Before, 60% of the earth was covered with forests. But now, there is only 30% because they have been cleared to make way for buildings and roads. Are we not aware of how important our forests in our daily lives are? Why do we allow them to disappear?

Our forests help us breath. They generate the oxygen we need in order to live and absorb the carbon dioxide we emit. They prevent the greenhouse effect. They clean the air by absorbing odors and pollutant gases. They keep us cool – the canopy of a tree serves as protection from the sunlight. They fight flooding – the roots of the trees help the ground to absorb flood. They give us natural medicines. They help us make things – it is where we get our timber and resin. Last, they also create jobs – some people rely on forests for their livelihood.

But wait, they are not just trees. They do not only benefit to us humans. They benefit to animals as well. They serve as the habitats for countless species. Just like humans, animals depend on forests for their survival. They depend on forests for their water. They get food from forests. Forest is also the home to many types of plants, which are the food source for many animals.

These benefits that I have mentioned are what I have seen and realized on the film showing. It really proves that forests are the source of life. Forests are not only important to us humans, but to billions of species as well. We depend a lot on our forests so let us all not let them just disappear. Let us all stand up and be aware of how important our forests are to us.

“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.” ― Mahatma…...

Why Is Environmental Scanning Important?

...Why Is Environmental Scanning Important? All organizations need to monitor at some level what goes on in their environments and recognize their strengths and weaknesses in relation to it. The importance of environmental information depends on the degree to which the success of the organization itself depends on its environment. In the business literature, this dependency of the organization on its environment is referred to as perceived environmental uncertainty (PEU). Gordon and Narayanan (1984) identified factors that determine PEU. These factors include the nature of the society, economic stability, legal stability, political constraints, the nature of the industry, the customer base and the nature of the organization. While PEU varies from industry to industry, the level of recognition of the importance of the environment also varies from company to company, as does the reaction of companies to their environment. Khandwalla (1977) identifies three possible relationships between organizations and their environments: Dominant organization/dominated environment Dominant environment/dominated organization Symbiotic relationship – neither the environment nor the company dominates. The relationship between an organization and its environment depends upon the internal strengths and weaknesses of the company, which means that an opportunity for one company will be viewed as a threat to another company, depending on how well each is positioned to......

Why College Is Important

...Assignment 1 “Why college education is important to me” Achieving Academic Excellence February 6th, 2014 The purpose of this essay is to show the importance of a college education and to provide many reasons why a college education would be important to me. I will incorporate a few quoted references along with some statistical data and my personal opinion. About twenty years ago I couldn’t give an answer to “why college is important to me”. I did enroll in a college and lasted about three semesters. I didn’t do well in many of my classes because I had poor study habits, lacked maturity, was never really focused, and just didn’t have any real motivation and goals set for myself. I never really gave it much thought. The point is I just didn’t take advantage of what college would mean to me and to my future. I wanted to enter the work force right away because I thought that I could land a good job without a college education. After fifteen years of doing different jobs and not making enough money to support a family on my own, I was finally at a crossroads. What am I going to do with my life? Do I continue to struggle? Those were really good questions. I realized that it wasn’t possible to land good jobs without better knowledge and the only way possible is to go back to school. I did some soul searching and came to the conclusion that if I am going to achieve something in this life and qualify for many positions then I must go back to college and work very hard for a......

Why Is It Important

...bsb  Camp Casey Korea why is it important to follow orders Donald Fletcher bravo company 302d bsb  Camp Casey Korea why is it important to follow orders There are many reasons why a soldier should follow all of the orders they are given because every one of them is important in any circumstance. An order is a task given to a soldier that has to be done in a certain period of time in an efficient manner. There are three main reasons of why it’s important for a soldier to follow the orders they are given: To be disciplined, an effective combat, and be a good soldier and love your job. When a soldier doesn’t follow the orders they were given it doesn’t only affect them it affects everyone in the team and the goals they have set for the mission. When soldiers don’t follow the orders, the objectives are hurt and the chances of winning the war. When you’re in the army you need to stop and think if it will harm you or your battle buddies. When a soldier doesn’t follow orders while in combat zone it makes the mission ineffective, if a single soldier in the unit is combat ineffective it lowers the chances of winning, making the leaders deal with a soldier that can’t handle the workload of the unit. For example if Sergeant tells a private to prepare the guns before they go out for the mission the sergeant is telling the private to get the guns ready so they can be fully functional and help out when its needed in the fight. It doesn’t matter if the private doesn’t know why he had......

