I. Worldview is how a person views the world and the events going on in the world around them. This may come through a person’s feelings or thoughts. It could also be based on the way a person was raised to view things. II. 1. The Question of Origin: Asks “How did mankind come into existence?” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011). After God had created all things on the earth. In (Genesis 1:26 KJV); God stated that he would make Man in his image after his likeness and give them reign over all the earth. Then in (Genesis 1:27 KJV); he created male and female. He blessed them and told them to be fruitful and to multiply, and to replenish the Earth.
2. The Question of Identity: Asks “Are humans more important than animals?” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011). After God had created man and blessed them, in (Genesis 1:28 KJV) God then gave man dominion (control) over the fish, birds, and all living things that move upon the Earth. (Psalms 8:4-8 KJV), says that he has given dominion over all sheep, oxen and the beasts of the field, the fowl of the air, fish of the sea and all things that pass through the sea.
3. The Question of Meaning and Purpose: “Why does mankind exist, more specifically why do I exist?” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011). We exist because we are all part of Gods great plan. God is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish. We are here to be given an opportunity of coming to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 KJV) before His final judgment descends upon a world that ignores God and is unconcerned to know the answer to this question (2 Peter 3:10 KJV).
4. The Question of Morality or Ethics: “How should I live” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011). The entire Bible is a roadmap of instructions for Christians to follow or to live by. The Ten Commandments would be an excellent start. They are found in (Exodus 20:3-17 KJV). Also in (Titus 2:12 KJV) the…...

...I. Worldview can be described as how someone perceives the world and their thoughts on the world today. A major part of world view is the religious portion that includes their beliefs concerning God, their values, and what morals they feel like they should uphold. II. For Christians, worldview is something that is written clearly in the Bible for man to understand. The question of the origin of man is explained in the Bible in Genesis 2:7 and in Matthew 19:4, both clearly stating that God created man from nothing, and that he created both man and woman. The uncertainty of a Christian’s identity is another question that can be answered in the Bible. In both Galatians 2:20 and 1 Corinthians 6:19, it can be interpreted that when man becomes a Christian, he now lives through Christ, and that your body and soul should be fulfilled with faith. The question of meaning or purpose of life is a question that is commonly asked by Christians, or even someone that does not believe in the Word of God. The purpose of life for the children of God is to spread the news of the Gospel. The meaning of life is most importantly leading others to Jesus Christ. This is stated throughout the Bible, such as in Matthew 28:19 and Acts 26:16. Morality is an issue that everyone encounters and must deal with numerous times on a daily basis. Scriptures explain that morals are something to be highly considered and dealt with strictly, such as the Ten Commandants, discussed in the book of Exodus. All......

...Laura Thrasher CWV-101 April 12, 2013 Bob Greene Worldview Essay Throughout this class my eyes have been opened over and over again to the way I think about different worldviews. A person’s worldview is determined though their beliefs and their morals. Though my worldview is Christian someone else’s can be completely different. Just because someone’s worldview is different than mine does not mean that their worldview is wrong. Worldview is different for each individual but they can still have the same set of ethics and morals. From a young age my grandmother brought me up with a Christian worldview and its beliefs. I know that God is the creator of all things in the universe. I know this because it is in the Bible. The nature of the universe came into existence all because of God. God created the nature of the universe to show his love for all things that he created. After God created the universe he made man out of his own image and he was pleased. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God knew that he had to punish them. I do not think that God wanted to punish them, but he had to teach them wrong and right. Now days we have the Bible and God’s words to tell us how we should act and what things are right and wrong. In everyday life we are faced with situations that we must choose what to do. God knows that as humans we are not perfect and will from time to time sin. God loves us so much though that he sent his son to Earth to die on the cross for our sins. By Jesus......

