Why a Master in Business Administration?
After almost 11 years of my life working as an IT Support Specialist. I recognized that in some way I was in a better location inside the company, and earning more money than some colleagues that have the same position that I got because I did bring a Bachelors degree for the interview. Don’t get me wrong it didn’t make me better than them at all, but it helps me to get the job and negotiate the salary. It couldn’t happen without the Bachelors Degree. Now I see myself in a career that didn’t fill up my expectations as a professional nor in monetary too. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very thankful for all I’ve been able to do with my actual job. But part of me wants a change right away. After a couple of months of serious research, I find out that most of the people that works in some way supervising personnel and/or founds for a company, got jobs that are in more demand, with better salaries than the one that I got in this moment. Also most of them end up with their own companies, if they what to. Remember, they already know how to run a business; the difference is the type of business.

What was the difference between me and them? They were supervisors, managers, and or administrators. I can say a big part of company owners accepts, even likes the idea of having someone else running their company while they live the dreams and enjoy the freedom the company’s profits can give them. They are willing to pay a good amount of money for it. So’ the question is not, why? it should be why not?, right. I did read some magazines, browsed and read some in the internet, looking for information about Business Administration. Talk with some friends, and coworkers that are managers in Scotiabank, personnel…...

...To pursue a master's in business administration Gary M. Newsome MGT/521 August 17, 2010 Stephanie Jackson To pursue a master's in business administration Many people set goals in life with a mindset of accomplishing these goals, and there is no more important goal than achieving a higher degree in education. It always has been my ultimate goal to achieve a master’s in business administration (MBA), but because of the time constraints and long deployments of military service, attending an institution of higher education for an MBA was out of the question. After 30 years of military service and beyond the age of 50, there is no better time to conquer my dreams and achieve my personal goal in obtaining my MBA. This accomplishment will open new a new path toward venturing into another outstanding career. The value of higher education is an important factor for advancement. The opportunity to excel would be the primary reason to achieve this goal while gaining the skills, and knowledge, of management. A position of increased responsibility requires much knowledge to be successful and a company, or business, may fail without these credentials. Mintzberg stated that “managers are important people who are supposed to sit above others, removed and disconnected from the work of making products and selling services. The higher they go, the more important they are, so that on reaching the top, becoming Chief Executive Officer; they are the corporation even if they arrived......

...with, different ideas, different beliefs, different ages/positions, and so much more. The job of a leader is to get all those different aspects of the business working in a way to where everyone can function and be productive towards the company goals. The goals could be to produce items that will sell in stores or services that will be provided to customers. Whatever the business does, it is the job of the leadership team to ensure cohesion and ensure that every employee feels like they are part of the team. Having a business with a fully functional staff is hard enough. Add in creating a team environment where employees work together to achieve goals is much harder. There are so many conflicting ideas and sometimes motivation can be a huge issue. When team motivation is down that can cause a huge decline in productivity, thus, it is very important to create a motivational plan that will encourage job satisfaction, low turnover, increase both productivity and quality work. These four items will create an output that benefits everyone. The employees will be happy working for the business and the business will be able to make profit from the productivity and quality of the product. Creating an organization motivation plan is not as easy as it may sound. As mentioned above, there are many factors that go into a business, so the motivation plan would need to encompass all of those factors and make sure that everyone turns out a winner and that no one is left out of......

...Duracell and Braun, which was described as not-so-attractive-business. But besides the cost to buy these two brands, P&G also get sales and profit from acquire these two brands. So, although there are several costs will happen after the acquisition, these costs may be small compared to its total sales and profit increase. So in my opinion, the synergy is way bigger than 0. Question 2 is about what’s the best way to coordinate. Through the analysis of question 1, we can know that the synergy is bigger than 0, which means gains from coordination exceed costs. So the best way to coordinate is through integration. This was exactly what P&G did in 2005. P&G can use the assets of Gillette better than Gillette itself. P&G has more pricing power in the market and broader distribution system, which can drive the profit and sales of Gillette’s products. P&G’s economics of scale can also decrease the production cost of Gillette’s products. But if they choose to not coordinate, then P&G will lose a new building block of its current business while Gillette can hardly enlarge its sales in short time. So coordinating through the market may not be a good strategy. To sum up, the acquisition of Gillette helped P&G get a great positive synergy. The potential gains is huge, the achievability is high, and the cost is relatively not that big as the growth in sales and profit brought by this deal. This deal response the question about why does so much economic activity occur within......
