With the different types of transportation at our disposal, has become much easier and faster. There are different choices for traveling to a place far away from my home like traveling by train, car, or taking a bus, each having both advantages and disadvantages. Given the choice, I always prefer to travel by train especially if it is an overnight journey.
Trains are easily the most comfortable way to travel. One has the option of travelling in air-conditioned coaches either first class, 2 –tier or 3 –tier. At night there is hardly any scope of getting amazing views en route and a good night sleep gives a refreshing start to the onward journey. Passengers are provided with clean bed-rolls for the night to tuck yourself in. The ride is very smooth and not bumpy as in case of buses due to the poor condition of roads. Trains rarely suffer from weather delays and does not give a jet lag. You can talk to your companions, read a book, or have a snooze. Indian Railways is pretty well connected and major cities are serviced by at least one railway line, along with countless local and commuter services. Trains offers plenty of legroom, no restrictions on the use of electronic devices, generous free baggage allowances, and a dining car serving freshly-prepared meals. Long distant passenger trains are provided with washrooms which are cleaned regularly. Travelling by train overnight is much safer. A bus journey is fraught with risks, they are more accident prone because it is depends on one individual - the driver. Whereas in railways, a system of traffic signals and personnel work in tandem to ensure safety. Trains are also provided with security guards for the safety of passengers. In comparison to bus rail fares are less expensive with discounts available to senior citizens and children below twelve years.
But the most important reason for my preference for train…...

Why I?

...Why I love fashion At an early age wool, cotton, linen, and silk have been always a part of me. Not much has changed since that time except for the fact that I have grown to love and appreciate what goes on behind the scenes in the fashion industry. I simply dress to have amusement to my existence. As Bill Cunningham described in his wonderful documentary "Fashion is our suit of armor to survive every day life. It would be like doing away with civilization." I was confused on whether to engage my life to the fashion industry being such a competitive job. I believe that fashion has pushed me out of my comfort zone to try things I never would have imagined I would. What keeps me passionate about the fashion world is the freedom and creative expression one gets. You can express yourself and maybe people will listen or respond. If I see someone with a great pair of shoes on (for example), I may go up to them and tell them and we strike up a conversation and perhaps we become friends. This isn't always the case but it is more likely since you started with a mutual interest. I knew I could start making the world pretty one girl at a time! Fashions is art that we wear every day and live our lives in. Unless you live in a nudist colony, clothes are something that we must wear every day. The beauty of that is that through clothing we have the opportunity to express a part of our personalities and ourselves. I love beautiful and functional design of all types whether it be......

Why I Write

...“Why I write/Difficult reading" Writing. One word, unlimited stories, tales, memories and also; stress. I struggle with both a mental and medical disability. This makes it so much more difficult to do everyday activities let alone something that takes long-term commitment and focus. I struggle very much when it comes to writing, reading and pretty much anything that has to do with concentration. When doing an assignment for class, for example; homework, my severe anxiety kicks in (although I suffer from it 24-7 it hit’s the ceiling when stress is involved.). I have to not only understand the work that has to be done I then have to read, re-read, look up, ask questions, attempt to understand, and re-read as I go to try to answer any questions I later have. I never knew about this column setup before and truthfully I am shocked to find that it does actually help. When reading I used to highlight, underline, keep notes or truthfully skip over words or sentences I couldn't comprehend or just couldn't pronounce. I was very lazy in my younger school years and pretended like certain words, definitions, or sentences were not important and could be skipped or omitted from the readings I was working on. I later found out that I was wrong and it was my downfall in certain assignments. I also struggle from a learning disability that I just recently found out about which also makes it frustrating when it takes hours to do an assignment that takes others minutes......

Why I Agree with Plato and Why

...After doing research on Plato, ive come to find many people disagree with him. Plato is a rationalist, He says that sense experience fails to provide us with any guarantee that what we experience is, in fact, true. Plato's simile of the sun, image of the divided line, and allegory of the cave are intended to clarify exactly how the things we experience in the sensible, ordinary world are less real than the ideal models on which they rely for their existence. One of his theories I particualry agree with is knowledge. Plato was convinced that ethical conduct must be founded on knowledge, and that knowledge must be knowledge of eternal values which are not subject to the shifting and changing impressions of senses or of subjective opinion, but are the same for all men and for all peoples of all ages. It is this ignorance of how we establish our reality that Plato attempted to expose with his complex theory of knowledge. Plato developed a system of levels in which he explained the steps through which a human evolves as wisdom replaces ignorance. Plato described how the human mind achieves knowledge, and indicated what knowledge consists of by means of his allegory of the Cave, his metaphor of the Divided Line, and his doctrine of Forms or Ideas. In one of Platos books in the Republic, he illustrates a “Cave”. Plato asks us to imagine an underground cave, which has an opening towards the light. In this cave are living human beings, with their legs and necks......

Why Am I Here

...Why am I Here? The decision to further my education was made long before I completed high school; however, at the time I did not have the resources at my disposal to achieve my life goals. In conversations I had with individuals that I surrounded myself with I realized that furthering my education should be a top priority. The decision was made to join the armed services which had a huge impact on my life. Not only did the rigors of military life provide me with the discipline that I would need to succeed, but it would eventually avail a litany of resources thereby enabling me to pursue select long and short-term goals such as purchasing property and building a home. Over the years I’ve been motivated by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and by living vicariously through family, friends, and their college experience(s). Along comes the Great Recession; a period in our history that continues to impact every hard working American and the global society. The unfortunate events leading up to the recession and the subsequent implosion of the economy, if you will, forced me to seriously ponder my future. Why now? “Why not?” would be the easiest way to answer that question, but the more obvious answer is the fulfillment of my goals. You see I never gave up on them I just chose another route. I envision a better quality of life following successful completion of my degree program that will not only affect me but family and friends. I presume that more opportunities will present......

