren’t exactly what they could’ve, should’ve, been. I never saw a reason to do the work. If my teacher didn’t care enough about me to ask why things weren’t getting done, then why should I do them? There was no real reason besides a grade. The motivation just wasn’t high enough to make me care. Then, I started taking a class with Mrs. Davis as my teacher. When I didn’t do the work, she asked why. She cared. She wanted to know me more than the other teachers seemed to. She wanted to see more than just another face in a desk everyday. She wanted that with all her students. She still does. So, I explained things to her. She listened. She paid attention. She remembered and always asked for a follow up. She still does. For the first time since I started school, one of my teachers really seemed to see something other than another face and another grade. I was important. I’d never felt like a teacher found me important. So I......

The Day My Life Changed

...The Year My Life Changed As school started back in the fall of 1998 I was in such good spirits. I was a sophomore in high school and I felt good about myself. I was two grades away from completing high school and was looking forward to starting college. But at that point in my life I just wanted to have fun. Back then what seem to be the right thing to me was so very wrong! And I paid the consequences for my actions. The happiness times in my life became the darkest time in my life, I was scared, lost, and bitter. At the end of my ninth grade year I was very happy. I had been promoted to the Tenth grade. I had a wonderful family, a loving boyfriend and some wonderful friends. What more could a girl like me ask for. In August I began my tenth grade year. Over the summer break my boyfriend and I had become even closer. We started doing things that we knew was wrong but we did them anyway. I was so in love so what I thought what we was doing was so right. He was a few years older than me and I felt like he knew what he was doing. So as we continued to do the things I never considered the consequences. Well around the middle of September I started feeling sick. I started getting sick on the stomach to where I was throwing up all the time. My mom told me that I needed to go to the doctor but I put it off for a couple of days. Trying to see if the sickness would go away. But it continued and I finally made an appointment. Upon the arrival to the doctor office I prayed and......

Technology in My Life

...In my life there have many great changes in technology. Many of these changes have affected my life greatly. They have made it both easier and faster to do things. The one piece of technology that has affected my life is the computer and all its programs. The computer and all its programs have made my life so much easier. Before the computer was invented you either had to write out what you wanted to say or typewrite it on the typewriter. However this was not always easy because if you made a mistake there was no way to fix it but to write it over again or use white out. With the computer though, mistakes could be made and fixed before I print it out. These mistakes could be solved within seconds by doing a spelling and grammar check. Also the computer I can save my work so if something happens to the first copy another copy could easily be made. With the typewriter and plain old writing it if the original copy was damaged you had to write it over again. Another great thing about the computer is that it is fast. If I were to write this essay by hand it would take me about twice the time because I would have to write the letters instead of just pressing buttons to get the letters on the screen. Next the computer has many programs on it like all of the Microsoft office programs so that I could do all of my school work and it sometimes has games on it. Also the computer usually has an internet connection. The internet is the one thing that saves me a boat load of time. On the......

The Impact of Technology on My Life

...‘The Impact of Technology on my Life’ Technology is so much apart of our lives that we could not imagine a life without it. Technology has helped create the world that we live in. The world is a different place than it used to be, even 40 years ago. The internet has been a huge advance. It has allowed people to become more educated than ever. Information is so accessible. As a student of fashion I find the internet a necessity. Fashion is never ending and there is always new information to discover. The internet is the only way to be up to date on the fashion world because it is so fast paced and changeable. I wouldn’t know half the things I do about the fashion world if it weren’t for the thousands of websites dedicated to it. As someone who wants to be involved in the world of fashion I need to be up to date with trends etc. and the best places to look are certain informative sites like Style.com and londonfashioweek.com. I need to know all the new look for each season and I need to be able to identify the designer who created those looks. The only way of keeping so update is by doing a daily or weekly search online for all the new trends and fashion news. Of course I’m not the only one who is learning things on a daily bases from websites. Millions of adults and students are learning new information or skills everyday online. We, as a population, are growing ever more intelligent and I think the internet has a lot to do with that. No one hands hand-written......