...Worldview Essay Michael Pomeroy December 2, 2011 CWV 301-(2) Chip Lamca When it come’s to a worldview, I could never figure mine out. I have never been to church and I have never prayed for anything, but I always had a belief that there was a God. After studying different views, I found myself being a theistic worldview because I believe in a God but haven’t studied much a bout that God. Who is God and what are His characteristics? “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Therefore, God created earth and everything on earth including humans. “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!” (Romans 11:33) There are many characteristics or attributes of God. God is all-powerful; His power is unlimited. God imposes the only limitation on His power. (Genesis 18:25) God is all knowing, He possesses all knowledge. Since God is everywhere at one time, He knows everything. What is the nature of the universe? I have two different opinions about this question. First, I believe that God created the universe and the nature of the universe is to show us how great and powerful God is. My second opinion or thought is if God did create the universe to show us how powerful He is does he protect other forms of life in the universe? What is a human being and what happens when one dies? A human being is a creation of God that consists of a spirit and soul. From what...

...A Worldview is your own way of looking at a topic based upon your own filters and screens. As example a newborn baby has a very limited worldview. They soon learn that crying brings a response so therefore they cry when they are hungry, wet, or restless. As the child grows to adulthood their screens and filters also expand and therefore their worldview changes. Many authors have attempted to answer the question of Man’s Origin, their Identity, the purpose of Life, Morality and our Destiny. This paper will discuss the Christian view of these questions using the Bible as the reference. Origin is defined in the first Chapter of the book of Genesis. Genesis 1:39 and 1:27 explains how God created both man and women in his own image. This viewpoint regarding Origin is carried consistently throughout the Bible. In Psalm 139:13, David’s writing expresses “for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Identity questions what it is like to be human and/or whether humans are more important than animals? The Bible specifically answers this question. Genesis 1:28 states that after God created man and women he blessed them and ordered Man to rule over the fish, birds, and all other animal. Psalm 8:6 also gives an example how The Lord our God made Man and destined him throughout the Bible to be a ruler over the earth. The Meaning or Purpose of life also has a very common thread throughout the Bible. Ironically the Bible does not define “purpose of......

Being a human is more than just being cool, its knowing were your going in life and doing right from wrong and treating people with respect. Humans are not any more important that animals. We are all equal on this earth. Man-kind exist because God wanted us to be her and I believe that I was put her for a reason and that I have a purpose in life. So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them (Genesis 1:27). Everyone should know right from wrong and what should not be done I know this is why God gave us common sense to comprehend between whats right and whats wrong. Even though we make mistakes we should not get discouraged but learn from them. For the Lord is our judge , our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us ( Isaiah......

...          Jacqueline Arnoldy Christian Worldview Professor Chip Lamca January 25, 2014                 1. Who is God and what are His characteristics?   God is the infinitely knowledgeable divine element whom is answerable for the formation of everything, all that exists, and all that will exist.” …God is the creator of heaven and earth and all their inhabitants” (Cosgrove pg. 135). God is liberal, overlooking, adoring, all-influential; yet, to numerous it appears that his activities demonstrate a generally viewpoint of lack of interest from him. 2. What is a human being and what happens when one dies? A person is the consolidation of a material form and the human spirit/soul. A person is more than simply a creature, it has the ability to show the strongest feelings, complex thinking, and show across the board empathy. "For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts; for all is vanity. All go to one place; all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again." (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 RSV) 3. What is the nature of the universe? The universe is a mixture of material and soul, not one or the other. Soul and material in the universe are joined inconclusively. The universe is here for us “…the belief that each individual person constitutes the center of one’s universe” (Wilkens pg. 29). 4. How do you know what you know? How do you......

...Elizabeth Richard CWV-101 August 5th 2013 Todd Forrest Worldview Essay We all want something to believe in. Every view influences us to believe certain concepts and hold them to be true. I have a Christian Worldview and believe that God is my savior. I could have easily chosen to follow worldly concepts but instead I chose to believe in something the world could not offer me, God. To have a Christian Worldview one must believe and assume there is a God, a supernatural being that exists with power beyond what humans can comprehend. I believe there is a God, a heaven, and a hell. Some believe there is no God and that the supernatural world does not exist while others believe in the self. Whatever Worldview an individual may believe for their reasons, I have reasons of my own as to why I believe there is a God. God is three is one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the truth, he lives in everything. He is the reason for all existence. The Bible was written so that we would not only have a guideline of how to live Godly lives but for us have documented evidence that Jesus walked this earth and is real, He is something to believe in. God is a loving God. God is all characteristics in one. He loves, forgives, is compassionate, merciful, graceful, pure and eternal. God is also jealous, angry, and relentless. His character is like no other, He is flawless and without sin. No human being can touch Him and no human being can match His greatness. We are His......

