In the film of Spiderman, Peter impressed me the most. The major reason is that he used his special power to turn down many crimes in the city without asking any rewards, well-known in the city, or even sacrifice himself. I believe everyone will be impressed by his spirit. Once he found he had super power, he tried making use of it. Then when his uncle was murdered in a robbery, he made his mine that he would stop all illegal activities as he can. Even the cost wasn’t small-------spending his own leisure time, risking his life, cannot earn money by doing part-time or achieve his dream. Despite the cost was huge, he had no any reward. Nevertheless, he was suspected by the public as one of the criminals. However, he didn’t change his decision, especially after his uncle’s dead, his hateful towards crimes even grew stronger. These are the reasons why I think he was the most respectable charter in this film. There were two charters who were important to Peter. They are Mary J and his Uncle. I’ll begin with Mary. I believe Peter’s love was a kind of sad. Both of them love each other, but they can’t be together. As Peter chose to be a hero for saving people who are in danger, he cannot with Mary for long time. She then left him along. Even Mary finally changed her mind; Peter cannot accept her love because of his destiny. Moreover, he often brought danger to his friends and family when he countered with different enemies----both Mary and his grandma has suffered this. To protect Mary, he can’t love her or having different relationship. Peter had care Mary so much. But Mary would never understand what Peter did for her. So I think The next important charter to Peter was his Uncle. His uncle was trying to act as Peter’s father to teach him. He tried to make Peter be responsible to his super power. Though his uncle was killed soon after Peter became…...

Happy Birthday, 1951

...Happy Birthday, 1951 1: Summary Happy Birthday, 1951 is a tale about an elderly man and 7-year-old boy, who lives in the ruins of a war-torn city. Soldiers demand the two to fill out documents with information such as age and name. The elderly man does not know the boy’s age or birthdate. Therefore they decide to celebrate the boy’s birthday the next day, and the man decides to take the boy to a green and living place outside the devastated city. In addition, the man creates a cart for the boy, which the boy rather sees as a tank. On their way to the place, the boy spots an old, rusty tank, which fascinates the boy. The man becomes more and more irritated by the boy’s admiration of things connected to war, which culminates in the man becoming angry with the boy. When the elderly man wakes up after a nap, the boy is gone. The man finds him saying ”Gotcha!” while seated in the tank’s turret pointing towards him. 2: Characterization The young boy was born in the latter half of the Second World War. We can extract this piece of information because of the short story’s title (1951), and because the boy has not gotten any birthday presents in the first six years of his life, which means that the boy turns 7 years in the short story. The boy’s nationality, name and birthdate are also unknown. The boy’s mother was a refugee, who probably delivered her baby to the old man because she feared for her life. The young boy has lived his whole life in a cellar in a shattered......

My Birthday Slip

...My Birthday Slip This was my seventeenth birthday and I couldn’t wait for it, although I was going to be in school for it. I was looking forward to all of the birthday wishes, hugs, and gifts. It always happened that way every year, so I shouldn’t have been that much excited; I guess it was because I was turning a year older. The morning of my birthday, I had gotten up and picked out my birthday outfit. I picked skinny leg khaki pants, a white collared aeropostle, shirt, and brown baby doll shoes. To let it be known that it was my birthday, I added a pink birthday stash that read “Birthday Queen” and a pink and silver crown. I made my hair so pretty, with little tight curls and even did my makeup a little. I like to go all out, so of course I had a brand new brown and cheetah print backpack that was similar to my brown baby doll shoes. I was ready to go. By time I made it to my bus stop down the street from my house, I had already received 3 different sets of balloons and a couple of gifts. The whole ride to school I got phone calls and text messages, so I was beyond happy! All of my balloons were in the aisle and in everyone’s way so it was also a difficult ride to school. Still, I didn’t care because it was my birthday. I couldn’t wait to get to school for two reasons: first, to get off the bus with all of my balloons because I started to get a bit annoyed with them and second, to get more birthday wishes, gifts, and attention. Finally, I had made it to school. I......