Why I Came to College

...English Composition I February 10, 2014 When I was inspired to come back to college Returning to school for me at this point of time in my life is very important. I have quite a few things I want to accomplish in life, and one definite thing is receiving my degree in the Criminal Justice. The point in my life when I came to this conclusion, I was at work doing yet doing another double. I had just gotten paid and my check wasn’t enough to pay all my bills I had that were due. I couldn’t understand why I still fell short. I had picked up all the overtime I was allowed per pay period and it still wasn’t enough to cover all my bills. I knew it was time for a change in my life. I then enrolled in Schenectady Community College. I signed up to get my degree in Criminal Justice. My first semester went great I was so proud of myself. Second semester I changed degrees and switched to get my degree in Chemical Abuse Counseling. After taking my second semester I realized Chemical Abuse was not for me so I switched back to Criminal Justice. I’m now in my third semester and look forward to completing Criminal Justice and obtaining my degree when I’m done taking all the required classes needed. I’m aware with me switching degrees it set me back a little but I’m in no rush and know I have a long road ahead. Hopefully the courses in chemical abuse I took can count towards my criminal justice degree. I currently work for adults with disabilities. I have been at this job for twelve......

Why Do I Read

...I have to admit that I am not as prolific of a reader as I used to be. My current reading mainly consists of reading news and science articles from the internet, and occasional bed time stories with my son. I enjoy reading news rather than watch or listen to news, mainly because it allows me to gather and analyze information from various sources without the filter or the bias of television or radio networks news anchors. In addition to news and various articles I prefer to read short stories. My fascination with short stories began at around age 12 or 13. At the time, since access to television in Iran was very limited. We had to entertain ourselves and being a mischievous child I spent a lot of time in my room (being punished) either listening to radio or reading. My favorite books at the time were horror books. I remember buying these paperback books and reading them cover to cover in two or three days and be scared out of my wits for a few days. I recall at the end of some of these books were teasers about the next story that was due to arrive next. However, at the end of one of the books there was a short story by Edgar Allan Poe titled “The Cask of Amontillado”, I read that story several times and every time I found something new that I Had missed previously. That was the reason I got interested in short stories. My fascination with short stories always have been with a given writers ability to develop main characters, , story plot, and a that in novels might take......

Why I Want to Teach

...imprint on their students. Growing up I have had many teachers, some have left good and bad experiences in my life that has ultimately brought me to where I am today. “John Dewey was possibly the most influential educator of the twentieth century and probably the most controversial one”(Sadker &Zittleman 2010). I believe in being a progressive teacher in that I want to see my students at any skill level continue to improve. As a progressive teacher I will have 3 main goals: to inspire, grow and groom individuality into each student under my care in the classroom. I will a teacher whose image will never be forgotten and whose tenacity for education is never questioned. I believe that, if possible, every child no matter the age or ethnic background should be treated as an Individual in the classroom. In my own personal experiences being a student I have seen how even in a college setting the connection a teacher or professor can have with a student one on one is much more satisfying than a teacher who just teaches a class. Education, according to John Dewey, is the “participation of the individual in the social consciousness of the race” (Dewey, 1897). As such, education should take into account that the student is a social being. The process begins at birth with the child unconsciously gaining knowledge and gradually developing their knowledge to share and partake in society. Furthermore, in my educative journey with my students I want them to be able to realize and......

Why I Learn This

...420) are important in helping teams be effective. Evaluate the team on all three types of teamwork processes, transition, action and interpersonal. In transition processes, the team did poorly in because they didn’t plan the process that they were going to face. I would have to say that they did bad in action processes to because no one didn’t keep up with the progress of each other and their position on their part of the assignment. Interpersonal process wasn’t like it should have been. The team had a lot of conflict with each other and frustration build up. No team can succeed without communication and understand with each other. 4. What could the team have done to avoid the situation described? If the team would have meet up more to go over the project, that would have decreased the level of conflict. Also, because the timing of the meetings some team member had problem with so maybe if the meeting time was arrange better then that’s a problem that could have been fix before it started. More communication and better planning will fix this team and there problems so that the project assigned would have been a greater success. 5. If you were John which cover page would you have selected? Why? I would have selected the cover page with all the team member on it because even through all the conflict and some not doing all of their part, they still brought something to the table and contribute to the project....

I also applied for the EOPS and CARE program. I’ve learned that there are many clubs that I can join. Emotionally I would like to be as excited and motivated as I am now. I hope it doesn’t fade away. I am doing this for myself but I would like to make those who love me proud. I want to keep going and excited in every class regardless of all the obstacles I know might come ahead. Why I Love Pizza

...Home / Miscellaneous / Why I Love Pizza – A Personal Essay About My Favorite Food Why I Love Pizza – A Personal Essay About My Favorite Food Posted by: I Dream Of Pizza in MiscellaneousNovember 21, 2008 Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in my heart. From pizza day in the school cafeteria to pizza parties at sleep away camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be devoured. Early on I learned that everybody eats their pizza differently. There are those who fold their slices in half, those who eat their slices with two hands, and those who (dare I say) like to cut their pizza with a fork and knife. Some people soak up the olive oil with a napkin, while others don’t mind a greasy slice. Some people like the crust, while others live for that first bite. Some people decorate their slices with spices, while others like it plain. Nearly any ingredient can be put on pizza. From pepperoni and anchovies to barbecue chicken and pineapple, every pizza pie is like a unique work of art. Every pie is a different shape and size. There are thin crust pies, deep dish pies, and everything in between. There are pies with different cheeses and tomato sauce, or even pies with a completely different base altogether. Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC there weren’t so many great options for pizza. Ordering in from Domino’s and Pizza Hut was a weekly......