Why College Is Important to Me

...Why College Is Important To Me There are so many reasons why college is important to me. However, the two most important reasons why college is important to me is that I want to be a role model for my two daughters. Secondly, furthering my education can mean a many great opportunities for advancing in my career and in life. Leading or setting the example for my daughters is very important to me. By actively portraying to my daughters the importance of having a college education after high school, they will engage into participating in a plethora of new opportunities in their own lives which will enhance their way of living. They see how hard I study and how important my grades are to me that it encourages them to do the same in their high school studies now. They actively partake in my studies now, which in turn, results in them asking me questions on what I am studying. Having them involved is having them engaged in their own thought processes. If I have done that for them then I feel like I am doing my job as a Mother. I encourage them to follow in my footsteps so that they can have a better life for themselves. The second reason college is so important to me is the fact it will change my way of life. Studies show that a college education leads to better paying careers and/or advancements in a career. Why Is Education Important?

...Why does society consider education such an important quest? Should there be a purpose for education or should education simply be an intrinsic pursuit (Marples, 2010), where individuals just want to learn and become more knowledgeable. Education should be accessible for all young people to obtain skills required to become meaningful members of society, whether it is simply to acquire knowledge or to acquire more purposeful skills for a meaningful profession. How that occurs is determined by stakeholders commissioned to realise the aims for education devised by governments, who ultimately decide what is best for society. Education can be applied to any number of programmes that teach and encourage learning (Hand, 2010). The argument put forward in this paper will outline three views of education that support different educational aims; liberal, vocational and resolved views. These views will be explored before one view will be discussed in relation to the aims of education within the Australian context, explaining ethical implications for teachers and how the view affects student learning. Educational philosopher Richard Peters believed that educations value was purely intrinsic (Marples, 2010), that individuals pursued education for knowledge’s sake alone. Working with Hirst; Peters (as cited in Marples, 2010) proposed a liberal view to education that saw knowledge and understanding being valuable for its own sake (O’Boyle, 1983, Marples, 2010). This view was......

Why Collge Is Important to Me

...                                      Why College is Important to Me College is important to me for a couple of reasons. The reasons that going to college are important to me are so that I can prove to myself that I am capable of completing something as challenging as college and to show my children that no matter how long it takes, you can complete your goals and dreams. At the age of sixteen I dropped out of high school. I was not being challenged, the work was boring and the drama of high school was more than I wanted to be a part of. I had dreams of becoming a model and someday having a family. I began working immediately and was very happy. At the age of 18, I became pregnant and got married and soon had two children. I don’t believe that I am a typical college student, most students are looking to further their career or make more money; to find that new career. For me, it’s not about a new job or more money, but a sense of personal accomplishment and a desire to be an example to my kids. College View advises “more than ever, attending college provides opportunities for graduates which are not as widespread to those who have not received a higher education.” I didn’t believe that a college education was important. I thought that having a job, being a mom and being a functioning part of the society was enough. Until now, it was. I now have four children and each of them are starting their futures with a college education. I want to teach my children how......

Why Is English Is so Important

...Why English is important IF YOU are currently learning English in a school, college or institute of further education, you join approximately one billion other people around the world who are engaged in the same pursuit. However, as you try to memorise proper grammar, and try to avoid the mistakes common to most students of English, you may wonder why you are learning the language in the first place. So, why is English important? After Mandarin, English is spoken by more people than any other language, and is the native language of more than 350 million people. More people speak English than those who speak the Arabic and French languages combined. Moreover, English is the international language of diplomacy, business, science, technology, banking, computing, medicine, aviation, UN & NATO armed forces, engineering, tourism, Hollywood films and arguably the best pop and rock music in the world. English has plenty of words to choose from. In fact, an English speaker is offered the biggest vocabulary of any language with a choice of 500,000 to 1,000,000 words (including technical and scientific terms). But don’t panic, most English speakers do very well with a vocabulary of around 20,000 words. English can be fun too. For instance, the music of such stars as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson and Madonna has encouraged fans to speak the language of their idols, whilst others have enrolled in English classes to improve their......

Why Eminem Is Important

...Critical Argument Analysis Essay “Why Eminem Is Important” Eng 215 Think about what would happen if there was no Eminem? One less rapper is more than likely what you are thinking right? Well it is not just one less rapper. It would also be one less role model for those who really care about him. Eminem is an influence to the young life and even the adults. His songs are stories based on his life and things that he would have wanted to change or make different. Most of them are based on subjects that actually happened to him first hand. Some of the children growing up in this time and some adults face some of the same problems he faced. Therefore, Eminem is an influence who expresses his self in his own different style or character. His music is an influence because of its rhythmical story behind it. Take the song “Mockingbird” for example; it is a song of how Eminem’s daughter Hailie was growing up with her mom always on the news and her dad (Eminem) was always on the move. If you think about it, not everyone gets to see their parents’ everyday of the week. Some of the children’s parents may work different shifts at their job which makes it unable for the children to see them a lot or as much as they want and this was being expressed during the song “Mockingbird”. Hailie barely got the chance to see her dad or her mom and stayed with her “Crazy Uncle Laney”. It is true that some of his music can be somewhat violent and......