...Worldview Dwight Taylor Liberty University APOL104 Contemporary Worldview Professor: Dr. Darren C. Wu Worldview What is worldview and how is developed? How does it affect our decision making? Most importantly, how does it influence our development of a Christian belief system as we interact with the world? What is Worldview Worldview is one’s philosophy of life. It is developed over a lifetime from the influence of multiple outside input sources such as parents, peers, teachers and media. Thus developed it serves as a filter for our decision making throughout life. (Weider and Gutierrez) 2013 define worldview as “A worldview, then, is a response of our heart or inner being; our intellect, emotion and will”. Biblical/Christian Worldview Beliefs Our Christian belief is that there is one God who is the creator of all things. We also believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. The Bible serves as a Christian’s worldview filter in answering questions of Origin, Identity, Purpose, Morality, and Destiny. Question of Origin We as Christians believe that God, three persons in one, is the creator of all things. Our God is eternal and everlasting (Psalms 90:2) King James Version and is the creator of all of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1). After creating the heavens and earth, God created man from the dust of the earth to have dominion over all that was created (Genesis 1:29). Question of Identity What is humanity? Man was......

...Worldview Biblical Worldview “A worldview is the framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world.”[1] says David Noebel, author of Understanding the Times. When you begin to think about worldview as it pertains to religion, it is simply the belief that forms your actions and reactions to life. A worldview can be personal, biblical, scientific. Everyone has a view or an opinion and/or a belief about religion. The atheist even believe, they believe there is no God, it is however a belief. One may ask, how are those beliefs formed? Is it when our children and our parents decide for us by teaching us what has been taught to them by their parents? One may feel that it is by tradition that we form our beliefs. This makes sense to us because it is what made sense to our parents, to their parents, and so on. As a child, I became a Christian because my biblical worldview began with my parents and grandparents. They took me to church every Sunday and I attended Sunday school where I began studying and learning of God’s word. I learned if you want to have eternal life you must believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Once we have formed our beliefs, what guides us daily, what give us awareness of right and wrong? For Christians our roadmap is the Bible and for Muslims it is the Qur’an and for Jews it is the Tanakh. We have learned that God inspired the Bible. The Bible is the recordation of events that......

...What is a worldview? The dictionary defines the term worldview as the overall perspective from which one sees and interprets the world. Also as a collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or a group. In the biblical sense it is defined as the frame work of beliefs of the world around him. The biblical/Christian worldview on the Question of Origin is answered in the first book of the Bible called Genesis. In this question we are asking our self’s the question of how did life begin or were did we come from? In the first statement of the book of Genesis it says simple “In the beginning God created…” We were created by God in His image. The Psalmist in the book of Psalms states that he is fearfully and wonderfully made. This can only refer back to what Moses was saying in Genesis that we are created. The next point that is brought up is the point of Identity. What does it mean to be human? Are we more important the anything else that is on the face of the earth? Who are as humans? When God created the world He needed some on Earth to look after and tend to all He had created. Humans were not created because God was lonely; we were created as a steward on the Earth. Again according to the Psalmist we were created above the animals. To where all of Gods creations were spoke in to creation, humans were made at his hand. In the book of Genesis we are told that man and woman are to rule over all fish, birds and animals. The next question must......