A Happy Birthday

...“Happy Birthday!”, what does that even mean? A ‘wish’. A wish? A wish for my birthday girdled in happiness. With no trace of sorrow and misery and all things making life what it truly is. Sometimes I feel that the wish had enough, and rebelled to be an order. A commandment for happiness. Required. Or demanded, of course. And what’s with happiness anyhow? Is happiness really the one truth? Can one not wrap themselves up with unhappiness on their birthday? The lone thing which they know can keep them warm and safe. Can one not feel lonely?, or grief?. Can one not celebrate sorrow?, heartache? And anguish? No. It is my birthday. I must be happy. I must shake off my depression and attempt to enjoy and revel in the astronomical splendor of the day; or at the very least, pretend to. And what is it, which I’m being asked to celebrate? What is so exceptional about a birthday? A day I cannot even remember. A day with no memorable significance. A day of ‘what’ and ‘how’, but no ‘why’. A day, stripped of its conventional festivity, holds no sense, and no memory which I can take to my grave. What should I celebrate then? Is it the celebration of the culmination of nine months, and more, of struggle which my parents braved?; the sacrifices they made and the pain my mother endured?; the ‘happiness’ which ‘they’ felt when they heard me cry for the first time?; The only time my tears brought a smile to their face. Then why am ‘I’ being celebrated? My adolescent......

Happy Birthday to You

..."Happy Birthday to You", also known more simply as "Happy Birthday", is a song that is traditionally sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person's birth. According to the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages.[1], p. 17 The melody of "Happy Birthday to You" comes from the song "Good Morning to All", which was written and composed by American siblings Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill in 1893.[2][3] Patty was a kindergarten principal in Louisville, Kentucky, developing various teaching methods at what is now the Little Loomhouse;[4] Mildred was a pianist and composer.[1], p. 7 The sisters created "Good Morning to All" as a song that would be easy to be sung by young children.[1], p. 14 The combination of melody and lyrics in "Happy Birthday to You" first appeared in print in 1912, and probably existed even earlier.[1], pp. 31–32 None of these early appearances included credits or copyright notices. The Summy Company registered for copyright in 1935, crediting authors Preston Ware Orem and Mrs. R.R. Forman.[citation needed] In 1990, Warner Chappell purchased the company owning the copyright for $15 million, with the value of "Happy Birthday" estimated at $5 million.[5] Based on the 1935 copyright registration, Warner claims that the United States copyright will not expire until 2030,......

Happy Birthday to You Copyright

...copyrighted “Happy Birthday to You” song in his restaurant, Bobby’s Bistro, for more than 20 years. He obviously did not know that Johnny Singstealer had the song’s copyright, along with many other people that sing the Happy Birthday song in public. When it comes to the law, it is clear that Bobby Bandleader had no right to perform the song in his restaurant without working out a deal with Johnny Singstealer, the copyright holder. Bobby Bandleader was clearly engaging in copyright infringement of the “Happy Birthday to You” song based on his unauthorized public performance without the knowledge and permission of the copyright holder, Johnny Singstealer. (Galpert, 2008) Based on the United States Code Title 17 §106, it is stated that owners of works such as musical composition, even this particular composition, have the exclusive right to perform the copyrighted work publicly. Bobby Bandleader is the offender and he should apologize and offer to pay Johnny Singstealer whatever is due or whatever his demand is as long as it is fair, reasonable, and just amount. Johnny Singstealer has the right to collect the necessary royalties or licenses fee from Bobby Bandleader since it is against the law to steal the copyright-protected works of others and perform them without pay. (Unhappy Birthday, 2012) The amount of 1 million dollars that Johnny Singstealer demanded for the past and present copyright abuse they requested Bobby Bandleader to pay is ridiculous. ...an aggressive behavior that inflicts harm on the physical and mental well-being of a victim that causes them to have feelings of fear and intimidation. As stated in Boulton et al (1992), “Researchers commonly define peer victimization or bullying as a negative act of aggression (or oppression) that is unprovoked and discriminately intended to cause harm, while carried out repeatedly over time and involves an actual and/or perceived imbalance of power and control in which the aggressor or group of aggressors are physically or psychologically more powerful than the victim” (Boulton & Underwood, 1992; Farrington, 1993; Olweus, 1999; Rigby, 1996; Smith &Thompson, 1991). Bullying has been known to occur from the minor range from one-on-one bullying to more aggressive methods of the bully incorporating random or volunteered partakers, who may or may not willing assist the primary bully with his or her bullying assaults. Bullying from my perspective, is a serious issue that needs to be handle in high consideration due to the increase reports of homicides and suicides that are have occurred based on the devious and abusive acts of bullying. As stated by Barbara, E.F. (2012), “Bullying or bullies from other observations of society can be overlooked as, “that’s just the way people are or “there’s nothing that can be done” (Barbara, 2012). But what truly bothers me about bullying the most, is that some people observe it as a social irritant that does not inflict any serious......