One Thing That Changed My Life

...us a long way on the road to self discovery. Although I have just started my journey of self discovery, probably with my own colored glasses, this is my effort to share my journey so forth with you. As per the UN Report India has the largest youth population of 356 million ,10-24 year olds. In this mammoth population, it is not unusual to meet a youngster like me, in late teens, still confused about my career choice, my love choices. Unsure about my dreams and as to what I want from life. I read in biology that every individual possesses their own unique DNA sequence or genes, like fingerprints. This give them a unique identity. However apart from my biological uniqueness in this teeming population there are people around me –my family and friends –who think I am very special. So for reasons still unknown to me these people around me remind me that I am a special person not only because I have a unique set of genes. My mother tells me “the best thing about you is you”. Today I want to share a small experience which might not be big for someone but is a big one for me, I had my internship break in the month of November and as this was the first project of the new college being completely cluessless about it and being a beginner in the field of law I chose Jaipur to do my internship as it is my hometown which was my main concern that I would get a good 45 days break to sit and relax at home. As it was my first internship I chose to do it in an NGO named Shakti Stambh which......

It Changed My Life

...It Changed My Life When a simple day changes your life forever, every day is lived like the last day of your life. Being diagnosed with IH has changed my life.                  After shopping online for new frames because I felt I needed a new prescription for my glasses, I was diagnosed with a rare disease that changed my life forever. My vision had become blurry while wearing my glasses. I went to the mall for a regular vision check at a local Lens Crafters after locating new frames I had wanted for months. Since I needed a new prescription I felt it was the perfect time to get them. After attempting to check my vision and the pressure behind my eyes, the optometrist had determined there was excessive pressure behind my eyes. Because of the excess pressure she was unable to get an accurate reading for a prescription as my vision continued to fluctuate. Instead of leaving with a prescription or receipt for my new glasses in hand. I left with images of the pressure behind my eyes, a new diagnosis of papilledema and a referral to the emergency room. I was admitted into the hospital the same evening after leaving the eye doctor. The diagnosis that the optometrist had given was accurate. The emergency room physician had brought in an optical specialist to confirm there was excessive pressure behind both of my eyes. This is uncommon in young women my age, so the doctor asked many probing questions and concluded they wanted to do some additional test. This was the......

I was preparing myself for months leading up to those days but I had no idea when those days came it would change who I was, or even how I thought. It took a few days after to realize that all of this wasn’t a dream it became reality. I hoped and prayed for these days to come one day. I couldn’t have been more thrilled when they finally arrived. I keep thinking to myself is there anything I need to do better, what I needed to do, how my life will be different and there is no going back. All I could do was breath and enjoy every precious moment God has given me. When all else fails I know these were the days I can look back and always know I had done something right. A Day That Changed My Life

...The Moment that changed my life My life was a mess. I was going down roads no man should be traveling. I didn’t care what happened to me or what happened to anyone around me. The only reason I went to work was because I needed money to have fun later that night. My life was a downward spiral and no matter what people said to me, It didn’t matter. I was a waste of space, a burden on everyone around me. I was bored and I was going to have a great time even if that time great time included me hurting everyone around me. There I was working one random Thursday in April when I happen to look out into the restaurant and saw a memory of mine that was sitting at table 52. I asked my friend Kory to ask her if her name was Jessica. Jessica was a friend of mine from middle school. We lived on the same block but we kind of lived our own lives, she had her friends and I had mine, occasionally we would hang out and have fun but nothing more than that. As the years moved on so did we, she went her way in life and I went mine. After Kory came back with the news that it was her, I built up enough courage to go talk to her. It was the usual talk for people of haven’t seen each other for over ten years, awkward at first but comfortable after awhile. Before they left and after a few margaritas we exchanged phone numbers. I found out that she was recently divorced and had a three year old daughter named Blaise. After a few days she called me because she was tired of waiting on me to call. ......