...Part I: What is a worldview: The word itself is getting more and more popular in today culture. Everybody has a worldview, whether or not they realize it. Worldview is set by what we see, hear, think, from your education, your culture and media the list goes on and on. Your thinking and bias thoughts affect the way we view things in life and the reality around us. Example of this would be is to say that there a type of car, no matter the year, mode or color and too me it would be considered a wonderful beautiful car in my eyes no matter what anybody else view of it is. So we all see things different in our own worldviews. Part II: Articulate the biblical/Christian world view: 1. The question of Origin: In the worldview in the bible says, God created heavens and the earth. Which is in detail in Genesis 1:1. In Psalm 19:1 it talks about God and the cosmos with meaning and humans beings and all the universe should be conceived and interpreted as a sign of God, his glory and his power. 2. The question of Identity: The worldview says that god created man. This is well known from Genesis. Also, the saying god created mankind above the animals and man was created. This is all back up in the Psalm. 3. The question of Meaning/Purpose: Is in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge stated in colossians. Knowledge is the purpose and meaning as stated in Psalm state that true knowledge can only be acquired by a reverenced submission to the living......

...Merriam-Webster defines worldview as “the way someone thinks about the world”. Scientific and religious cultures have very different worldviews, neither of which can be considered right or wrong. II The Bible says that God created the heavens and the earth and everything on earth. Many people try to discredit this fact by trying to discredit the Bible itself or by stating scientific data. In the book of Genesis alone the word, create is mentioned dozens of times to account for the fact that God was creating us and in what order he created the world. Also in Deuteronomy 4:32 there is a mention of God creating humans and the world. Identity is a key part of the Bible. It gives us understanding that we were talking to God and lets us know our place in the world. 1 Corinthians 12:27 is possibly the on that stands out most to me. That verse alone is strong enough to make an entire crowd stop and think about where they stand in Christ and what their identity is life really is. The Bible also states one that is heard a lot in today’s world because of the abortion conflict. Jeremiah 1:5 is used time and time again by prolife activists to show that abortion is not a way of life. For Christians the meaning of life is one of those questions that are usually better answered by themselves than by nonbelievers. They have an understanding on what their purpose of living on earth actually means. Case in point, Jeremiah 29:11 informs people know that there is a future for them after life...

Worldview take a broad view about what you perceive. These experiences, memories and learnt ideas are what form your concept of a worldview. My worldview is that we are all products of our environment. My beliefs and attitudes have resulted from the process through which my education and learning has been obtained. The beliefs and attitudes that I have grown up with, to do with my education and learning, has been because of my parents and how I was raised. My experience of being raised in a military environment, living and travelling all over Australia and overseas, has also very much shaped and broadened my worldview. Every person has a different way of seeing and understanding the world. Hobson (1996) defines a worldview as ‘the primary conceptual framework within which our beliefs, values, attitudes and assumptions about ourselves and others are held’. This interpretation and view can be constructed by many things, parents, close family and the culture, religion and community we live in. So then, a worldview can be personally internal, but be shaped by external manipulations? I relate this to education and learning in the school system where a teacher is the external manipulator who absolutely influences a person’s way of being educated and their learning, and therefore, their worldview. Only some of my educational experiences have manipulated my worldview, in addition to my beliefs and attitudes. It was my parents who taught me to be independent, reliable, self-sufficient...

...Apologetics 104 week 3  June, 4/2012  What is a worldview? : In my opinion a worldview is one's perception of the world, and how it affects the manner in which he/she responds to the world in which they live. Ken Funk (Kenneth H. Funk II, PhD, and Associate Professor at Oregon State University) in his paper “What is a worldview?” cited the German word Weltanschauug which means “worldview” as… “Seems self-evident: an intellectual perspective on the world or universe.” As well as the 1989 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary defines “Weltanschauug” as …”literally, a perception of the world…” as a particular philosophy of life; a concept of the world held by an individual or a group…” Weltanschauug is also cited in “Weider and Gutierrez’s’ text Consider as a widely accepted term and was first coined by the Prussian philosopher, Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Judgment published in 1790.” It appears that many philosophers will agree that “Worldview” is one’s perception of the world. Everyone has a “worldview” but may not be aware of this view. Conscience or not it dictates how they live or act in the world…Worldview does not necessarily have to do with a perception of the world or the planet but instead it deals with a thought process that is developed from several sources. Our culture, our environment, Parents, teachers, beliefs, and our own reasoning affect our worldview. One can have many worldviews; however the worldview that” most” allow to dictate or the view that......
